I love GT5...But it has awful Force Feedback!

Wow, I must be driving a different game. I have absolutely no problem knowing when I'm losing grip through the wheel, with the tire sounds, and what I see on screen. I feel the curbs, the FF goes light when I get a little air or when the front end is almost off the ground. It gets heavier whith a stiffer setup, it feels vastly different from car to car to me. It makes me wonder if my G25 is doing the same thing as people's G27s.. I know for a fact the DFPro and DFGT suck, I have one.. it doesn't compare (they are the same thing)..

I remember people saying there was a problem with the G27 as it didn't respond to in game adjustments, and my G25 is hugely different from 3 to 5.. the difference between 2 and 9 is what you would think it should be too. I wonder if something else is going on with the FF on the G27 too. Anyway, if you have a DFGT- then it isn't GT5 that sucks, it's your wheel. G27? Maybe PD are purposeful wrecking FF on it like they are the button mapping?
Same here, I don't know what people are talking about. My wheel goes very light every time that I lose the front wheels traction, try a Focus RS with no aids(ABS off too) and comfort tyres in a long straight, get some speed and turn rapidly to any side. I use a G25, FF set to 10, simulation mode, no active steering and no assisted steering.

The general feedback is much improved over Prologue and you get a perfect sense of what the car is doing, a very few games have that finesse on the feedback. Maybe people are talking about vibration feedback and effects? I use a buttkicker and the combination of both makes a very intense experience, far from muted or non communicative.

I agree with that above obviously.. but yeah I forgot to mention I run no driving aids, ABS 0, FF level from 1 for Red Bull x2010 to as high as 8 or 9 for some little toaster with comfort tires. I even experiment with that power steering setting for street cars with power steering. I have a feeling G27 FF might be different although it should be identical.

Try suddenly adding a lot of steering lock mid corner to induce understeer, at least on my wheel I can't feel any noticable difference in weight.

also running G25 with simulation mode, all aids off, I usually drives FRs though, maybe I should give the FFs a try.

Like rFactor FF feels? I always hated that about rF FF, it felt very artificial. I compare the FF in GT5 in an Impreza to my real Impreza, it's eerily similar. All the cars jusr feel right, or close to it. I think some "sims" might give more info through FF, but sometimes it's "tacked on" artificial effects.. like in LFS, GTR, rF, etc.

iRacing FF is good, but that feels more like Richard Burns Rally FF to me, which I think are both great, and both similar to GT5 in a lot of ways. I must be coming at this from a different perspective.

I thought GT5p FF was OK, but not great and if GT5 didn't get it better I would have been bummed out. To me GT5 is five times better than GT5p in physics and FF.. definitely not perfect, but to me as good as I ever thought a GT game on a PlatStation would ever be. Maybe I'm grading it on a curve, but I think the physics and FF are two things PD got right in GT5. To me they are headed in the right direction and have done a great job in those areas.

you mean stock rFactor FF??? I can't recall the original because I ran with realfeel always.

GT5's feedback is no way bad, best on console probably. (but I own very few console racing sim titles, so my view is limited), it has the basics correct but just lacks that extra bit of grittiness if you may.

You drive Rome over the cobblestones, you HEAR that they are there, but you can't really FEEL them... Every time I've driven cobblestones IRL, it has come up my steering column into my hands like a jackhammer!

Buttkicker: You can feel them.

Pointless comparing to more dedicated PC sims.
This is a console and things are unlikely to change even if we want PC levels of simulation it is not the target market.

T500 has some great FFB moments in GT5, though I find it varies on different tracks, cars and tyres.

Thene am woundering wich car do u drive real life? Old one with no servo?

I've driven many of the older ones with no 'servo' (power steering?). The wheel almost leaps out of your hands. And a few of the newer one, and you can feel it, even if it's more muted. The entire CAR is vibrating, and that makes its way up the column. What car you driving that you CAN'T feel cobblestones on? A Citroen DS?

Through the wheel? Or your ass? Dunno about you but my HANDS are on the wheel, and my ass is in the seat! :sly:

In my case, the correct answer is both , one Buttkicker mounted on my wheel mount and another under my seat.
P.S I normally have both of them under my seat. Sometimes I hook it to the wheel mount for games like GT5 for some wheel rumble.
I must mention though there are limits to the Buttkicker. For example you will feel the bass from music ( I leave it off) and sometimes feel other cars close by. Anything pass 160 HZ you won't feel at all.
