Incorrect backfire

hey guys... so I was scrolling through the endless pages of backfire pictures and I think I found something that is wrong...

In this picture of the Toyota 7... it appears as if the backfire is coming out of what should be the turbo inlet...

I'm fairly sure that's the exhaust. there's no need for a muffler or catalyst converter so the exhaust tip can be right after the exhaust side of the turbo.

yup... you guys are correct. I found a good picture of the actual race car and its much clearer where all of the piping goes.
