Some people might want their cars looking like scrambled metal.

Okay, i think people are getting the wrong impression, this thread asks people of their OPINION on the subject, some of you may like ramming ect, others not, so dont accuse people of not being fun if they dont enjoy it, and people who dont like it, say why, rather than saying "its dumb and gay, noobs do it"
Rant over lol, btw i like ramming, its awesome with my RAM lol, i like to race clean though 👍

Maybe that's my reason why I don't like ramming? 👎

Okay Entersandman13, I won't tell people they not fun anymore. Also lol at ramming with your RAM!

Well, it may be fun to you, but it ruins your reputation online :)

We are talking about rooms specifically set up for ram races, not ramming in normal rooms. Your reputation(like anyone actually has one) isn't ruined at all.

If the room explicitly states that dirty racing is the order of the day, then I'm OK with it, but not if it's a normal lobby which advocates clean racing.

I thought dirty you couldn't have a clean car...just kidding I like to use a fully upgraded dodge ram.

If you want to ram and drive reckless and crash into people, GT5 isn't the game for you. Try burnout

But burnout meant to be like that!
We need a forum on racing series for "Dirty Racing".

Ramming is frustrating unless it's caused by human error. Just my opinion.

But this is about a lobby where your meant to ram people.

I've enjoyed a bit of dirty shuffle racing. I don't see the problem if all parties agree. Gran Turismo is a video game. Call it a sim if you want, but in reality, it's far enough away from an actual simulation that if you're complaining about people having a bit of fun with a video game they purchased, you have some wonky priorities.

Hell, I'd be down for some DLC of a big ol dirt field and some old American family haulers. GT has most types of 4 wheeled motorsport, why not complete the spectrum? Get some figure 8's, train races...all with a does of realism. Wonderful.

That sounds amazing even though I'm not into ramming lobbies that would be too cool. 👍

I love ramming lobbies...took my midget onto one...lets just say it was an experience. On a serious note though, as long as the lobby makes it clear, then lovely. I also love clean race lobbies. I guess it depends on the mood

I like them, but not when I'm trying to get into a clean race.

I've never played it in forza but they say 'tag' and 'cat and mouse' in Forza rocks, i enter the normal R1 lobbies.

Dirty racing is fun...but just ramming in free mode kind of dum

I love using different cars and seeing what damage can be caused, too. That's part of the fun. The '70 Challenger RM looks like the door gets stuck open and the Camaro '10 RM's bumper hangs on by a thread. I really want to make that bumper fall off, but it never happens.

Just to clarify, this thread is about racing in a room that is titled Dirty Nascar or similar and the goal is to see who can survive to take the win at the end of the race. It requires an enhanced set of skills over clean racing, as car setups are different when you are going to use the car as a projectile and learning how to wreck someone, while keeping your speed, is paramount.

Another skill is not getting out front too early in the race. I like to be about the middle of the pack with a couple laps to go. That way, you can use the boost to weave and wreck your way to the front and hopefully, get that last push over the finish line as you slide over to block a passing car and he rear ends you to the victory, thus using their over-aggresiveness against them. 👍

Very well said, but yeah I think people are getting the wrong imppresion by this thread:dunce:

I host dirty race lobby's a lot and always get a full room . We have one golden rule and that is you can't deliberately go anti clockwise , this will result in a kick .
What ever it takes to win is ok and a lot of the time people's ramming backfires which is funny . Most of the racers are regular's and are now " believe it or not " starting to become quiet skilled at picking their moments when sending others into a spin . It's not just relentless ramming , but nudging and blocking at the right times . I also love clean races but dirty races does make me laugh A LOT . Anyone who disagree's probably hasn't tried it yet in lobby's that are set up just to be dirty ;)

Oddly, I can never get a useful effect from ramming:grumpy:
Clean racing tends to be easier, and snags me easy wins when 1st and 2nd get tangled up in a crash:sly:

I think stuff like this is fine as long as everyone agrees with it and the room gets along. If it is all in good fun have at it. But I strongly disagree if it is one person messing up everyone's fun in a lobby of serious racing. Just my two cents ;)

Of corse no question , has to be made clear every time 100% 👍

As it says in the title I love lobbies where people ram into each other because it's a good way to get anger out and have a lot of fun!
Some people should just have fun on GT5 and ram each other, bet you'll find it fun!

Don't start arguments over me please, just speaking out my opinion.

Also this is just about lobbies that say "Ramming".

I don't appreciate when people intentionally ram me off the track. I play GT5 to relax and to try to run as clean as possible. I joined a dirty Nascar lobby once and it was not fun at all. In a ten lap race, I could not even get one lap finished before being run off the track...Racing is about going as fast as you can while being as courteous as you can to other drivers. Apparently a lot of people never got that memo...
