Sounds like a great idea 👍!
Will try to find a chair with flat arm rests, but do you ever hit the arm rests with your elbow :lol: ?

Maybe a couple times over the course of two years, not really. I bought the chair for 100 bucks at target and it's just another chair in my living room when I'm not using it for racing.

It would seem tricky to get in and out of but it isn't, just throw a leg over the side and stand up. I've gotten so used to it I can do it now without using my arms to push myself out.

Another benefit is your own body weight is anchoring the wheel as it's mounted to the chair itself. You can be as rough as you want with it and the wheel won't budge in the slightest. Especially nice when you use 10 forcefeedback and drive F1 cars, or enjoy drifting.

@Spa today:

It's more or less a get together.The Track is known to the seasoned competitors.So If a new member is having trouble, there will be help.

In the training lobby I encurage the use of headsets.
I can switch the communication off for driving, since it distracts me.
But you can of course use the text messages.

In the race lobby there is no talk.(disabled)
Even text messages should be kept to the absolute minumum.
(I prefer ZERO ..:sly: )

Settings in race room:

NO aids. Standard tire wear. low damage. griplevel real.

Recommended basic setup for the F10:

Settings noted Front/Rear:
Springrate: 20.0 /20.0
Dampers 1 / 1 also used: 10 / 10
1 / 1 also used: 10 / 10
Rollbars 7 / 7 also used: 1 / 1
Camber 0.00 0.00

Toe beginn with standard

Diff 5 5 20

Aero: 150 / 200

Brakebalance: 5 / 5

The car sems need extreme setups.Either/or.
Once you gotten used to it, the personal changes that make sense are
Diff and toe settings.

@ Nürburgring 24h (next training/pre saison race):

No parade lap here.:guilty:Polyphony did no good job here.Kaz should know, that in real life you start your hotlap with a run on the GP part, but then re-enter the starting-straight.
I can live with that.

I want to use weather.
Since we use tyre wear , a shower will kill your race if you are in the middle of the lap and/or have worn tyres.
In real life thats what you have to deal with, but there should be a minimum
amount of fun left.:sly:

So I want to start with a wet track and stable weather:
40% water on track
Weather : 0
Time : 08:00
Timelapse: 10
?stability?: 10
Track will dry out and stay dry.

It is possible to start on racing soft and do at least 2 in my case up to 4 laps.
My knowledgde is that on a drying track with @ 35% water, racing soft is faster.
Also the tyres will last longer.

My personal setup for this is different:
(only changes to other setup noted)

20 / 20 Diff: 5 / 60 / 60
1 / 7
3 / 1
1 / 7
0.0 / 0.2
-0.35 +0.95

@ weather:

on all other shorter tracks we should/could do "normal weather".
Suggestions?

Hope to see some of you today.

I know.It is just me posting here....

But this is an important point:

All races will be held in open lobbies.

I learned, that PD checks lobbies.
But only open ones.
We / I will encourage that.

I "suddenly" lost some of my fast opponents in the last few weeks.
Gone.
Now there is an explanation...
Or not.
Just trying my best to keep this clean.

my spa setup :

20 20 2.6 0.7
10 10 -0.40 0.40
10 10
7 7 lsd 5 5 20
brakes 5 5

also my little tip to be stronger on the brakes at stat is to put them at 6 6 , that's how i won and get a pole :)

Hi guys just posting to say that I've got friends coming round tonight so I wont be making it to this. Sorry.

Cas. How do you feel about having a race on one of the GT original tracks? How about letting us use mics in the practice lobby? It's good to talk to my fellow F1 drivers.

EDIT: Also im just wondering what everyone else thinks about moving the start time foward by one hour, so that we finish the session before Midnight GMT. What do the North American racers think to this?

Gazzi :D you probably haven`t got time to read all posts:
That was exactly my idea!

Shame that you cannot make it today.....:grumpy:

I´m in contact with Monspanur to get the racetracks,weather settings and regulations sorted. We will get going after tonights training race.

Seems that one or the other new guy will show up.

