Looks like they did what they should have done a long time ago.

Proto/GT HPD, C6R, FGT open setups 65 minute races (every 4 hours)
Proto/GT HPD, C6R, FGT fixed setup 25 minute races (every 2 hours)

However, I don't know if the Ford GT with it's ridiculously low participation can handle being in 3 series. Because we still have the problem that spurred the creation of the GT Challenge series (unskilled HPD's divebombing the GT cars) so I'm not sure how many will race in Proto/GT.

I can go faster in the Mustang, i just wanted to get a pace i'm comfortable with.. 5 cars in week 13? Not sure if that'll be scary or really fun..

I'd join you guys tonight, but I don't have any of the content required! Have fun and I'll hopefully join you all for some GTP races soon :)

Im off work tonight so count me in!
You might want to get a quali lap today Kevin, Tomorrow it's gonna be crazy and pretty hard to get a clean lap in, on the other hand it might be easier to get a good tow down the straight...

I'm really hoping the Ford gets a good update with the revised tire and steering model. Hopefully that will make it enjoyable...

Oh you'll do just fine!!
Thank God the W13 5 car thing doesn't involve SR or iR!

When is the ROAR race anyway? Ive been able to work down to a 205.5, but not consistently. Turn 1 always seems to set the tone for the whole lap and its a bit tricky sometimes for me.

Kevin, it's tomorrow night at 9:00. I'd hit qualifying after the practice race tonight, that's my plan anyhow.

I always seem to put together my best qualifying runs after a long run when the car feels worn out; because then you hit the qualifying session with light fuel and new tires and kill it!

I may hit the 7:30 session too; just for the hell of it. :)

Come join us Welsh! You'll most likely get the content one day so why not tonight? :)

You know the track from GT5, so you'll just need to learn the Stang which is a fairly easy car to drive.

Not sure what your budget is, but if you can swing it come on out! :)

Oh That sucks Kevin! But good news for you is that the long racing is back, Proto/GT is getting 65 minute racing!

I'm happy to have it back, as I'll be in the HPD anyways, but I'm concerned that this is just going to end up like S2 2012 again where it ends up with virtually zero splits all season long and only one race a week (the organized SOF race) with any more than 2 or 3 GT cars in each class.

Thoughts on this? It's not mine

Well that was entertaining, not sure what you're looking for here Mac... The racing was good, him as a comentator I can see it working well, his got a "different" style compared to the ussual dead serious technical guys out there. So after some work on his commentating I'd definitely go to him for broadcasting!

I don't see it being any different, but at least we have some realistic racing lenghts to do on Sundays! If you want it to take over the fixed series it won't happen unless you kill the fixed! Wich I'm ok with if it hapens!

OK, arm suitably twisted and content purchased! :D

Never joined a hosted session before, but I'm sure I'll find you guys. 👍

Awesome!

Just go to the Hosted drop down and click join race. It says its waiting to launch right now, so it should be up in a few minutes.

No way is Tony or Steve going to kill such a popular series like Proto/GT fixed. They likely aren't going to kill the GT Challenge either. I say swap the McLaren and the Ford. Put the McLaren in the Proto/GT Open series, and leave the GT Challenge to be the Ford GT and Corvette. That way we get one series to concentrate the Ford GT participation in, and the McLaren's popularity will make more realistic fields in the Proto/GT series.

I just wanted your opinions, he used to do a lot of GT5 videos too and looks like he made the jump to iRacing.

For anyone who is interested in the Hosted Roar Practice race tonight:

I'm dumping the Jetta for tonight's race to try and get more participation, so all the content you'll need is the Mustang and Daytona. :dopey:

Come join the fun, practice starts at 8:00, qualifying at 8:40, and the race starts at 9:00.

The password is clean-racing-only

Hope to see some of you out there!

I got off work early tonight, so I'm in! I'll buy daytona and see you guys in a few minutes

No, Australia and Japan time literally always gets screwed over.

Fair enough. All the races are at terrible times for you guys.

Because of my work schedule i end up racing with the Aussies most of the time anyways, I rarely race with North Americans. Hardly anyone else is on when I'm able to race, its too early for the Aussies and too late for the North Americans.

They changed the 2013 Season 1 Schedule a bit, seems a few of you noticed already. Glad they made Grand Touring Cup races longer, but they threw in a few new tracks like Zolder and Phillip Island instead of Okayama Long, etc.

New Zealand too. I've accepted the fact I'll probably won't get a chance to run the special events.
But happy iRacing lets me take part in official championships which was a struggle with GT5.

Well it was pretty good! I liked it, maybe we could get him to do some broadcasting for us!

Thanks for hosting the Roar before the Roar session tonight John. Might have been a better showing if I'd filled my car back up with Gas, lol, but just as I'd got back to the battle for 2nd, I had to pit. oops!!

Anyway, since I'd got a nice new car and track to play with, I figured I'd stick around and run some laps with the Delta splits to see where I could pick up some time and eventually got down to running fairly consistent 2'05's with a PB of 2'05.3 and splits for an optimal lap of 2'04.7!! Based on this, if I get a chance to run the Roar event, I might just do that :)

Thanks again and thanks to everyone else for showing up too. Good fun with good racers!!
