I'm itching to know what new DLC is

PD needs to release DLC which content suits and appeal the "regular" consumer, or better, what people are more willing to give their money for. As an example, what do you think would sell more, and "supercar pack" or an "japanese pack" huh? Are people more likely to drive a Gumpert Apollo and Koenigsegg CCX or more japanese stuff or TC huh?

Well, seeing that a lot of copies are sold in Japan, and the GT series's most loyal fans are from Japan. I think they have reason to make more Japanese cars. Do I like it? Nope. I'd like more FIA GT cars.

*edit* maybe not most loyal.

Well, PD is too quiet latelly.

Either they are very busy working on the update, testing, etc... or something went wrong. Based on the last DLC, we should be getting some info around Dec. 15th. As we need to be prepared for DLC and all, what you guys think?

I'm saying this because we got an explosion of tweets by Kaz when they were about to release the last DLC.

I know some of you guys are all about the mega-blistering edge of all things automotive, but I probably have more fun in a Peugeot 307 modded to 250hp and something BTCC-like than I do a Ford GT. Sure, if it's a supercar pack I'll buy it, but if it's not and some of you turn your noses up at it, your loss. Racing in the low class cars as well as the mega-cars is what Gran Turismo is all about.

Couldn't agree more. I find the Vitz RS so much fun!

I can't agree with you more. 450-500 pp is alot of fun. Gt300 an the various tcc series fit right in that range. Would love to see some later model years in this range. Even if they are street models with rm option.

+1.

As much as I envy some cars on the great car list from that "other" game (damn I want an E36 more than my next breathe.)

If one day, GT becomes a game without the everyday, simple, old and cheap cars it'll not feel as a GT anymore.

First thing I do on every GT game: buy an used car.

A dream is to have an UCD with really damaged and beaten cars, like the Old NFS Porsche had. It was awesome to restore the cars.

Best post on GTP, period. 👍

I'd like to see the current cars get the RM version, starting with all FIA GT1/GT2/GT3/GT4 cars, followed by BTCC/WTCC cars, yes touring cars real under 2.5L touring cars!

i'd prefer somthing like porshes and more ferrari supercars in a GT5 part in ps store not in packs but seperately, so i dont have to get more tc nissans for about £1.00 each

I'm itching to find out what the new DLC is going to be.

EDIT. Thanks for keeping GT5 ALIVE PD, Kaz and Staff, Happy Holidays to you and your families.

You are "itching" to know, and I am "itching" to buy.:sly:

Agreed. Thanks to everyone at PD for keeping this game updated and happy holidays as well.

Thanks for the tups, guys, and dittos to what mikeonthebike says. ;)

I want to hasten to add that I don't sneer at supercars. I love mine too. I'm doing several runs with a modded F430 Scuderia in the online Ferrari race for credits and having a blast. I adore my Aston Martins, Ford GTs and Jaguars I've hopped up to 600-700hp and some to Stage 3 weight reduction. And of course there are all the real race cars, love 'em all. I'm not afraid of the Big Guns.

But there's a big reason why I enjoy the heck out of lower powered racing. With the high performance supercars and race cars, a single mistake can send you far back in the field, perhaps dead last, and cost you the race as you limp along way behind the pack. There are perhaps three or five of the most skilled and patient drivers way ahead of the pack in a 16 car field, and the rest in clumps or singly strung out behind, with the distances getting longer and longer as the race wears on.

With lower powered cars, the racing is usually close and competitive. A mistake might not cost you much of anything, or you could drop a few places, but then you can pick right up and see if you can make it up. With good racers, each car in an entire field can be separated by tenths of a second. When I'm fighting in a pack at fifth place to grab fourth and not get passed myself, and it goes on lap after lap with me hanging close to some guy's bumper while the one behind is doing the same thing to me, and little changes at the finish line, I don't care, it's AWESOME because the racing is so intense. Mean machines with several hundred horses are understandably fun to race, but this is why I like both ends of the spectrum, and everything in between.

By all means, THIS. I'm hoping as much as Kaz loves and is aware of all these racing leagues, that he does a big update to the Race Mod system, so we can make race cars for various leagues out of appropriate sports cars. And with at least a few livery templates this time, if not some sort of editor.

The lower powered (budget formula) produces great racing. Look at Indycar and Grand-Am. Grand-Am is continuing to grow because they use such a low power and cost effective formula. Plus the racing is usually phenomenal. The FIA GT series just switched to GT3 to "save money" Those costs are soon to go through the roof just like the death of GT, and GT1. IMSA is DEAD in the US, it's just a matter of time, and few old grudges keeping it alive.

Oh man we can only hope! It would only take 1 maybe 2 DLC packs of the same size as the last one to cover all of this cars, all we need ist the cars to be between 1100/1150kg and we can manage the classing with weight and power!

Not at all.

PD has already modeled a 2013 Japanese car (Scion, Subaru). I'm sure they could have easily made a Koenigsegg from '08 or '09 or '10 by now. But their preference of cars is a bit different than most games.

Secondly, it's probably a bit foolish to think they've only made 15 RM's since Nov. 2010. PD knows they have to remain at least somewhat current, so I am sure they have other cars locked away for GT6 or future DLC. Just like Turn10 has already modeled the Aventador, PD could have easily as well. Maybe they'd rather save it for a Xmas release. Either way, it'd be cool to see it gets its own promotional video like the BRZ, FR-S.