Since we're trading tunes I've always used this as a base tune on both 2007 and 2010. I use a different toe setting between the 10 and 07 but that's really it. I haven't found much difference in camber as long as you don't go over 4.

Springs 20, 20
Dampers front 9,8
Dampers rear 8,7
Roll 7,7

LSD 5,5,20

Toe (F2007) -.75, .50
Toe (F10): somewhere between -.45 and -.35, .50

Camber I usually leave at 2,1

I don't have a lot of time to drive but give that a shot and let me know how it compares to all your tunes. If your tunes are faster maybe it's time I change, please let me know what you find out if you test!

Am I reading it right that you guys use 10 all for dampers or 1 all for dampers? I don't get it, 1/1 or 10/10?! Don't those feel the opposite?

Edit: Practice race is in 7 minutes?! Who is hosting the room how do I find it?!

While I haven't officially signed up yet; still recovering from the original loss. I think moving it forward 1 hr is good for summer time (daylight savings) and still probably ok for winter too.

Cas, let's not try to re-invent the wheel here. While experimenting with some of your ideas is good; I think the formula in place was pretty good. If we're going to start instituting realistic rules, we'll limit practice; so old people with jobs and kids stand a chance.💡 No one ever signs on to that idea though. Also, the Thursday at race time practice never really worked for the +25yr US drivers, or at least me.

Dual compound is an awesome idea; just be prepared to have a system in place where people prove their tires. Not everyone's replay will show the same tire selection for every driver. So when there is a dispute, the stewards will all have to check their replays and confirm when the hards go on. Formation lap might be nice, but I'm not sure everyone will like it. Also, look how hard getting a restart in gear is. Imagine everyone actually having to put their car in the right box.

Hi!

Yes, I also have this feeling to have lost something.Or someone.:indiff:

@re-Inventing the wheel:
Don`t worry.I'm german, but no engineer.:D
But daddy is.....hmmmm... how much versions would you like?:D

@ 1hour earlier start:
cool fine with me.We`ll do that.

@family situation:
my wife is convinced, that I´m online dating.:p

@talking in practice lobby:
Was really nice to talk with GianDoe, MonSpaNur,AkaWhiterussian.
And even though RaJ and aug didn't use their mics It was better to get Info across.

@visitors:
Funny thing happened:
IMMORTALPILOCK turned up in the lobby!
After some hilarious comments from him( laughed so much I went off
track )IMMORTALPILOT tried to enter as well.Or did, and instantly left.Don't know.(happened several times)

We are wondering now :
Who is IMMORTALPILOCK? Gazzi? Art?

@Tyres:
We'll stick to :
Racing soft,Intermediate,Rain Tyres.
NO prime and option rule.

@Start:
I have been misunderstood:
I mean rolling start.The one where it is only allowed to pass after the start line. ( anti dive-bombing mode )

@testing:
Whatta arre you talkkink aboutt? You chavve no rrrezpeckkte?
This isse Ferrari!!!!! no testing!!!! Mamma mia!!!!My heart ...My heart!!!!!!:crazy:

@Sharing setups:
We will handle this also italian style:
"we will make you an offer you cannot refuse.....":cool:

Regulations are in the works.

Need some sleep now.Have to argue with the wife later.Need to be fit for that! :sly:

@testing: It's a real limitation to F1 teams; I don't actually mean it. In theory I could practice more, but it would mean not doing other things. And those videos you guys love are the obvious example, but there is so much to get done around here.

@Start: No rolling start plz. Standing starts are more authentic and fun.

@family situation: That's funny.

@visitors: So Pilock and Pilot were never in the same room at the same time for more than a few seconds? Hmmmm. Evil twin. IP asked about Pilock a while ago. Not sure what he found out.

Cool,You care.👍

It was just an idea with the different start.I'm not religious about it.

You don`t NEED to do the vid's. But....:rolleyes::p:D

The comments from PILOCK showed, that he was up to date.Kind of like an Insider.I personally think it was ART.That kind of humor is/was ....not german.(his nationality flag ) But I LIKE IT!!!!

Oh:
We should/will have only 12 people-rooms.
One lives and learns.

