Mixed class racing with hpd, vette's and ford gt's kinda does need to be fixed.

Even though I never competed in the series, I heard very little people use the ford gt since it's the slowest and there are always hpd's trying to pass who end up crashing into the ford gt.

True, all the 2-3 wrecks I've had with a GT was the Ford GTs. Its almost as if they have magnets on their rear that attracts HPDs to them :scared:

The last accident was at mid ohio. Was competiting for 4th place or something from I recall. This ford gt that was in dead last place and far behind his class members refused to share the corner.

The old HPD could pass them on straights but now its a little tougher

Met a personal goal last night in iRacing. I've been trying to get my iRating above 3000 for the past few weeks to get my driver rating in the triple digits. Last night I had two wins at Summit Point in decent splits and it pushed me into my goal. I'm not jumping on here and bragging, just proud to finally get what I've been working towards. :)

The Mustang series has been huge fun and it's taught me a lot in iRacing. It's been fun getting to know the guys I race with. The only issue is I've gotten so used to the Stang that everything else is very twitchy and hard to drive. I'll have to re-acclimate back to the other cars.

I'm still a bit buzzed from the great racing last night. :)

Cheers!

Congrats! I want to try to get my Oval/Road iRating to soar like that one of these days!

Hey Swifty!! How do you compare your times to the World Record? I just got my Star Mazda time down to the 1.22s and my optimal is lower. Just need to keep working on this. Should be mid pack worthy at least but this week I would like to Qualify and push towards the front. I've seen some talk of people hitting 1.17s though. Grrrrrrrrr!!! Good news I'm pretty sure thats just the Qualifying times with low fuel btw

Thanks Sandbox! I've been doing more Practice sessions than racing, but it's been a lot of fun honing my skills in the Stang.

As far as world records go, I think there is a drop down for stats (just right to the My Racing link) and world records are the bottom link. Just make sure to compare your times to the current season as tires and physics change.

Cheers!

Maybe it's GlovePie (what Patrocles said) that has the script for cockpit height adjustment and not Motion Cockpit View, I don't use either, so I might have mixed them up. Sorry.

Woo! Got my first win in the Star Mazda last night at Road Atlanta. Man, I swear that track is cursed and the demons of RA are out to get me. Funny how sometimes I still manage to squeeze a decent race from there.

Sorry Sandbox but I think the real good guys could run 1'17's as race pace, I was getting mid-low 1'18's with race fuel in my practice last night. Road Atlanta is a very cool track :)

And Congrats on your Star Mazda win isamu 👍

Just finished my first Prototype and GT race at Silverstone. 70 minutes of racing, very difficult after being used to sprint races in the MX5's. Finished 3rd in the HPD though so I am happy and it was great fun.

Had another day of iRacing, the number of incidents is irritating me, kind of reminded me that i should qualify so as to avoid people at the back end of the field... Also these incidents makes me wish that there is a fault system in iRacing, or at least an easier protest method...

Oh yeah, I think it is called sumfink like Glove Pie? Supposedly, it always cockpit adjustment in the iracing 3D environment and not just the POV from the iracing shift+[] control?

Yes I have heard something like this

Good stuff! Not easy getting up to 3rd place in this series!

So the speculations quickly come to an end:

http://www.iracing.com/inracingnews/iracing-news/iracing-to-build-virtual-ruf-rt12r

We will in Fact get the RT-12-R road car and not a Track version of the car. Kind of dissapointed to be honest...

Oh well! At least we will be able to do custom liveries and use racing numbers on it.

The RT12S is the "Street" version of the car, which is what the "S" stands for.

The RT12R is the "Race" version of the car, which is what the "R" stands for.

Read the spec sheet, this is a high powered race car that just so happens to still be street legal.

Once you do a protest or two, it's easy. Just save the replay, attach it, explain the incident in the correct format and you're done. But remember, you won't find out the final punishment (if any) for your protest and you won't get any SR or potential iR lost back.

The SR system of course isn't perfect, but once you get used to it, it's not a terrible system.

I do wish sometimes that they didn't have this 0x->4x feature though. Yesterday I was in a race where a narrowly avoided a spun car, but I was close enough to get a 0x contact, a full second or so later, a car behind me hit that spun car, and my 0x got upgraded to a 4x. That had me shaking my head, but I've learned not to get upset with the SR system, and just to move on.

Awesome! 👍 Yeah what a crazy track!

Bah maybe I should just stick to Ovals then. Yall got rockets in the back of yall Mazdas lol

........

WTF?! Site is down!!! This is pretty pathetic I finally got home early and was planning to practice some more but they are too incompetent to keep these web servers up so we can play

Don't worry about your personal race pace, you'll find someone to compete with in your split. I normally don't concern myself with the "fast" guys, I just find a pace that I can be consistent with without taking too many risks and run that, I might not be racing for the lead very often, but there are some great races for 5th out there! I try to improve, but I know I don't have the skill or the time to practice that the fast guys have, so I just do the best I can with my situation.

True story. I just drive as fast as I can. If you extract all of your capabilities without worrying about the "aliens" the racing becomes a lot more fun, I think.

Just rage quit on the last lap of a Skippy race. I think I need caffeine before getting in that at night.

Eric.

Doesn't rage quitting really hurt you? I forgot what it actually does

Grr, I was holding down 8th place very easily lapping dudes, etc. Then lost focus and wrecked

Very frustrating!

Road Atlanta sucks.....

edit- hm, gain iR somehow inspite of my epic fail. Need to go Q. Need to fovus and keep my mind on the race lol. The mind wanders too much...

What's it do? I don't remember where I saw it

Basically if the car is repairable and you can physically complete the race you should. Because the more laps you do the less effect whatever incident happened will effect your SR. Also there is a decent chance that someone else will crash out somewhere along the way and you might be able to make up a position or two so it doesn't hurt your iRating as much.

Yeah this Star mazda is built to last! I pushed beyond my PB and eventually kissed the wall but she tanked it well. So much better than the Hpd in that regard!

Always stay in the race if possible!

edit - Nooooooo! site is down again!!! so lame.... was going to go Qualify....

Yeah, Thurs is the SOF race for the Vettes and I really really need good points to get back in the hunt after my 2 weeks down...

Quitting early freezes your number of laps completed. If you completed more laps than whoever does finish behind you, then you place ahead of them still. I probably didn't lose anything since it was the last lap and at the moment I was in last. Might have made up one position if I didn't spin anymore. Rear tires had just been cooked though and the car was getting annoying.

Okay coo did much better that time and finished 4th. Lost like -.19 SR from trying to qualify on this demon track tho. Made it all back. Just shocked I lost so much Sr during a Qualifying session

Would like to see how well I do when it splits this weekend

SR is calculated at 0.5x during qualifying sessions, so to lose that much you really must have had a lot more incidents than you normally do.

It really depends how high your SR is at the moment, the higher you are the more costly the incidents are(or steeper calculation).
