No really? Because Milestone said they made a a great both sim and arcade experience in MotoGP 13 and 14 and there you can't even fall off if you "floor it" leaning backwards. And that's on the most monsterous bikes in the world. It's a nice idea but personally - and I've never ridden a motorbike - I think it needs more than just handlebars. On a real bike I've heard it can be quite tricky to hold on if you pin the throttle and falling off (or the threat of falling off) is all part of it
*sarcasm off*
I've seen the handlebar argument before and I don't really believe in it if the comparison is car-sims with a wheel sitting on your ordinary chair in front of your screen. Tourist Trophy and SBK 08 proves that I think (and SBK 09 was so close to being great had it not had psycho rear wheel required braking). Those games educates the player with a standard controller to catch wind to brake more effectively, to hit exact right cornering speed and lean and having to get the bike up straight before giving full throttle. And punish you if you didn't. I could almost feel it. I rode minibikes well because of it.
It is difficult enough to get someone to even make a good game. Hoping for specialised controls is too much to ask and not even all that needed if you ask me. And I'm not sure how those would work. I've seen Inside Simracing try some custom stuff.
Look at some brilliant custom options Tourist Trophy had with rider style and such. NOBODY copied that in any later game. WHY is that? Because they just don't understand is the only answer I can find. It's majorly depressing.
