CMS GT-3 Sprint Series will go live in about 35 minutes, join us to race or tune in to watch the race here:

2 GTP'ers racing tonight, Kevin Hennings and Javier Torres, hopefully more will join us!

what's this deal with the Z4 GT3 getting replaced by the M6 gt3 according to road and track. so we already have an outdated car?

I didn't read it was due next year, just that the Z4 was being retired eventually, this was just an announcement. The article was on road and track. It popped up on facebook.

Gotcha! For some reason I assumed it was gonna be pushed out next year... That's good, we still have a full year of competition with the Z4 and iRacing can start working on licensing for the M6 if they are smart...

Wow, these cars are outdated too fast.

Honestly, I think that GT3 is well covered and I'd like to see some cars from other series start cropping up. Can-Am, Formula 3, LMP, and maybe a 1960's era GT or stockcar would make great a sim car. Caterham does the Caterham academy, that would be a cool series to partner with too.

Completely agreed, I really want to see more Grass Roots cars in the service, the Continental Tire series would be a great compromise between top level and grass roots racing.
Best racing in the world :)

definitely agree, I like the historic and low to mid level racing the best. Speaking of grass roots, I know this is a little far fetched but.... hosted session, custom autox courses on a scanned parking lot designed by the session creator would be kind of a new level for sim racing and would definitely be interesting.

With the centripetal circuit, there could easily be a way to randomize a cone setup there with the cars on the game for an Autocross event!...Or you could just drive off at Sebring :dopey:

The only thing about centripetal circuit is the fact that it's so round that it would get a little disorienting, especially crossing all those lines that go around it.

I don't know so much as the best, but the racing when properly balanced and officiated is great, diversity is awesome and for sure the most relevant type of racing there is!

Here's hoping for Rift DK2 support in the next build. With more and more games supporting it now, iRacing needs to keep up. I miss racing. :(

Hi guys got bit of a problem. I have had triple monitor setup for about 2 years now but now the middle screen losses signal when I go to join a session. So basically everything is working fine until I join a session and when the sim refreshes the screens it losses signal. This monitor is using the mini display port to dvi connection. Any help much appreciated!

I don't know a whole lot about that kind of stuff but I'm assuming your using an active adapter to go from the mini display to dvi? I have seen people say that the active adapters can go bad. Do you have access to another one?

After watching the 1000 i want to race that Holden sooo bad. Shame SVG had starter issues at the very end, he was one of if not the fastest guy on track and i was pulling for him.

I wish they still used the old wing, I hate the one they have now and that Ford uses, it looks bland and boring.

I ran the Northwest Bathurst 100. I went from 6th to 3rd by turn 2 and continued in 5th after a few laps later until I blew up after Conrod halfway through and used my reset. Then I spun and hit the wall in the dipper and hit the wall every time I was on my out lap. Pitted 3 more time after 1 lap. Then got running with a bad motor which blew up with 1 lap to go finishing 13th out of 18 or so. I had most of my fun in the first half.

agreed, I watched the last ten laps of the real race which was really cool

edit:race starts at 12:30

GSRC does really good broadcasts.

It seems to work best when configured in "extended desktop mode". The UI rendering has been redone this time to fix it in 3D space, it's really cool. The resolution is much improved in the DK2 - and the experience is really intense.

Great news for us Rifters. Especially after the , erm, disappointment that was AC support.

While the rift is cool i still wouldn't want to use one due to the low res even with DK2. I would wait for DK3 when the res is even higher then it would be interesting to use. Eventually it could replace the need for triple screens.

I think the Rift is a pretty awesome concept, but I don't see myself using it for sim-racing as I won't be able to see any of my peripherals like the button box, shift lights, wheel, shifter and so on...

While I do like it and can probably even see myself owning one in the future, if the visuals and all come together as I expect they will, I don't really see this as a triple screen replacement for racing. Some of my favorite cars to race have an H pattern shifter and I don't see the Rift working out very well with a shifter. If your hands have to leave whatever it is you use to control your movements your not only going to struggle to find what your looking for, but also to get your hands back to where they were.

I used to have triple screens but since owning a DK1 and now a DK2 I have removed them from my set up. Despite the low resolution and despite not being able to see my peripherals the immersion of the Rift is way beyond anything that could be achieved with triple screens. My triple screens were 2D, had these ugly bezels in the way, didn't allow me to look over my shoulder, had a very low vertical FOV, made it feel like a computer game etc. etc..

I think if you've races enough, you'd know where your shifter was.
Yes but you also need to remember that there is a shifter in the virtual car that you will be reaching for because that's what your seeing. So while racing in the heat of the battle that's what you will be reaching for, not where your actual shifter is. Where that shifter sits will vary widely from car to virtual car.
