I really like some of the Need For Speed games, there is nothing like racing through traffic while trying to win a race. But it would be nice if the NFS physics were a bit more realistic. So yesterday I came up with an idea for a new kind of street racing club in GT6. Obviously there is no AI traffic in GT6, but what if we could recreate the traffic with human players? Of course it would be difficult to recreate extremely busy roads, but it wouldn't be impossible to create some stray traffic.

So my idea is the start a club of racers where each race a few players will be the actual racers and the rest of the players will cruise at a normal driving speed (120/130 km/h or 55/60 mp/h?) and play the role of traffic. Now this may sound kind of boring, but of course the tables will be turned for every race (although you would still have to cruise more often than race, because obviously more players will have to cruise than actually race) and there are already people cruising just for fun. So why not combine cruising and racing?

Now you ask: 'How do I tell if a player is a racer or traffic?', well the same way you would tell in NFS or similar games: by car! There would be a list of cars that cruisers are allowed to drive in and racers would be allowed to drive in all other cars.

Note: I have never started or been member of a club. So I have absolutely no experience with clubs. This is just an unpolished idea I came up with. I just thought I'd share it here.

Please vote to let me know how many people are interested in joining such a club. If you have any additional ideas or comments please post in this thread! :)

If people drive at two different speeds, the slower ones will obviously get lapped eventually. Why not increase the excitement by having the slower cars drive in the opposite direction! If you agree which side of the road cars should drive, you could have half the drivers cruise round at say 60mph. The cars which are racing would go in the correct direction for the game, but would need to stay on the correct side of the road to avoid any time losing impacts with oncoming traffic. This could be quite fun - I can picture it working well at special stage route 5.

Thanks a lot for the feedback! That does sound like a better idea. :) I will discuss the idea with the organizers of the Hajime racers club, of which I just became a member today, what they are doing is already awesome, so maybe this could make Wangan racing even more fun!

Here is my two cents worth. 8 players in 500pp cars, 8 players in 300pp cars. Both groups race their PP class cars. You will have a winner from each class. Faster cars will overtake the slower, there is your traffic. Slower cars get to race as well. Problem solved. 500pp and 300pp used only as an example.

Thanks for your input! :) I personally don't believe this would be the same as 'normal' traffic though.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I have meanwhile discussed this idea with an organizer of Hajime Racers, but he doesn't think it would work out at HR unfortunately, so I am thinking of starting my own street racing club, which would implement this idea alongside other forms of street racing.
