Got my first win in the Caddy at Mosport tonight, pretty happy :p

Sweet, what split did you run in? I havent won a race in over 2 weeks, i barely get top 5's now that i keep getting put in the top splits.

Jav
No, Leagues is just a refined version of the Hosted sessions with very nice features!

Is there much difference between hosting a tournament and leagues other than being easier to publicize one's club/ organization?

Not sure, I keep forgetting to qualify..

I wouldn't want to be anywhere else on a Caddy race!

I haven't really done much with the Tournaments feature because frankly it can get a bit complicated and frustrating... The League feature let's you create however many seasons and simultaneous championships as you want with the points system wich really takes a huge part of the workload off of the organizers, it still needs a few tweaks like the ability to add more cars to a particular class and use the same vehicle with different specs on separate classes bt iRacing is aware of this and I'm sure they're working on it!

I'm starting to like the oval side of Iracing, Street Stocks are fun!

What is a split exactly? I assume 1 is the highest and 11 is the lowest?

Shinya what happened in that last GT-Challenge race? Saw you in the race but then looked at the stats after it was over and saw you 24 laps down. Did you get caught up in that first crash? Or something else?

Oh and with a name like "Shinya Michimi" I was fully expecting a thick Japanese accent coming from you, but then you spoke on the mic and you sound whiter than me! LOL!

 I made a really stupid mistake on the second lap trying to let a HPD by me that started from the pits. That pretty much ruined my race as I got a lot of damage from the wall. Luckily the first race that I ran got me 97 points so, not that big of a deal :D

As for my voice. My first 18 years of my life were in America. So, I have a perfect Midwestern American accent :D You should see what Japanese people say about my Japanese accent. 超変!

Where are you based on Japan? I gotta come by and say hi sometime.

I already got tired of this game. Yet again i drive a clean race 2nd/3th place. Only got 1 off track and still i have 9 INC.
Some dude wants to overtake me on the straight he just drive into me instead use all the tarmac he has available. then you pass a backmarker who just happens to lose control when you drive by leaving you whit damage.

I already lose 7 places at the 2 first laps to give everyone room and to make sure there is no contact. what do i need to do more? why do i have to pay the price for someone elses mistakes? Ok mistakes happen, but ik happens like every race. My last 10 races i easly could have 0 INC maybe 1 for going off track. Instead i have like 37Inc.

I was planning to spent money on this game but now i am in doubt.

Get out of rookie before you make any rash judgements.

Try race something the rookies can't race Maxitsu.. I started to have fun when I got to C-Licence and drove in the Grand Am series, people are really respectful there. I'm still driving there and have fun every time.

Maxitsu
i am out of rookie

Whoops my bad, thought you weren't cause you said your bored of it already (Made me think you were new and a rookie)

Yea maybe, But i have to buy content for that, i be able to do that next week if i am lucky.

Agreed it can be frustrating taken out of a race because
of someones elses mistake.
But it is trying to be a simulation, what happens in real life ?

the key to this is keep racing and be up front. you want to be in higher splits at all times. and you need to qualify period.

I'll say this from the other perspective....as I stay at a fairly low iRating (normally under 1400) and rarely qualify if I don't have a good shot at qualifying at least 3rd.

You have to change your driving style, it's as simple as that. It's a fine balance between giving people room as you said and getting good position. Some people never find this balance and they quit out of frustration, others find it and realize that you can indeed have great racing mid-pack (and occasionally up front) without having a 2000+ iRating and always being in the top splits. I can't tell you how to find the balance, you just have to give it time and experiment. It normally comes down to one thing though for me, relaxing. If I am too aggressive I end up in accidents.

Your other option is to run in leagues, that will get you the cleanest and most fun racing out there.

There is nothing wrong whit my driving style, i already did change that ALOT. If some guys can't control a car. i even don't fight people for position! if they are faster. If those guys can't wait for the next corner or can't pass you on a straight. then there is nothing wrong whit my driving!

You aren't in the GTP iRacing users directory so I can't look up your stats, but if you are averaging 9 incidents per race on these short sprint races, you are doing something wrong. It's as simple as that, it's not an insult towards you, please don't take it that way. A few incidents and occasional contact is expected, but not in every race. When I was going through rookie and D-class I was averaging less than 3 incidents per race for both road and oval. I didn't get many wins, but I almost always finished on the lead lap at least because I was rarely involved in accidents.

Just a couple suggestions here (you may already be doing these):

1) Look further ahead
2) Watch for driving patterns in the way the drivers both in front of and behind you.
3) Drive more defensively
4) If you see someone starting to spin or wrecking ahead of you, let off the gas immediately, move to one side of the track, cover your brake, and be prepared to change direction or go off track to avoid the accident.

When are most of your incidents occurring? Are they lap 1 or 2 crashes? Or later in the race? How are most of your incidents occurring? Rear ended? Sideswiped? Getting into cars that spin in front of you?

I really would like to help you, so like I said, don't take this as an insult to your driving skills, I'm trying to get you to continue iRacing because the more people we have who stick around the more official races we have and the larger fields we get to race with = more fun. :)

Shinya are you going to Suzuka for the F1 race this year? Wife and I just bought our tickets, we'll be sitting in the "C" grandstand right after T1.

Bought the skippy today and I’m loving it. Defiantly running it this season. But does anyone know where I can find some setups for it?

I use MCV, but only for the seat adjustments. I zero out all the motion stuff, but the seat adjustments allow me to not have to rely on the virtual mirror and be able to see my gauges in all of the cars.

There is a long thread about MCV in the iRacing forums, on one of the later pages the settings for disabling the motion portion was listed. But yeah, I think it's basically zeroing out things. I can't remember for sure, I just copy/pasted.
