Getting the perfect line and drive out of Spoon is critical to a good lap time, as it leads onto the long uphill straight to 130R. A compromised exit can easily cost a full second by the time you arrive at the next corner.
I could never really nail Spoon the right way on the last TT there.

You're right. Though I never had any particular trouble with the Spoon - in GT or any other "sim" that featured it. I see it as pretty similar to the "turns 1 & 2" complex.

........Nah, others are pushovers. :D
Wait a sec, you did finish all 'em license tests, did ya? I mean, there are couple of really eeevvviiilll ones hidin' in S license tests...

Just silvers in S license tests. Gold in all the others. So these mission races, s mission races and s license tests are all i have to do.

Well I just blew 1 1/2 hours of my life I won't get back & still can't knock this thing out. This is the only mission race I have left. Have golds on all the others, & golds on the license tests. If I can herd than sow of a Veyron around Ascari not sure why this one should be such a chore. I guess I will attempt to use the wheel. I am flatly awful with the stupid wheel still. I have a profile to start at novice to learn to drive with the wheel. I guess I just have to keep hammering on this stupid thing. I have to stop though before I spike the controller through the TV screen...

I can't tie my shoes or pick my nose with a controller--I'm not sure how people can drive a car with them. I haven't really tried, but it just seems wrong.

With a G27, these missions aren't bad.

I do love a conspiracy theory, but there is just something off about this one...

Sure thing, the wheel's the way to go. Problem is it's not enough to just buy the damn thing. You'll have to buy a stand. And then a proper seat. And then you'll need space. And so on.

I have a wheelstand pro, which folds up and out of the way. I just wheel in an office chair instead of a dedicated rig.

Yeah, this is the only one that is such a pain. I blew a couple more hours on it, spiked the controller (bad plan). I tried with my wheel but I'm just not that comfortable with it. It will remain incomplete a while longer for me. You only win a 430 Scud, I have 2, & I can afford more:)

Guess I'm gonna give the IA coffee breaks a go...

This thread has piqued my curiosity, since I don't recall struggling with this one. Gonna have another crack at it tonight...

I don't think it was this painful at one time. I think I had gotten gold back when the game first launched. The old system went belly up, so I had to start over. I think this is an old super license test from GT5, & I don't think it was too hard there either. I am about 0.15 seconds off the pace with a DS3, & just can't seem to shave it any further. We won't talk of my terribly slow runs with the G27. (I'll learn to use this wheel yet)

Yeah I'm stuck at 47.215. Is that where you are? There's just something not right about it. I just can't shave that off...

No, I need 15/100, you only need 15/1000:) You are much closer than I am. Every time I pass my ghost I get spit off the track, or lose traction & spin it out. Or sometimes both:)...

I lost a full hour yesterday with that damn Supra! but i did it. i use a DS3, ABS=1, Steering Sensitivity=7 Automatic Gearbox and... SRF (i hate it, but was really helpful). I did the first part with calm, just trying to following the line, but the most important is the one before the last corner, i touched the brakes about 80m before and then turned right (here the SRF is very important, if you don't have a steering wheel), then at last corner i overtaked the GT-R inside, using it to help me to steer. I was 0.05 slower than Gold but after some tries with this method i made 46.9XX.
Good luck ;)

Nah, it's fine. I did it last year and don't remember any difficulty. I tried it again last week and golded it again on the second or third try (sub 46.800). I don't think anything has changed.

I use no assists other than ABS1. I really think the key is to learn the first turn well, and pass the first car on the outside at the last apex. As you enter the straight before the S's, the second car will be almost close enough to draft, and you can pass around Dunlop.

If you can gold the last two S licenses, the last Senna race, and the Redbull at Goodwood, then you can do this. I think you just need to figure out that first turn--after that you should have no difficulty.

My first couple of retries resulted in a 47.5XX. (DFGT wheel, manual transmission & only ABS 1) Then I tried active steering on strong & got a 46.525 by really attacking the course. Took active off & got a 47.039, once again really attacking. I agree with Jbaffoh, turn 1 is key. Brake as little as possible (I mainly used gears to slow down) & pass the first car on the outside. Then maintain a rhythm through the esses & try & pass the second car before the first part of Degner Curve...

To sum up, I don't think that is has been changed, in my opinion...
