so how long do you figure a gran turismo game with infinite races will last?
weekly rotation of 5 races in Seasonal + online = more racing than you can shake a stick at.

How long? 2 years tops.

These are not "inifinite races" - they are just a stream of the same rehashes over and over and over again.

Believe it or not, not everyone wants/likes/needs online racing.

I am an informal gamer - the last thing I want or need is a rigid regime of "league races" dictating when I shouldvlog on to race and compete. I relax with my sim driving, not work. Hell the 1st and 2nd series of online races are already closed - so I cant even race them if I wanted to. I guess it was my fault for not being glued to GT5 online everyday since Dec.

And there are many thousands like myself, who bought GT5 on the promise it was going to be a HD GT4 - this turned out to not be true.

You think I bought this T500RS for racing others? Fat chance, I bought to up MY enjoyment of the game - if I wanted to compete I would use something cheaper and less realistic, afterall being competitive online does nto require realism, but only mastering the "game".

PD and Sony know that GT5 has an extremely limited life... they proved this the moment their was a hint of a GT6.

Why work on GT6 if GT5 has inifinite replayability? ;)

why work on GT6 if you can play GT5 forever?
easy. to make money, which they're in the business of doing.

just because you don't like racing online doesn't mean it doesn't offer uncountable racing opportunities. you're basicly limiting yourself. (i'm not talking about the seasonal race rotation either, though that adds 5 new races every week, plus a drift trial and a time trial that i routinely ignore.)
i haven't once raced in a league race. i race online with people on my friends list exclusively, and the rules are set race by race. one may be 5 laps around Fuji in SuperGT cars, another may be 10 laps in corvettes around the High Speed Ring. just a couple days ago, we took karts around the Nurburgring.

the way Gran Turismo 5 in constructed, you get out of it what you put into it.
if you want it to be quick and easy, it will be. if you want it to last and have an unlimited amount of races, it will. it's entirely up to you.

Point <-----------------------------------------------------> You

Hundreds of thousands of people dont care about online racing.

Clear enough?

that's the hundreds of thousands of people's problem (which i'm guessing is a severely gross exaggeration).

the fact of the matter is Gran Turismo has built into it a component to keep the game going for as long as the player wants to keep it going.

Nice Day,
Their's no way GT5 could overhaul GT3, with all due repsect from poly ponies. 1000 Cars vs 100 Cars. Well atleast if GT3 Was converted to PS3 With modern Physics with just a little tweak, it might be the best selling PS3 Forever and ever... Amen!

So GT4 had 0 races then?

yes I always thought that was a problem in GT4. I thought the power point system in GT5P was a major improvement

Can you give me an example of a real world racing series with no restrictions?

Exaggerated?

Of the 500,000 copies of GT5 sold in Dec, how many have been playing online all the time? How many have barely dabbled in the online seasonal and how many have just played offline?

See how even if 300,000 people are regularly online, that still leaves hundreds of thousands who are not interested in online 200,000 to be precise.

Online is an option that not everyone wants or needs. The offline game is lacking. The game is far too shallow this time around. The only thing keeping me playing now is the T500RS and the Nordschleife.

Gt5 needs more a spec events without question. Seasonal events are really nothing more than credit and xp generators. They are not races they are overtaking clinics. Online is hit or miss at best. I have yet to run across a decent room with actual mature people in it. I'm sure they exist but the overwhelming majority is not worth my time. A spec events are more useful than online or seasonal because they do not rely on an Internet connection, so if my internet isn't acting right, which happens from time to time, I have a much broader selection at my disposal.

This ^. Every sentence is dead on. 👍

The point that keeps eluding you, time and time again, is that you're basing your opinion on 50% of the game.

Yes, I will concede to you that there are less A Spec events in GT5 then in GT3. Now....so what?

There is still way more content in GT5 than there is an GT3.
