Idea for a Tournament

This is tournament concept ive been thinking about for a while, and i need some feedback as to whether it is good or bad, or whether or not it would work.

1st round:

25 racers all do a one lap time trial (with a chosen car, and a chosen track. 2 wheels on track at all times etc...) After the time trial, all racers will be "seeded" by how they finished. (fastest time = 1 seed, slowest time = 25 seed)

2nd round:

The racer's seed determines the "pool" they are in. There will be 5 pools (A,B,C,D,E) The top five seeds will be in the top spot of each seed. This is how the pools would look.

POOL A: 1,6,11,16,21 (seeds)
POOL B: 2,7,12,17,22
POOL C: 3,8,13,18,23
POOL D: 4,9,14,19,24
POOL E: 5,10,15,20,25

Now the pools must work as a team to advance to the fianl round. Each team will be in its own race. (probably the same track as round one. No rules as far as 2 wheels on track/clean laps though) The team with the fastest race advances to the final round. Time starts when the first racer crosses the starting line, and time ends when the last racer crosses the finsh line.

3rd round:

the final pool races for the championship.


Let me know if this is a good idea or not. Good or bad criticism is appreciated

The idea about pool's working together to get the fastest overall time sound a little strange becouse I think its not much up to teamwork it's more about how fast is the leader's pace.
I would find it more interesting if the top 3 advance to the next round, atleast you have something to race for in the pool races.

Yeah, the "pools round" was my concern as well, but I think you might not understand it, the time starts when the first car crosses the start line, and the time ends when the last car corsses the finish line, so its not all about the leader, more so that the cars all stay together and not spread out too far. Thanks for the reply though

I understand your idea but I rather be racing in the pool races than working with my oponents.
Just my opinion, I hope you make it work 👍

ok, that makes sense. I just thought maybe i would mix it up and have opponents work together as opposed to always battleing one another

I kinda like this concept. Five might be too high a number for a 'team' though. Maybe.

sorry but i missed the team the part. so i don't like the idea so much anymore. if you drop the team part, then it might turn out an great event.

2 winners of each pool go through to the final race and will battle it out for the championship

Numbers 3 and 4 can battle it out in the losers/mini championship.

Something like that.

If you do it like that. You can have 2 or maybe 3 events to take part in.

Well if this are rules I would like to join.
I am also the team captian of IRT team we have 11 members that will probably join also,so i think you should change the rules in your first post and we can get started.
