I'm having a lot of fun with the street stocks on the Charlotte track. I just don't understand why there are so many wrecks. The track is plenty big and wide enough for these cars.

In one race I was running 2nd and the guy in front of me was weaving and darting back and forth. It was really starting to piss me cause I kept having get out of the throttle and adjusting my line. So with 2 to go I got a run on the outside of turn 2 and guess what? This time I didn't lift and he cut across my nose and into the wall he went. Guy was so pissed, but this could have happened on every lap with the way he was driving.

I really hope the higher up oval series have some more level headed racers.

I can barely do a lap in that thing! I'll be going along and then I'll just spin, really makes me feel noobish. :ouch: I do really good when you can't adjust the settings, but I really suck in that race.

And driving the Skippy is a lot more fun than before. Counter steering seems to have an affect now.

Not that anyone is gonna really give a damn, but the iracing 2.0 #7 is 23rd right now in the Nationwide series race right now.

@OLDSKOOLACURA - Week 13 is happening right now, you have until this Monday to get your SR up to 3.00.

@RACECAR - I guess the best deals right now are the 1 year for $75, or the 3 months for the price of one.

I have done a couple of Okayama races this morning. I came first in a race about an hour ago. They guys out front were having a great race until one of them decided blocking would be a fantastic idea. That resulted in this:

The white car was running first place (the car out the front of them was a lap or more down) and had been for the last 9 laps. I had started in 5th, made my way up to 3rd and as I rounded that last corner I was greeted with that. A quick dab of the brakes and a pretty awesome swerve had me running first place for the remainder of the race.

As far as I am aware, I am just running the baseline setup. The only thing I have changed is the amount of fuel, they give you about three times too much :p.

So yeah, no particular setup. It usually just comes down to the way people drive the cars, it's not difficult to win when people don't have a clue what they are doing.

Don´t need a setup really for Mazda, it´s probably worth 3-4 tenths on a big track like SPA compared to the rookie fixed setup.
But the dynamics change and the car is easier to flick into the corners.
Doesn´t have to work as hard to go fast.

How much would you guys say it would be to get into this from scratch (other than the wheel and computer)?

What do you mean? How hard? Or how much the cost is? To run the basic package (the standalone subscription) which gives you a few cars, and a fair amount of tracks to get you going through the rookie series costs 12 or so dollars for three months. Its when you want to get into the higher licenses and drive the other cars that you have to spend a bit of money, or alot.

Okay so you really could get by on the $12 eh? That's what they made it sound like but wanted to see if that was true or was there more things to buy.

Recently I got gifted iRacing for 3 months (thanks to Legendary724) and I'm absolutely loving the experience online. The racing online is mostly fantastic compared to every other game I've played online. So far my last couple of races have been fairly decent, mostly with the MX5 roadster and Street Stock.

Just finished racing twice in a row at Okayama in the MX5s, came second both times. 👍

You can get by but it wont be too much fun. The standard pack will get you out of the rookie series for the 12 dollars but unless you want to sit there and grind your way up the licenses (fast tracking) you should buy extra cars and tracks depending on your license.

Posted on here about a month back, finally got my cockpit set up and downloading iracing while typing this.

Running 3 monitors and a g27, trying to take advantage of the 3 month offer.

If anyone has any advice it'd be appreciated, as never played this before.

Practice before you race, don't be intimidated by other drivers laptimes and press tab to see where you're losing time. Time trials can be used to boost your safety rating.

Mostly, have fun.

Guys, Last night I noticed my FPS droped down to 35 on the pace lap at Sebting night, and normally when running by myself it will be at arround 85. What can I do to get better FPS consistency?

Do you use GameBooster? It kills all kinds of background tasks and stabilized my fps. I only use it during races but that's because I'm lazy.

There is also a "secret" deal that iRacing has been running for the past few months. It is only "secret" because they do not actively promote it and it is tucked away in the iRacing League site...
$6 for one month, $49 for one year

I signed up for one year, but I had experience with the game so I knew I would be in iRacing for the long haul (i even signed up for another year with their iRacing2.0 renewal discount!)

No I don't...No clue what it is either!

I've just got back into iRacing - had my best result in a race, 8th position.

What I'm wondering though, does any body here have any tips on how to get my rating up!? This sim is quite hard to learn!

Gamebooster. By the looks of it, it gets rid of all kinds of background tasks that takes up processor cycles, meaning your games will run faster.

That's it. In iRacing I never noticed that much of a rise in fps but it helped to stop the drops I was having with larger fields. Sorry I didn't include a link I'm at work on my phone.

So I was just racing in Okayama and with 5 laps to go some random idiot decides to take us both out of the race:

Lost 61 iRating points and luckily just 0.01 SR point.

Is this worth reporting? Will they at least give me back the iRating and SR?

Could be worth reporting I guess. Dont think you'll get anything back from it though.

Am I the only one here just watching the bottom splits as a spectator and enjoying the messes that they are? A lot more fun than trying to race them...

Wow okay thanks. Probably something I'll look into getting in September if that deal is still on.

WTH!? I practice and qualify 2nd for the Okayama track, then I go to race and it takes me to Laguna Seca and well that was just a bad time (I never been on that track).

To start it off, my dumb#@$% let the clutch out on the grid for some reason and I got a false start, so I had to do a stop and go. Then as I was going into the pits I was going way too fast so I got a longer penalty. I then kept getting "off track" in the cork screw, I then spin, and to top it off in the last corner I get hit in the drivers side rear and messes my axle and steering up. so I then have to sit in the pits to get fixed and towed (because there was no way I could make it around the whole track with that damage).

Some how out of all that I finished 13th out of 17 and only lose -0.10 SR. So i'm still at SR 3.52, so I will be moving up.

The loss of SR didn't make me as mad as me getting a false start, because it would of been a fun race. Everyone was around the same driving skills and speed.