I don't see how thinking this is foolish, expecting 3 new cars now is what I think, a little foolish. Since November 2010, I think what went into most of their time was modeling Spa Francorchamps and Kart Space. So expecting three new cars seems like a lot to ask for, unless they were asking for them as standard cars, which would actually be way more realistic and possible.

I wouldn't be surprised if spa was done before the game went into sale. What you guys fail to see here is that now a days this is the trend for the High profile video game developers. Release the game, then after 10-12 months start releasing DLC packs, with total of 3 DLC packs roughly ammounting to the original price of the game... Welcome to today's video game industry, get used to it!

In response to this: I would simply say that GT is heading down a gloomy road if this were the case. Truly frightening. But this is just speculation.

Considering how incomplete and poorly planned out the release was of GT5.. what makes you think they planned out DLC months ahead?
We’ll make sure to live up to the expectations…
^ Sounds more like Kaz is under development of the DLC than more like sitting back and waiting to release it whenever he felt like it. That's just what I think, I know there's companies that do release DLC at the same time they would release the game, but I really don't think Kaz did that with GT5.

Do you honestly believe they are amateurs? This guys are professionals, the GT franchise is a Plastation flagship, the guys at PD are buissiness people before they are car people. Do you think Sony would keep backing them up if the entire life span of the game wasn't laid out before even going into production? Do you honestly think Kaz woke up one day thinking today I shall make a new DLC pack!! No my friend the world of video gaming is a billion dollar industry, everything every detail, ebvery partnership is presicely planned and calculated. Before the product even hits the production stages.

I agree with the theory of Spa having been done before the game was released.

Or at the very least, it was CLOSE to being done but wasn't just quite finished yet. I can see this happening with a lot of content that was still in the process of being finished before they set it aside for GT5.

Also, I agree that more BTCC/WTCC/etc. type cars are much more fun than the latest and greatest supercars (although I still like those). I'd much rather see Concept cars before production cars as well, because few if any people get to drive those, so I consider it more of a privileged and treat to drive something like that (ex: Sesto Elemento, anyone?)

And this is a huge shot in the dark, but I'd love to see Argentinian TC2000 touring cars as well as one or two Brazilian Stock cars included in the game. From what I've seen I can say that those cars are fantastic.

But this isn't a wishlist thread so I'll shut up before I write three pages of all the types of cars I'd like to see as DLC/GT6 content.

Excellent posts and I agree with both completely. 👍

I heard that we are all getting Red Rider bb guns. Fingers crossed!

HAHA...."You'll shoot your eye out" love that movie

I'm sure they do have a plan ahead of time. I'm also sure that that plan can change if circumstances dictate. They can also have different options planned out that change depending on certain variables. For instance maybe the plan for DLC wasn't to release it after 11 months, but instead after 10 million copies sold, etc. They could have a plan to release one batch of DLC then have different release schedules and content planned depending on the sales figures of that first batch. They also might see another franchise or game doing something that is extremely successful that they hadn't planned for. Perhaps they would make changes to try and cash in on some of that success.

Given that so many people basically told PD "Yep, we'll buy anything you throw at us" with the first DLC pack I really wouldn't be surprised to see more RM cars and other recycled models as 'new' DLC cars.

If they do, the people that bought the first lot only have themselves to blame.

I wouldn't mind it at all, in fact I'm hoping that's the case! I hope that those FIA GT, DTM and WTCC cars metioned in past interviews make themselves into the game via RM/TC DLC Packs. We already have most if not all of those cars in their road going versions, convert them into RM/TC versions. I don't mind that they don't call them FIA GT1/GT2/GT3 cars just make it happen!

Kaz stated that future DLC would depend on how the first batch sold. In other words, if no one bought the first batch, it is possible that we would not receive DLC after that point, screwing everyone instead of people like you whom dont like the TC models. Kinda seems like a lose/lose situation given we dont start receiving "good" DLC in your opinion. Personally I love my new TC cars.

Well, honestly, I used only 20% of the DLC cars, but I not only used almost all the paints but I liked them so much I've bought another 4 sets. And I loved the tracks, specially Spa. The suits, yeah the Stig ones are cool, want more colors of them and more open helmets, right now I'm using the Peter Solberg one, because it really stands out when I look at my driver inside the car, its different. More suits? Yeah, I like that if they are different.

Even if I don't use much the cars, I like to have them, and I buy them to support PD. That way the DLC was a success and we're going to have more stuff. It's not just a matter of what ME and YOU want. It's about all the community. Some hates Skylines, some love them. I love Bimmers and I wouldn't care about having a DLC pack only with them, but as said in a post before, it would be a boring pack with only 1 brand. So, long live to variety and I hope we get something that more people like this time. I see lots of people that loves the RM, TC, LM cars. In my case, I like a lot more the street ones. Then I would be pissed of with a TC only DLC? No. I hope there'll be DLC for everyone! :)

I think they may do some stuff differently now. I expect more tracks for sure. About cars? I really don't know.

And the PD silence is oficially killing me. But I know what's that. I think the new DLC info may be about to show up. Almost Dec. 10th. Xmas is on Dec. 25th, lots of people will be spending their money on GT5 and DLC... they gotta show us the stuff in enough time to be prepared for that.

Luckly I always have my good old GTR2 with a mod encyclopedia available around the net, so if PD let me down this Christmas I can always go grab some of the real word race tracks and racecars overthere. I have to confess having a second simulator help me mitigate the shortcomings while playing GT5 and help me to appreciate it even more. What I can't do here I do overthere and viceversa. If you want a particular car/track/class so bad, go ahead and try to find it somewhere else. Who said we can't play GT5 toghether with another sim?
