Ok, poll for which contest entry I should submit has been posted here. Vote for which paint scheme you think I should submit for the contest.

Yeah, not enough interest yet. We'll try again tomorrow, same time, and if at least two other people join me I'll start it up.

Make the time more friendly for the rest of the world if possible and i´m sure you can get some more guys to join. Racing in the middle of the night on a sunday won´t attract many racers ;)

Oh my god, my rating is so hard to move. It just goes up and down and up and down thanks to idiots who cant drive.

I was at 2.71 or so and now im probably down to 2.4_ (left a race just then) all because some guy came out on track after running wide right into my rear tire. Every time I went to brake or put on throttle I was just spinning or losing control, furthermore bringing my rating down so I figured it was best to leave.

I just want to get out of damn rookie class :(.

If I make it earlier in the evening for European guys it'll just push the people in the Eastern hemisphere farther back into the morning so there's a compromise havng it @ 22:00 GMT. A little late, but not extreme in Europe, mid day/early evening through out the U.S and about 8AM in Eastern Australia and a little earlier in Japan. Sorry if it's the crack of dawn out in Perth.

Doesn't have to be a set time anyway. Just tried to see if there would be anyone around at that time since I had time free specifically then.

We'll just call it as we see it next time.

Yeah man, anyone can participate in the Indy 500. They're running skill level races open to all. Should be lots of fun. I just bought Indy for it, already have the Dallara.

I mean if I have an inactive account, can I use that promotion code for indy and dallara?

Well if your constantly in problems with other drivers (or idiots as i like to call them)
When you sit on the grid, just do the start normally but go off the track quickly and slowly so you don´t hit anything. Let the other guys drive past.
Enter the track and watch all the idiots out on the grass as you pass by.

Either that or hope you get pole, and just gun it like you never have before :)

BTW how much is Dallara and indy combined? I got mail from iRacing what says that if I subscribe them again, I will get 30$ iracing credits

tomorrow will be an fun event at SPA.

i´m in. :) 45 people we are already.

I just posted in the thread showing my interest (will be using C6R if I enter). Hopefully George gets back to me before the session begins :dopey:

I am down for some racing with some old GT buddies! My cars are: C6R, Impala Class A, both MX5's, legends, spec ford, solstice and street stock. Tracks are: Summit Point WV(I grew up near this track!:)), Charlotte, Daytona, Lanier, Lime Rock Laguna Seca, Kagayama, Oxford, SoBo and Thompson. I was going to buy some others but I didn't want to spend money on something I won't use for a long time, but that doesn't mean I'm not down to buy a couple more cars or tracks. I got another $50 burning a hole in my paypal pocket. :D

You should try and sign up for the race today @ Spa (the one Rudi posted)...if you read this message in time. If not, maybe we can do a race at Okayama later today or in the near future 👍

Or you could not qualify, start last and let everyone else plow off the corner whilst you drive in one piece with the lead.

I used to start from the pits. If you want to give up track opposition your almost garunteed to not crash.

Sometimes i F-ing hate the F1 car. Why the hell are we running at Laguna Seca? Its far too difficult in the car

They probably cost about that much, maybe less. The $30 iRacing credits thing is probably the one with the 1 year membership so be careful if you dan't want a 1 year membership.

Try it at lime rock park, 1 small mistake and the bumpy road takes you out easily and fast. I think Laguna Seca is more adequate though definitely not the most adequate of all

Good point ;) Much better advice!

Laguna? I skipped that **** and went right to SPA, there should be a hosted session up now from me so you can run if you want to do some practice.
Laguna is a SR killer and horrible for a F1 car. Sure it´s nice to hotlap but not so much to race on.

I was planning to do the V8 but i did a Qualifying session doing 2 stints at a time, first lap i just cruised around until the hairpin, took that wide so you can get a nice acceleration out of the corner and then did one lap.

did that 3-4 times, got two 1x´s and one 0x. When the session was over i got a shock ;) 0.70 SR Thank you very much :P

So now i am still B class but have 4.52 SR and have started practicing for SPA.
Did mostly race fuel laps around 1.48-49 seconds trying to learn the track in the F1 mostly. Decided then to do a quick run with Q fuel and did a 47 i think.

Should reach 46´s or maybe even 45´s at the end of the week.
The track is simply amazing. Going into Pouhon you don´t even brake, just let of the gas quickly and flick it in, it will stick :)
Proper F1 track!

