Nice! Were you faster than him? I was in a Grand Am session with Nick Percat (2011 Bathurst 1000 winner the other day), but he was .5 quicker than me. It's always cool to race against a real driver.

Of course I was! I was in a DP . Yes he raced for Hexis last year, joining Sebastian Loeb's new team this year. I didn't talk to him, he was pretty quiet and probably doesn't speak to much English. Still really cool though.

I see 3 different Impalas available to purchase, but the "Chevrolet Impala" listed here isn't used in any series. Would iRacing really make us purchase this car just for World Tour Events?

I'm pretty sure the new G6 cup car comes out before the 500 and will use that instead of the old cup car we have now. Your going to need to buy one of the new cars like the new chevy or ford. They are going to have a 8 week series when it comes out to finish the season off.

Edit: Just looked around a little on the iracing forums and the 500 could still use the current cup car. It's not to clear from what I've seen but i might have missed something. The reason you dont see a series for the current cup car is that they aren't doing a official series with the current car they are waiting to do a 8 weeks series with the new G6 cars.

I believe the old Cup car is being used for the World Tour event and the new G6 cars will be used for the shortened season 1 and beyond.

Yeah was just editing my post. If you don't have the current cup car and you buy it you will get a refund on it now I believe since it's so close to the new one coming out and people like me that already have it will get a $6.95 credit when the G6 car comes out.

Hello, it has been a month since i played iracing(it feels alot more), i ran all the new updates, and i take my mx5 to setup my wheel and get some in-laps to find the feel back. I bumped into a small issue when i brake i hear some sort of high pitched scratching sound when braking..is this normal?

I believe they added 'cold' brake noise to the sim.
Same thing in the McLaren, but it goes away after a few laps.

Yeah it's normal. Like Hydro said they added brake squeal for when the brakes are cold on the cars that have metal discs. Cars with carbon disc don't make any noise like in real life.

I love the fact you can race every houre now. You can race whenever you want. I hope it doesn't hurt the participation level to much.

Nice, during practice for the 2.4 earlier this year I ran a few laps in the McLaren with Joey Logano (Nascar Sprint Cup Driver) He was only Rookie License but we had a few good battles.

Also earlier in the year I ran a practice session with Shane Van Gisbergen, he is pretty darn quick considering the car we were using wasn't exactly as unstable as the V8 Supercar.

Well hells bells, I just bought Darlington and for some reason it won't download at all. It gets all the way to where it normally will download (last screen) and just never completes it.

My computer can't even run iRacing so I'm going to have to upgrade fast. I need a gpu, power supply, and a case (I found a Motherboard I want to use). I'm trying to get this as soon as possible but I don't if I have enough money to get it all.

Yup, hopefully the RUF will be a mid-season S2 or start of S3 release. It's really the only car left that I'm waiting for. Now just need some more tracks.

Also, Steve confirmed in a Tweet that iRacing has purchased two of the Oculus Rift developer kits. So we've got support for that coming in the near future too!

Thanks Jav. I tried one from the iRacing forum last night and it was decent, it's just a bit unstable under braking so I moved the brake bias forward by 2% which helped. I will be sure to compare both setups.

Edit: it didn't let me download the file. Said I didn't have permission and got a 404 error.

Yeah Falcon is having some issues at the moment. Go to last page of the thread and someone posted a .sto file of the set for Suzuka. Good luck.

Go to the Falcon thread in the iRacing forum. Them go to the last page. Someone provided a .sto file for the C6R at Suzuka.

Edit: Tried it out. The falcon tune is more refined and and way more stable, but it doesn't seem to be as fast. The only place I saw an obvious gain was the entry to Spoon and perhaps in a few braking zones. How wild does the Corvette get during a race on used tyres? It may prove to be a better race setup.
