I got this idea while watching Speed Channel broadcast the highlights of the V8 Supercar Bathurst 1000 today. Ive always loved the Mount Panorama circuit and the Bathurst 1000 (The Great Race) is one of the best races in the world. So, I thought we might be able to replicate it somewhat in GT4 fashion.

So, heres my idea for a GT4 Bathurst 1000:
Car Selection
* Everyone uses the Ford Falcon V8 Supercar (unfortunately, no Holden available)
* In their entry, drivers can choose their car number, car type (Holden or Ford), car sponsor, etc. or they can choose to replicate one of the current V8 Supercars. Check out the teams list at the bottom of the Wikipedia link.
The Great Race
* In Arcade mode, we go to Trial Mountain (normal), the GT4 circuit that most closely replicates Mount Panorama
* The race is 161 laps (actually, we would have to run three 50 lap races, plus an 11-lap sprint to the finish) - one of the 50 lap races could be done in B-spec mode, to replicate handing the car over to a teammate and saving us time by only having to run 111 laps.
* Qualifying could take place in Gran Turismo mode, by practicing at Trial Mountain, so people can put their car setup skills to the test 1 lap only
* As far as the Arcade mode settings, Id like to see Mild Tire Wear, the 10-second penalty for hitting anything and the AI cars set on Hard Tires and at least 3 to 5 on the Difficulty setting. Plus, Id like to see everyone race without ASM or TCS (real drivers don't need them).
I havent been posted here in a while, but I have hosted several endurance races, such as a JGTC Grand Valley 300 a couple of years ago that basically served as the inspiration for the current, very popular Super GT series, as well as a couple of Le Mans Prototype 1000 kilometer races. So, heres hoping theres a few more endurance racing nuts out there who want to join.
So, if anyone has any comments, questions, suggestions, etc., Id love to hear them.
