Maybe we should race.. looking just to try out the online racing have not tried yet... I want to have fun not to compete with the professionals... I am still new to this

More or less... Everybody! :)
You must practice the track doing all corners in diferent lines, all corner inside side, and all corner outside side of the track. In race you can't do always the "perfect" line out-in-out.
Practice diferents lines, braking soon, braking late...
You have to find your own rhythm. Don't try follow the drivers who are more faster than you... Be patient, don't try to overtake in all corners... wait for other drivers mistakes, don't make own mistakes...going a few corners close to another driver will put him under pressure...
Practice, practice, practice... there's no secrets.

Go fast enough to shadow the first-place car, and make them crumble under the pressure -- not through contact, but by poking your nose out to pass (but not passing) and occupying their mirrors, inches from their bumper. Unless the person is particularly good, with nerves of steel and ice in their veins, they'll most likely crack.

Good luck!

👍

I think he has problem with speed in race not with overtaking. I agree with your tactics, but you must know how to do it right otherwise you bump him out of track as many others do on purpose.

You need to stay cool and don't worry about cars behind you. Find some guys who race clean and practice with them.

I love driving under pressure. So exciting!
But I usually spin out when racing close to other drivers. After that however, when they're 10 seconds ahead, I catch them up pretty easily.

Generally, I find it difficult driving in the middle of the pack. I'd rather be first or last... And I find it much easier to overtake people 1 by 1.

You just have to ignore what everyone else is doing until the time comes to overtake. However it can be difficult to do when you see them pulling ahead.

Just remember that going flat out around a corner might not set you up perfectly for following corners, so try not to push it.

Also alot of people have this problem, so if you're behind someone but cant pass, stay right up behind them, move out at every corner exit and straight, to make it look like you're making a move. Great way to force mistakes.

Just try and focus on what's infront of you and not behind you. If you see someone coming up behind you then you need to relax, not get tense. Just get used to it, it happens all the time so don't view it as an issue because then it will make matters worse.

There will always be faster guys than yourself, most people on this forum would agree at some stage or in some race or another, someone will be faster than you.

You have to change your mentality, accept this and you'll relax more, the more you relax the more you can focus, the more you focus the less mistakes you make and the more consistent (and subsequently faster) you'll become.

I used to be exactly the same, I would start to sweat and panic when someone was closing me down, then I accepted I'm only about 6-7/10 as a driver and alot of people are better than me. After this I started to relax a bit and found that I made less mistakes generally, which meant over the course of a whole race I was actually a bit quicker.

Just try and get used to be more relaxed when racing, practice concentrating on what's infront and focus on your braking points etc and not thinking about who or what's behind you.

True, which is why I suggested not passing -- just feign and shadow. It can be very relaxing, and somewhat of a confidence booster, to know that you don't have to pass the car in front, but you're fast enough to keep pace. Also, breathe!

Edit: This is assuming the car you're following is a quality driver. If their skills are poor, get the Hell around them post haste!

You just have to try and focus on your own race and not worry about what anyone else is doing as you have no control over their actions.

Going off a comment before though ... I love overtaking more than one car at once, I love being behind two guys who are fighting away and then I manage to go down the inside of both of them lol! Great fun! You can just imagine the frustration lol :P

I sometime snap on the last lap on the last few turns. Heart starts pounding and I end up going off the track or somehow mess it up. Not always but its been known to happen.

My biggest problem is trying to stuff one last / more choccy cookie into my fat face (whilst going along a straight) before I have to brake and change down for the inevitable corner.

I always always go for ''just one more''.....then it's oh 🤬 that was the braking point 50 yards back.

Crash.

:banghead:

Just tell yourself "I just drove a perfect or almost perfect lap(s) by my standard and i have caught them up .. Now i am in the lead or closing to the position i want i can drive perfect lap(s) still as they are "slower than i am" I just proved that to them by catching them up .. Think positive as your action were !! Remember if you caught them up they are slower than you around the track don't get flustered get focused on YOUR game and keep it up.Once you let panic in mistakes happen look at the your past lap times and make it them you future times ! Practice makes perfect.

Don't drive on your limit, when you are under pressure you think too much you drive allong and then start thinking about the braking point rather then just doing it subconsiously. Don't pressure yourself just go with the flow. This happens to me ussually on the last couple of laps when I race.

Just RELAX, deep breaths.

Awesome advise guys,Yea i was thinking about pretending NO other drivers are around and I have the track to myself...but thats easier said than done!
