Well i posted a similar post in another thread, and i was wondering if i would ever be able to drive the Mclaren because i don't have GT4P. Most of the people said that the McLaren probably wouldn't be taken out. But you could be right ViperGTSR....that would be bad. I hope PD won't make the same mistake with the mclaren as they did with the Diablo......even though i have the diablo

I will have to agree. They've taken out the Mercedes CLK-GTR in GT2. They taken out the Nomad Diablo JGTC in GT3, and Im pretty sure the Fina McLaren F1 GTR Longtail will be taken out of GT4.

Now now, you have to at least have a bit of hope...i doubt it will be taken out, i doubt any prolouge cars will be taken out, mainly because it's practicly been in a gran turismo now...GT4 is defently more then a demo, yes it's a demo...but it's still more then one if that makes sence. If it gets taken out...im just gonna snap .

I don't understand why it would be taken out. PD obviously has the rights to it because GT4P is NOT a demo. They are already making money off of it, so there should be no reason they would have to take it out.

But the McLaren's already been in GT4: Prologue. They wouldn't take out a car they already put in the Prologue of GT4. Would they?

Of course they can, Prologue was only meant for the japanese market and not overseas. Jus like how the Nomad Diablo was only available on the japanese version of GT3. Jus don expect anything till the game is actually near completion and we know all the details.

Don't forget that the Fina McLaren has ties with BMW. Don't ask me how. That could be why it's in GT4.

Or else McLaren wants their cars to be in the GT series so what they've done is allowed PD to put that one in to see how it would look in the game

It may be that PD have rights to JGTC cars in Japan, but not rights to specific cars outside of Japan.

The thing that to me seems odd about them calling the car a BMW, is the fact that if they couldn't use the actual McLaren name, how could they use the McLaren and McLaren F1 logos?

It is a sweet drive, the mclaren FINA....but not THAT sweet. Compare it to the Nissan R390 race car in GT3, same feel the McLaren has a little bit better turn in but feels like it has less grunt out of turns.

Now the Takata NSX in GT4P....THAT car is amazing!

Wasn't the car a Mclaren/BMW project for Lemans in 97? Wasn't Mclaren running merc engines in 97 in F1? I know williams was Honda or renault then right?

Is it even the same Mclaren?

In Formula 1 McLarens started using Merc engines, but the F1 GT race and road cars all used BMW engines.

Mclaren F1 designer Gordon Murray never wanted the car to race so Mclaren (alledgedly) put little effort into preparing the race cars for Le Mans in 1995.

I saw a tv programe today with one of those cars converted to road legal aaagggghhh the sound does anyone with GT4P know if the exhaust sound is good not like GT3 anyway??

When I put my headphones on and play GT4P with the Mclaren (I tried just for you) it rattles me, it sounds silky smooth and mean....pushing the McLaren out of the dunlop hairpin at Fuji in 3rd makes you smile.... GT3 sounds by comparison sounds "tin'ny"...

The reason Mclaren has ties with BMW is because the Mclaren F1 GTR has a BMW V12 Power Plant.

Ah, but Prologue wasn't only made for the Japanese market. It was also made for Chinese speaking regions, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore. Although I only know for certain that it was sold officially in Hong Kong I don't know about the other places I mentioned.

Personally, I love the McLaren F1. I have a streetcar version of it on my shelf as a scale car. I would love to see many variations of this race car. I STILL think it is the most powerful car in the world (from my "McLaren F1 vs. Ferrari Enzo" topic).

The most notable is the Gulf McLaren F1. They don't get this one in, they're missing out on a popular McLaren. And if they don't get it in the game, that would be like not putting the Tennssee Volunteers in the next NCAA Football game.

Come on, PD! By the way, the McLaren should be the ultimate car to any garage. If you can't own one in real life, you can sure as hell get one in the game. Thank those incredible Japanese and non-Japanese working on Gran Turismo 4, folks. They will give you a great game that you may need to take extended vacations for. Just hope you get paid vacation, though...
