In iRacing the blue flag is an ADVISORY tool. So don't expect every lap car or slower class car to just slow down and move over. It's the passing car's responsibility to make the pass safely. Don't just try to barrel through and expect the lap car to yield.
Obviously but the overtaking was done in my case.

If he still managed to hit you, the overtake wasn't complete. Unless he divebombed you after you passed him, but that's a whole different argument.

I think the gentle is if a wrecked car let the race leaders go when they fight for positions and he is far behind on the last place. Maybe I want too much. lol

holy 🤬 I just deleted 26.1 GB worth of paints and my whole iRacing file was only 30.5 GB WITH all those paints, I'm definitely using my "defraggler" now! *whistles in amazement*

Just got done with 2 races this morning. Finished 4th in the DP, I am not that slow but, the leader was running 37.8's! And I also did a fixed Proto&GT and got 2nd after starting 8th. Now to do some practice in the McLaren at Spa. Anybody got any setup pointers?

A night or a daytime setup? Hopefully night, I don't really have a good daytime Daytona set lol

Night time is working great for me, maybe you'll want to use a bit more aggressive pad compound, but that's it!
One thing I must say is that I haven't tried anything else, it may very well be that there are better sets out there...

Looking at all the tracks i'll need to buy if I want to race in a new series next season makes me cringe.
Ya, it's the initial shock and awe, but once you go through that initial stage and buy $150 or what ever worth of tracks it begins to be easier once you start joining other series that may use one or two different tracks, I think it was said that all content was somewhere between $550 and $750 depending on the 25%, 20%, and 10% discounts however there is no need for all that, honestly I feel that I actually have too many cars because I can't focus on one car and run a whole series, I'm often too distracted by all the cars I have and end up running practice sessions in multiple cars all week. so pick a series and run it for a season and if you want to change, do so on the next W13 and buy your cars then, unless there's a really good deal going on which happens from time to time... Just my opinion, good luck:tup:

TP actually works! It's great!:D I saw a guy who had a mclaren painted with the Gulf livery but with a deep blue that had correct shadows and stuff to make it look like a deep pearl blue with that orange striping from that Gulf livery it looked amazing!

Haha, I'll see what kind of times I can put around with the night setup then. If I can break into the top 7 in a European lobby, then I know I'll be top 3 during the US time when I normally race lol.

Just got Interlagos though. Will definitely be playing with that for a little bit.

I raced Spa with the high downforce setup, qualy time was 2:20 low with no draft. It's an ok setup to race but it's easy to be overtaken at the straight after Eau Rouge. Lowest qualy time I've seen was 2:18 but I guess some drivers can manage 2:17.

Also, I've used 109.3L of gas for the race, at the end there was fuel for one or two more laps.

Do you remember what sort of lap times you were running during the race? I just got done practicing for about 1 hour. Got down to a 2:21.6 with 60L of fuel left. With this car and track combo, I feel the same as Silverstone. I feel fast but, I am actually way far off the pace. Really got to buckle down and see if it is my driving or setup.

Buy them one at a time, or two at a time, that's how I did it.

Also pick a series that runs a few of the same or similar tracks if it's a struggle.

Here are the results:

My average time was 22.5, fastest lap was 21.5. Bear in mind that during half the race I used draft from the driver in front. I've lead the race only from lap 12 onward if I'm not mistaken.

Well, if you're buying two items you might as well buy three and get a discount.

But I agree on looking for series that share tracks, that helped me a lot when I didn't have much road content, and I'm starting to do the same now with oval.

Anyone familiar with this problem? Its been fine all through week 13 with the same cars.

In case anyone is interested, I'm hosting a 2 hour practice session at Sebring in the Skippy. Summint Point Jefferson is making me nuts, so I want to try the car at a real track.

Starting now! :)

I've rebooted and raced twice since with no issue, and DxDiag didn't have any errors on the sound tabs. I'll call it a fluke for now.

Thoughts on this guys? It's Mazda cup, but the SOF was over 2000 so I didn't expect anything like this.. the first one I could see was a bit of both our faults, I could have gave him more room and he was a little closer than we both thought he was.. the 2nd time I'm not sure what he was doing.. he quit right after. I'm in the red car.

Well Mac, after seeing the second one and how he reacted I'd say he's just an idiot that can't take loosing. First one you did nothing wrong, you got by before the braking zone took and protected your line. Judging by what he did on the second I'd say go back to the first tap and he was trying to spin you arround as soon as you got by, he tries again and backfires on him, one car gets by and he rage quits!
He's a moron, nothing else to look for or blame. Plain and simple he is wreckless and a hazard out there, so please do us all a favor and report him! Maybe he'll get away with it, but maybe he already has a history on the system and will at least get reprimended.

Like Jav, I agree he's deserving of reporting Mac.
As you said the first tap could have been a genuine accident and I'm sure iRacing would rule that way. The second one however is purely intentional and reckless - taking out another car as well. Was he thinking you brake checked him and then dive bombed him into the next corner as well? Regardless, he would be wrong on both calls. He was a jerk plain and simple 👎

Is anyone doing the Open Proto/GT series? I kind of wonder if anybody is at all. The practice rooms are always empty, only one race went official today and there was only one Ford GT in that.

I am! Was planning on doing today's "hot split" on the Ford, even went and did quali but apparently that hot split isn't working... I'll definitely be doing some racing there on the weekeng with the Ford but Sunday's hot split is resserved for the Vette on that series!

I'm running the fixed in the Corvette. Today was my first time racing the Glen, though, so I'm still really slow.
