This package is offered through Mitsubishi for about $4200 on top of MSRP.

SO I CHOOSE THE VISHNU!!!!!!!

http://www.vishnu-performance.com/lancer_stage_zero_2.htm

Vishnu isn't a part of Mitsubishi. If you notice, they also tune Subarus. It's a seperate tuning company, and no, you don't buy it with the car.

As far as the WRC goes, I don't thing Subaru has a higher reputation. Mitsubishi killed the competition last year, with a truely amazing driver, he won practically every course. Unfortunatly I can't remember his name.

In every magazine comparison I read, (C&D, R&T, SCC) all of them rated the Evolution as being funner and more agile of the two cars, but the US Spec STi is clearly faster than the US Spec Evolution. I doubt it would take much to the STi to get it as nimble as the Evolution. I've talked it over with a Subaru buddy and we're thinking a different alignment and a slightly bigger rear sway bar would make the handling much better.

Personally, I'll take the STi over the Evolution any day. Both amazing cars none the less though.

Even so, a better driver doesn't mean the car is better. You also have to understand that you're talking about WRC, where the cars are modified and tuned to the point where they are nothing like the original car. I think we're talking about street/circuit driving/racing.

And, yes, Vishnu is a 3rd party company that has no relation to either Subaru or Mitsu. Also for the record, Mitsubishi's answer to the 2004 STi is the EvoVIII MR.

Right. I meant the car, not the company. Sorry about that. But I know a Lancer Evolution killed the competition.

I wasn't talking about the car, I was talking about reputation. Winning a huge championship like that will definatly give the driver/car more reputation than last place.

No Lancer Evos competed in the entire WRC calender. The championship was won by Peugeot, with the driver's title going to Petter Solberg in the Subaru Impreza.

I say impreza all the way.

Mitsubishi built engines for japanese zeros and committed war crimes by using u.s. p.o.w. soldiers as slaves at coal mine sites. (baton death march anyone? )

F' mitsubishi.

Too bad the evo is such a bad ass car, other wise it would be really easy for me to totally hate them.

Here. SCCA Pro Rally. David Higgins and Daniel Barritt won, IN A MITSUBISHI EVOLUTION IN 2003 (not yelling, just proving my sanity). I think I was getting WRC and SCCA mixed up.

Is this a joke or your honest view?

Well...

Mitsu did build the zero engines. (fact)

Mitsu did own coal mines which employed the use of American P.O.W.s (fact)

It is just my opinion that mitsubishi is not as good as subaru, but it is fact that mitsubishi did the things mentioned above.

Mitsu is a company that will not apologize or admit to what they have done, but that doesn't suprise me... if any of you know your history, you will also know that japan's government still hasn't done anything to right the wrongs committed at nanking. So why would mitsu set a different trend and come clean with it's wrong doing either? :irked:

Not to worry though, American P.O.W.s currently have a class action suit in the works. (although I do not think anything will happen with it... I mean, if the Japanese wouln't come clean about nanking, there is no way they are gonna come clean about abusing American P.O.W.s in forced labour scenerios)

Oh well, but atleast now you know.

Sorry to get off topic, but uh, yeah... Imprezas are awesome!

Yes - it's apparently hard for Americans to distinguish between an American series and a World series (baseball-based satire :D).

SCCA - Sports Car Club Of America. 10 rounds, all in USA.
WRC - World Rally Championship. 16 rounds, all over the World (Argentina, New Zealand, Greece, Germany and of course Rally Africa, now off the calender in favour of Japan).

David Higgins is an ex-British Rally champion. I never followed the series, so I've never heard of his co-driver. It seems that they are running full FIA Group A (WRC) spec cars, but I doubt they receive the same level of support as the WRC drivers.

But anyway, Mitsubishi didn't compete in the 2003 WRC. Fact. :D

Well, Speed Channel shows a lot of the Rallys and it was hard for me to keep up. BITE ME! Opinion. :D

For reference, my brother is currently looking at ditching his Impreza RB5 and getting an Impreza Type 25.

I'll let everyone else search for the stats -but wear a chinstrap to prevent your chin hitting anything beneath it...

RB5 Specs

I couldn't find the Impreza Type 25 Specs, it started throwing in 25RS and such, and was more time than I really wanted to spend. Seems like WRX, but a lot more torque.

The Impreza in the UK only comes as a 2.0 Boxer 4. We don't get the 2.5 engine at all. The Type25 is our first 2.5 Scooby. The specs Blobster threw at me were 350hp and 0-60mph in 3.9s (as long as you don't mind replacing the clutch).

He currently has the RB5 with the PPP (Prodrive Performance Pack) - so that page is accurate for his car :D

The Evo looks like some kid took a shoebox and slapped a ridiculous wing on the back. The Impreza looks like a mosquito.

My god that sounds amazing! The 2.5l STi doesn't touch that!

I wish there were Prodive options over here... Not that I could afford them at the current moment, but I wish. I plan on getting the P1s in gold, like these.

Hmm. More info on that one... Twin scroll turbo. And apparently "It is a modified STi that Litchfield Imports sells in the UK. Basically their own version of a 2.5 litre STi."...

Edit: Lordy! http://www.type-25.com/

350hp, 356lbft... :D

*shudders with glee* Wow. That is one amazing looking/performing car. But one question, what the hell is a twin scroll turbo?

I thought they answered that on the page... :D

"Do a search"...

It's some sort of thing whereby the two exhausts are fed into the turbo separately, allowing the same performance from a smaller turbo (or much better performance from the same size turbo). But my knowledge of car mechanics is:

Put petrol in, press loud pedal, *a miracle happens*, horizon gets closer.

The Impreza. It was the most famous car in the WRC until the Lancer took its place. But I still like the Impreza because of its superb handling, good acceleration, and great top speed.

Lancer, performance is great, handles and drifts beautifully, especially the super clean drifting. And it looks puuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurty.

I agree. I went insane when I found out that my precious Evo III wasn't in GT3. I hope it will be back in GT4. On the other hand, this isn't Initial D.

If you put the WRX STi and the EVO VIII next to each other and had to pick, I dont know what I would do. I like them both because they are both solid performers and they each have their own unique styling. Don't get me wrong when I saw unique, they both look great.
