I don't deny there are Corvette/Mustang/Camaro/etc. drivers that do the same to imports, but at I least I haven't seen any pics of those people in the hot rods and muscle cars thread.

It doesn't even make sense why people would gave the finger to someone who has an "inferior" car. The picture makes me thing the driver gave him the finger, and left. The Corvette driver must have been like "...the hell did he do that for?".

Of course, the whole picture could have been staged, and that's probably the case. No way someone would have a camera at the right moment, and took the pic at the right time.

Sorry, the attitude is still there. Just deal with any random Subaru Impreza meet up. They simply think they have the absolute best cars all around period ever. And then talk out their ass some more about mods, try to drive hard and fail, etc.

I live in the mountains, so my town is FULL of Subaru's. About 90% of my friends own one, and your description doesn't match to any of them. These guys know how to mod their cars, and they know how to drive them. Including one that has a bone stock 2004 STi, with nothing more than a small re-flash of the ECU and some r-compound tires. He is within a couple seconds of the lap record at my local track, which is currently held by a motorcycle powered lotus 7 replica. That makes him the fastest car with doors to ever lap that track.

How about an STi that runs high 11's at the drag strip?
Maybe a '96 wagon with a 2005 WRX swap running E85?

That pretty much happens with about every type of car group. You'll always have a few bad apples in each group, but it shouldn't give people the impression that everyone in that group is like that.

And yes, I have tons of Subaru people around here too, living in an area where snow is an issue for at least a third of the year.

But you are just arguing how fast they are. Try changing the spark plugs on an STi in your driveway, and let me know how that goes.

Around here, at a college town, the vast majority of Subaru guys are 18 to 20 somethings that have some of daddy's money and bought a WRX because it has AWD and won't get stuck in the snow, and it is what Ken Block drives.

The WRX/EVO crowd has a much, much larger demographic of "bros" driving them, and they are the top pick among Frat guys. And the simply refuse to acknowledge some of the faults of AWD or Turbos. Most all of the ones I've dealt with, and I've dealt with most of the clubs around here for them, tend to think AWD + Turbo = BEST CAR ON EARTH.

Subaru's are fine, not bad cars. Interior quality is meh and I won't own one because I like being able to work on them in my driveway. But the cars are what they are = hopped up econo-boxes.

Glad to say the Nissan group isn't like that because, well, it's only myself and my friend with an R32 GT-R. And since both of us work for well known performance shops, I think we know what we're doing.

Different areas have their bad groups. The issue, like I said with the Subaru thing, is a lot of poeple from Western Washington are terrified of snow, and tend to think AWD >>>>> any snow, regardless of tires/driver skill.

No. Just like performance Econo-box. A performance small car that has quality would be a 135i, or a Cayman. Or an IS350, and so on. The people I deal with here will argue on end how their STi is in every way better than an M3, or a Cayman, or any other upper end sports car. And I don't hate STi's and WRXs, but I've driven them, a lot, and the interiors are a cheap sea of plastic.

You are just looking at drag times and numbers. I'm looking at the whole of the car.

I agree with Azuremen for the most part. His description of the average, wealthy college "broah" pretty closely describes the scene around here in easter Virginia (strictly speaking of EVO/WRX owners in that age range who more likley than not are college students). Back when I used to autocross, the guys from VA Tech would come up, three of them owning Evo 8s and two with whatever the latest STIs were back then. Their driving also matched Azuremen's remark and really you cant expect much else from them beyond what Azuremen was pointing out. I live in Harrisonburg, VA. A growing college town and home to James Madison University. There's a JMU car club called Madison Motorsports and also consists of the stareotypical EVO/STI college broah owners who think their cars brake the laws of physics (among others) but really do nothing more than Sunday cruises and the occational Madison Motorsports meet (Not to say there aren't other people from other "scenes" who do the same).
Earlier I said "for the most part" simply because there will always be a few exceptions.

Also considering replacing my mirrors with the little chrome ones too but not got the money for them at the moment.

Thats true for the majority of wheels out there, the STYLE has become popular. It still brings a smile to my face when the thought that I have legit Watanabes comes to my head. Maybe if I lived in south cali at the pinacle of the jdm tyte scene that wouldnt be the case.
