iPad won't charge

Brand new @ 70% battery tried both plugged into computer and wall, I can't figure it out, when plugged into computer it says 'not charging' I believe apple support said computers are too low of power to charge iPads while running

This happened to me once. I let mine get to 0% then tried a wall charger and it worked.
Mine is an iPad 2 if it means anything.

No USB port can charge tablets of any kind since usb is limited to 500mA.

Not true, depends on the port. See this support page from Apple. E.g. iPad/iPad2 will charge just fine on a MacBook Pro or any other laptop/computer with high-power USB 2.0 ports.

BTW, my iPad (1) charges just fine on a 500mAH port. Just make sure it's the only device connected because usually power is shared per two USB ports.

Problem fixed some how, turned it off over night and plugged it back in this morning and charged up fine

hmm i work with mobiles, and get a problem like that alot...its normaly eather a bad USB or a software prob...seams a few people get it..and it works sometimes...sounds like a software problem maybe?...
