You can lol all you want. I know what I was in for in a dirty Nascar lobby but it was shocking to see that I could not get one lap in while being untouched. Never again will I join one of those lobbies. It's not fun waiting for the damage indicator to go away so you race in a straight line......

If it's in a room set up for it (dirty racing or just a crash derby) then it's a great way to get some anger out :D . But when your properly racing or just chilling out in a room and someone in a tank car or a veyron starts ramming it's so annoying and frustrating.

This is probarbly the most unpredictable racing scene, and that is what makes it fun, imo. I race clean on the nurb pretty much 70% of my circuit time, and it does get tedious and repetitive at times, when you can ancticpate which car/driver combo is likely to win (yes I'm lookin at you Ford GT, for the 540pp races), but dirty racing is far more volatile in its nature; you crash, spinout, get nudged, blocked, cornered + then those who can't handle the mechanics, rage and never return (I played a few dirty sti vs evo lobbys).

More importantly, its challenging, yet fun. For those saying its "dum", racing around a track nudging people, is no more "dum" than say sliding around a track, and yet drifting is a worldwide phenomena.

Remember its the enjoyment in driving that wins people.

In my opinion, of course.

+2:tup: It's one of those things where you have to experience it in its full glory, to appreciate it

Anyone have a Dirty lobby open?

I don't appreciate when people intentionally ram me off the track. I play GT5 to relax and to try to run as clean as possible. I joined a dirty Nascar lobby once and it was not fun at all. In a ten lap race, I could not even get one lap finished before being run off the track...Racing is about going as fast as you can while being as courteous as you can to other drivers. Apparently a lot of people never got that memo...

Well said 👍👍

LOL i bashed a guy into the pits! :D

Lol , not all dirty lobby are like your experience . I can imagine what happened to you wasn't much fun , but lots of dirty race lobby's are different . Me personally , I restrict all aids apart from TC and and turn off damage and boost high to keep everybody in the race and make the room a shuffle , we have a couple if golden rules and if people don't play to them they're out , just like any other lobby. You should join us some time and you may changed your views on this subject . Don't get me wrong everybody to their own and that but I also do lots of clean racing too . As long as the room title is clear then don't expect anything other . Lots of people tarnish these lobby's with the same brush and that's not the case 👍

I never tried it because I´m more in to "serious" Racing.
And even if your in a "Clean/fair"-Lobby there is always a Big moron who thinks you´r his Brake -_- => I voted no

Might try it just to see some epic flips :D And maybe I´ll regred my vote then.

For dirty Nascar racing!

The problem for me is that everyone does boost on dirty lobbies. What's the point of driving dirty if the starting blob of cars never spreads out? Everybody gets creamed in every corner.

Lol join 1472-6681-3158-0102-3231 for Dirty Shuffle ;)

Gran Turismo 5: The Real Destruction Derby Simulator...
...it would be better if the damage model was like GRID's one, now thats something:D

Good one Shawdowking!
Alex I think I might join you!

Never tried it, but I can appreciate that it could be fun, just on open circuits. At a track like Monaco, my TV screen would be endangered by flying loose objects. I would be terrible at it, because by nature i'm not aggressive or ruthless enough to win at these.

In clean rooms, it's a no-no. Try to ram me deliberately in one corner and i'll brake test you on the next one to give you a penalty.

OHHHH :D

Any word on GRID 2?

Maybe as a "bring your trucks to this room and knock the socks off each other/blow some steam off" event.

Other than that, no. Contact from Hard racing yes.

What is Grid 2?
Is the possible sequel of GRID (1) that still doesn't exists:D

GRID, formelly known as Race Driver GRID is a racing game developed by Codemasters that mix arcade and simulation...bah who the hell cares - what you need to know - the damage model is extraordinary, see when you are mad and mash a piece of paper - something like that:dopey:

EDIT: put "GRID epic crash" or something like that on youtube and enjoy:D

Think I like Fifa 11 better...

In competitive racing, no. But for the likes of Topgear rooms where its just for a general mess about ramming can be fun. I always pick someone to annoy , if they ask me to stop off course I will, but in general it doesn't annoy people in the TopGear rooms.

I once picked my target, to which I got a reply, 'so you want to play then Jamie' he then got a car and we chased each other for about an hour ramming each other off the track, good way off having fun.

Theres a time and place for stuff like this though!

Yes because it's definitely realistic and what the game designers had in mind when they created GT5. Seriously, this sounds like a little kid's idea of fun. You wanna ram, go play Forza or GTA.
