Ignore Users?

I thought there used to be an "Ignore User" button. I finally have a use for it but I can't find it. Maybe I saw this feature on another site's forum...

My GTPlanet -> Settings and Options -> Edit Ignore List.

I don't believe it works like that. When you ignore someone, they can still see every one of your posts and can like, quote, and report your posts too. The only time someone can't see your posts is if they're ignoring you.

I have no problem in reporting or seeing my posts. But I was thinking when you ignore someone he couldn't be able to contact you through PM, quote or tag you.

As mentioned, that's not how the ignore feature works. It just hides that user's content from you on the forum, it does not hide you from them - they will have no knowledge that they are on your ignore list, aside from the fact that you may never respond to any of their messages.

I think they can attempt to do all of that stuff, but it won't matter to you because you will not receive any alerts from them and their posts will not show up in a thread you are viewing.

Their status updates will keep showing regardless of their ignored status, though. Kind of irritating.

Just let them know you are ignoring them so even if they reply or tag you they know you will not read or reply them anymore.

You're misunderstanding. I mean the status updates, as in the stuff you write on your profile and then is published on the main page of the forums. They show up even when that member's ignored.
