Ipod touch crashes

Whenever I open up a story in the news it freezes my iPod and crashes out of the app...

Hmm, I'm not able to replicate that on my iPhone. Are you using the latest version of the app (1.4.5)?

Ya, whenever there is an update to any of my apps I do it the day it comes out. Could it be that I haven't updated my software for the iPod?

It could be, but I'm really not sure as I can't seem to replicate the problem. Having the latest version of iOS on your iPod couldn't hurt, though.

I am updated on both the app and iPod version and this also happens to me...

This occurs for you on every single news post you try to load, or are you referring specifically to my post about the Shift 2 event? I can replicate a crash there, presumably because of the number of comments.

For me it's not every single thread I try to view.
I think it might have something to do with content on the page as it happens most often when I try to view threads with lots of photos on them, and when I try to hit links to go to external sites.

Every now and then it'll crash when trying to view threads with no photos, or links, etc. But not as often.

I tried rebooting my iPod and it happened less often, but soon it started back up again.

There are some threads that I can't even view because it crashes every time I try to load it.

I'm curious, how old is your iPod? Do you know what specific model of iPod Touch it is?

Relatively old, I'll check it now...
It doesn't have the camera.

EDIT: 2nd Generation 8 GB of memory even though I've only used half of that.

Ah, I see. Yeah, that only has 128MB of RAM and is unsupported by Apple beyond the 4.2.1 firmware so there's definitely some memory issues going on somewhere. The best advice I can offer you now is to always open the blog in Safari using the menu button near the bottom right of the page to keep memory usage to a minimum.
