UPDATE:

My buddy let me borrow his Edge Evolution programmer for a couple weeks, so I have been tearing up the roads and blowin smoke everywhere haha. Clutch has started slippin when I bang gears so I gotta look into that.

Other then that, I should be gettin my A- pillar pod, and EGT gauge soon. Also, my buddy wants to buy my tires and I am planning on gettin 315/75/r16 Cooper STT's. AKA 35"x 12.5"

Got some maitnence to do too. Rear brakes and parking brake need some attention, and I smoked one of my alloy forged U joints in the front driveshaft, so i gotta warranty that thing out, then its time to go wheelin :)

Oh, yeah, I'll try n get some videos of my truck with the tuner tomorrow too.

The jealousy I feel over your truck just keeps piling on, nice work!

Update: I bought the dual a-pillar pod and a autometer Z series Pyrometer.

I installed that and I'm gettin up to 1100* if I pin it for a while at WOT. Tomorow, I am pulling the trans again, and replacing the clutch. Clutch is rated for 750 ft lbs and I was making maybe 550-600. Clutch was slipping in between shifts pretty bad. I am gonna take pictures of it when I pull it.

Next clutch will have Feramic facings and should hold 1000+ ft lbs of torque. Hope this one holds up.

Update. I blew some stuff up in the mud.

I blew a spider out.

Just ordered up a Motive ring and pinion, Strange engineering spool and a sweet new finned diff cover I am gonna paint to match the rear.

You blew an open differential? Or was this one a locker? If the latter... sad... if the former, congratulations... I didn't know that was possible.

Oh it's possible alright. In fact pulling a ripper one wheeled wonder is really bad for the ol' open diff as the gears inside are rotating flat out. I suspect as it was trying to get out of the mud one wheel was spinning furiously and BANG all over rover.

And if you're in mud for that matter without diff breathers... Hot diff, no ventilation.

I have diff breathers, and my wheelspeed never went over 30 mph. My axles seals Ford put in were leaking. I heard the front end whine for a couple seconds.....then BANG

So it was the front that blew out? Well hell, that trucks still driveable!

*facepalm* I thought you younger guys were smart enough not to do that :P reminds me of trying to get through the job's driveway (i'm running the only NON truck).

I just went through a repair crisis (most of my brake system's now been replaced...AGAIN)

I just put in an electric fan in her today from a 3.8 ford taurus. I t moves some good air, and i put it on a manual switch and a relay. I did the wiring super clean and even used that black plastic covering for it. looks legit.

Noticed any power gain? I'm really tempted to convert mine to e-fans, but I'm not really sold on it yet

You should look into the Lincoln Mark VIII fan. Thats what I am running in my 69 Camaro. Pushes around 4,000 CFM and only cost about $150.00. One of the best fans out there for the money. I have a DC controller wired to it to control the temperature. Its much better than a relay system.
This is my old fan compared to the Lincoln Mark VIII.

wonder if that'd fit my van. that bugger runs hot for a 3.3/201. my only question is where are you finding lincoln Mark VIII's?!

All over the place for $500 or so with take your pick of body damage/blown airbags/bad transmissions.

well, definetly not around here. i know of a grand total of one Mark 8, and I think it's been crushed.

I'll keep my eye out at the junkyrd for one of those. Looks pretty big.

I dont even need to click my fan on since my cooling system is so huge. I just put it on for hardcore offraod situations or towing. I cant say I noticed much more power, but higher RPM's definetly feel and sound better. Now my truck doesnt sound so much like a UPS truck anymore haha.

I bought my Mark VIII fan from this site a long time ago for about $150.00. http://www.rockauto.com/
The Mark VIII fan is 21.75 wide x 19 high x 5.75 deep. 4,000 CFM is hard to top for that price.

I ordered my chip from Total Diesel Performance. I'll take a video after I install it. I'm stoked to feel 140 extra horsepower under my foot.

Also, fabbed up some new metal brackets for my cooling fan. Front axle should be going back togehter with a Strange Engineering spool here real soon then its time to go wheelin. Locker in the back and a fully locked front axle and 700 ft lbs of torque.....I think I can get through some nasty stuff.

Wait what? Spool in the front? Is this thing strictly for offroad or you going to daily drive it? Or do you mean a spool for the rear and a locker for the front?

Spool will be fine in the front of his truck as it's running locking front hubs. So when he's not offroading it the fronts will freewheel and the diff won't be turning whatsoever.

Ok I couldnt tell from the pics if it had locking hubs.

Why go from annoyingly loud, stinky and thirsty to annoyingly loud, stinky, thirsty, smoke-spewing and not-especially-fast?

Annoyingly loud? Ha! That is rich. You are funny. There is nothing better than the sound of a snarling V-8 coming to life.

If you are going to run a spool getting some upgraded axles wouldn't be a bad idea. Are thos Ford differentials running bolt in axles? That's one thing I wish the Chevy 12 bolts would have had. The rear end I set up for racing will get C-clip eliminators.

I think it's got the stock stuff that came with the HD version. not everybody can afford to swap out rear ends and the like.

'course, if I had something like this, I'd be getting screamed at to swap out to a quad cab long bed with a cap.

Update: I got the front diff put back together. New 4.10 ring and pinion, Strange Eng. spool, Richmond install kit, Aluminum finned diff I had powder coated white/ Gr.8 bolts, new seals, bearings all that good stuff.

I Waxed it today with triple stage Mothers wax, and took a few pics.
