Instant Last Place?

Hey guys, just picked up GT6 Today, I know little late to the party, but I keep running into an issue.



This was the first time its happened, so I filmed the replay. Its happened four times since then? Anyone know whats up?

Happened to me also sometimes... did you cut some corners before the finish line?

Nothing more aggressive then getting too deep into an apex.

A replay of the whole race would be appropriate - though, it's not counting your second lap so a replay of just that would suffice.

sometrimes if you cut a corner too much the game just don't count the lap as regular.. as Famine notice the whole replay would help a lot..

Happened to me twice, guess I had a dirty lap.

I just ran it again making sure to stay completely off the apexs, went from the last 4 races docking me a lap to a perfect run twice in a row. Guess I was cutting it too close.

Edit: I didn't think to save the whole first replay just recorded that bit on my phone. I'll keep that tip in mind for the future though.

Yes, it didn't count the lap. Happened to me when I tried to cut the track in the stupid cart race.

I noticed if you do a big cut on the track a few times you get sent straight to last place, or something like that. Not sure if it's a form of penalty of if the AI gets confused on which place you're in, maybe cutting the track messes with the positions / where the AI sees you as on the track idk

I don't cut corners online but when you're racing AI and go off onto the grass sometimes you have to cut, either that or drive all the way back just to act legit

I've only noticed this last place thing a couple of times, I was trying earlier by purposely cutting loads of corners and it didn't seem to make a difference. Maybe it only does it on certain tracks where going off track confuses the PS3 on where you are I'm not too sure.

It's like that on any track where you can cut a significant amount. Tracks like Ascari, you can literally cut the track in half, this putting you in last place penalty is to stop people from doing so. If you stop you're car for a second or two, the car will reset itself onto the track and you wont lose your place/lap - if you continue driving, it'll count as a cut.

I do wish they added a "Cut Track Penalty" prompt, it'll let people know what they did wrong.

Same thing happens on the Redbull Jnr event at Brands Hatch (and any other track that you can get reset back to track on). You get miles in front then try and cut out enough track to get yourself reset, the lap that you're on becomes invalid and your position in the race gets adjusted accordingly when you cross the finish line next.

What they should do is what they did on Forza 2- any time you went even slightly off track the penalty timer went up crazily fast, and whoever won the race is whoever had the lowest overall time. Not a single person cut a corner on Forza but on GT, cutting when racing AI there's no problem.

When racing online (by far my important) you have to _trust_ no one cuts a corner, and you can't be watching them all the time obviously. Sure you can race in friend-only super clean rooms where you all trust each other but a proper penalty system like Forza's would force people to drive clean. So many corners can be cut with the online penalty set to full, without getting a penalty, and a lot of them which you do get a penalty for, it's still quicker to take the penalty than drive clean.