As before, im in when im at Dahlzi's place.
How will this be with the teams? same as before? or will there be new teams?

Hi Polarfox!

There are MULTI points of view for that.Up to 21 I believe.:sly:

If you all want to - there will be teams.

:D

Or brotherhood of speed: shoulndn't we just be one big team?Peace...

Google fascinates me.Results for"hippie quotes"(Hippyland):

"How does it feel to be on your own, with no direction home, like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone? "
Bob Dylan
"When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose. "
Bob Dylan
"If it feels good do it! "
Unknown

and, last but not least:

"All we are saying is - Give peace a chance!"
John Lennon & Yoko Ono

:D

Regulations and tracks and timetable are 99.9% set.

Will be announced on Sunday in a new tread.

So:

Is there interest for a testrace on sunday at either Nordschleife or Laguna Seca? I know it`s easter weekend.....

I think I will be able to drive at Sunday. We should not have to much pre-season racing. great If we could start next week maybe?

I wonder if we can use up-to-date teams. Like Ferrari, Sauber, Williams, Toro rosso, Mercedes...?

just a suggestion

@Aug:

The prime and option idea is canceled.But there are other new things....

@Dahlzi:

The realistic Teamnames are a good idea.

@Start:

I don't want to wait longer either.So the new tread for the championship will be open tomorrow.Want to start on April 7th.

Hey All

I decided not to join this f10 set up league anyway. This does not mean I dont like to race with you or I agree with IP and his opinions.
I think we all had some good times together, and I hope we can all race in league again together someday again :)
I wish you a great Season

Cbastjan

Today, I was out on my mountain bike riding some local downhill spots. I found the perfect replica of Eau Rouge but going downhill instead of uphill. It was so very fast to ride too. I must have pushed my bike back up the hill 20 times just to ride that section! Fantastic.

If there's a race tomorrow I might not be online to make it. But 100% I will be there for the start of the new season.

I think Cas you should not change the rules too much from IP's awesome series (he decided to let go), apart from start time and mics in practice. He had the perfect formula.

Raj that video is piss funny!

COOL.Don't worry gaz.

Changes are mostly the mic thing and weather.

EDIT: I´m struggling a bit with our daylight-savings-time-setting here.Seems to be ok now....

EDIT 2:

Test Race #2
Nürburgring Nordschleife
Details on OP

EDIT 3:

Will test the settings NOW.Feel free to join.

Edit 4:

Race Information:

Weather report for Race Day Ahrweiler/Eifel region:
Unstable weather.Even if sunny, Qualifying will VERY likely to start with wet track.
Track dries quicly.

Also our tyre supplier has some recommendations:
dry track : racing soft ( should last 2-3 laps)
0 > 40% wet track : racing soft
40 > 80% wet track: intermediates
80 > 100% wet track . rain tyres.

Test crew phoned in and had some setup tweaks done:
Dampers 1 all settings
Remove the rollbars (1 front and rear)
camber: 0.5 front 1.0 rear

Also the testdriver, that ALWAYS used bumper view before HIGHLY recommends T cam view!

All we can say now, is not to overdo it on the Autobahn on you way here.Sadly there are more and more speed limits around.

So hope to see some teams for the testrace tomorrow.

I wanted to propose we all use driver view for all league functions. I know this isn't popular and may lead to accidents at first, but it is the only way to drive. It's much more authentic, and wheel to wheel more dramatic. Get your 🤬 in the seat.

Am I interpreting the above comments to mean we are racing in weather this season? Sweet, maybe I'll figure it out.

Every motorbike racer learns early in is career, that should never, never, never, look back during a race.

At GT5, the only view with a useful mirror is the front bumper, so...

... and that view is the more realistic, because when you are driving in the real life and in terms of what you really see, the road is your foreground and the car the background.

At the GT5`s view from inside the car, the car is the foreground and the road the background, so that view do not mimic what happens in the real life.

Driving with the T view, or with the outside rear view, at best seems absurdly unrealistic for me, frankly.

I'm interested. Is changing suspension/trans./etc allowed? didn't find it in the description.