I was gardening earlier, so I couldn't race. :ouch: But I will get a couple hours in later, probably starting around 9-10 eastern time.👍

I just bought the Dallara Honda Indi Car, gonna get into the rookie class Indy 500 on Saturday! Any suggestions on setup?

Still in the Top 25 for Div2 F1 series. Holding a 22nd spot. Should've had a 4th at Laguna but got taken out and had to settle for 7th. Hurt my points a bit. And now to a track that I struggle, Spa. Love it but I struggle :(

Man I can't wait to get out of the rookie class, I wanna get in some racing with people who actually can race without wreking you and messing you up! Last night got wrecked twice by the same moron while I was on the lead and going to pass him! He was 8 laps down and his rating was .48 yes you read right .48!!!

Just did 30 minutes of testing. Fuel seems to effect the car a lot around Spa. 130 lbs of fuel is a 1:51.0 while 30 lbs of fuel gets me to a 1:48.9! Guess I'm going to have to tweak my race setup a lot.

Ok! so I'm taking a whole new aproach towards iRacing, it worked out perfect on my first session tonight! I found a new game in iRacing I call it Watch The Idiot in Front of You Spin! It's quite a fun game! What I do is I start from as further back as I can, let everyone pass, then I go, I don't go fast but just enough to be safely behind the moron in front. I just follow them all race long watching their stupidity at work and as a reward I get an awsome safety rating and a perfect race! SR is climbing now!

So what your saying is do average lap times (2 or so seconds average slower than the leader) and come in at around middle place to get lots of SR?

Lets say I do 1:02's on that Lime Rock Track and come 7 out of 12, while getting a perfect or near perfect (2 or so inc race) I will be better off than getting steady 1:00's and coming 2nd? This sounds easy.

My best on Lime Rock was a 1:00.2xx, now back in Okayama I really haven't tried going fast, my best so far is a 1:04.448.

Something weird just happened, I finished this race with no incidents exept for an off on the last lap(dropped a tire on the last corner like a moron) but yet it showed 2 car contact incidents wich is completely erroneous. Have the replay saved and all! Anything I can do about this? Any suggestions?

That sounds great, and terrible. I did get punted today, I swore I was playing GT5 for a second! And a guy accidentally gave me a hard bump at Lanier in the Legends, but that isn't as bad as the purposeful punt the dude gave me in the Miata (I remember his name and car color though!).

But the racing at Okayama in the Miata is much more fun than Lime Rock, thankfully. Maybe we can announce what hours we will enter the race and maybe we can get a few of us on the grid together. I'll give that a shot tomorrow before I plan on racing, after the kids settle down and such.

I am getting a better feel for the braking, finally! I feel like I can almost push as hard as I can in GT5, but not yet, that will take a couple more days.;) For comparison, after a Q session and a race I did a 1'03.0 as my best time at Okayama, fastest time I saw another guy do was a 1'01.9. I'm not too mad at being a second off a C license driver.

A lot of people seem to say just start from the pits and drive around slow and race for SR, but to be honest anybody who is competitive is not there for that and not interested in that, they want to race. Also to add to that, driving for safety rating is a good way to drop your iRating, which is great if you want to be paired up with slower drivers, but also great if you want to be paired up with bad drivers.

Last nov I joined up, did some practice and just jumped in and learned racing the hard way, my first win soon came and so did my D licence (despite some hiccups to start with), then i did the same with oval racing. On promotion i was at around 1600 irating for both, i've not done any races since so i'm still there.

I came back to iRacing around a month ago and have just run time trials and explored different cars (oval and road) currently C licence in both. iRacing for me was a reality check and.. shock. While I did well around lime rock in the Mx5 or in the Legends rookie car (no longer a series) I was just way out of my league in the higher licence cars so just decided I am going to drive time trials and test sessions until my skill/speed is up to competing with some of the faster guys.

Rambled on a bit, I am against the whole "Racing for SR" thing, racing should be racing, crashes wrecks and all.

As for speed... It comes with time, personally I felt I was fast until I saw the fastest guys and then stared in disbelief at how they were doing their times, but as you pickup and take breaks from the game, change cars and go back to things I find you learn to see and feel a lot more. With time i've developed a feel for iRacing/Simracing thats allowed me to comfortably do things that maybe back in november I just could not understand. With that said, i'm still miles behind the fast guys.

I am with you man! But after last night's experience(got wrecked twice by the same moron while leading and lapping him, that moron was 8 laps behind and has a SR of .47) I've decided to get out of the rookie license before I start racing for the win again. So far it has worked amazingly! I'm at 3.44 the highest it has ever been, at this rate I'll be out of the rookie class in one more race!
