The "smoking gun" picture that I saw posted was a closeup of the shifter inside of the car we are getting, and it was an H-pattern shifter. Also there was a press release from RUF about the car when it was initially developed saying they are making it a standard 6-speed for the purists.

I'd say those two things are a pretty good indicator that it will be H-pattern. However, nothing official has been said by iRacing about the transmission, so we'll see.
 
Only bad thing bout using correct FOV is that you cant see your wheels in an open wheeler. Correct FOV is one of those things that just works much better with 3 screens. But thats not an option for me til a few months from now when I have more room
 
If you've got a video card that can do it (pretty much any decent Radeon card or a Nvidia SLI setup) you can do 3 screens very very cheaply with very little space required.

Just get three standard old style "square" (4:3 ratio) 17" LCD screens and use those. You can get them for $30-40 each or so from outlet companies or local classifieds. They end up not taking up much more space than a single 24" widescreen. Especially if you angle them at 45 degrees.

Then you end up with a resolution of 3840x1024 and a decent "accurate" FOV of around 115-120 depending on your distance to the screen.

Seriously, I would take that cheap setup over a single "nice" 24" widescreen any day of the week.
 
triple screens cost about 450$ minimum

100$ for 20 inch acer monitors x3= 300$
radeon hd 6850 graphics card= 130$
active display port=30$
 
$450 minimum? I just explained a way to get it for much less than that, perhaps you missed my previous post, no problem though, I'll go into more detail now....

If you are on an extreme budget, you can still do it reasonably well.

Radeon 5450 or 5850 will run iRacing at 3840x1024 at medium settings. $50 or less.
3x 17" LCD 4:3 monitors: $100-150 max
1x DP-DVI active adapter: $25 from Amazon with free shipping.

So probably less than $200 and you could have triple screen running at acceptable frame rates in iRacing.

I think rather than the FOV adjustment. They need to adjust the height first. Every car i've driven sits much lower than what you get in iRacing. I'd rather them fix that.
 
There is a height adjustment hotkey in iRacing. There is also another way to adjust height via the Motion View Cockpit plugin, but I haven't messed with that so I can't comment on it.

Is there really? I'm going to have to look into this. Would make me much slower than others, but it would be much more useful for practice. I use the Motion View Cockpit. But I just enabled it really lol
 
I've only heard about the Motion View Cockpit method, so I don't know how to do it.

However, the normal iRacing way is simple:

Go to options, and the the "other" tab, under "other controls" you will see "Shift Display Up/Down" where you can adjust the hotkey.

Thats why I am at FOV68. I can see a little bit more to the left and right so I can see whether my wheels lock up (so I have two ref points, sight and sound).
 
Thanks guys but I'm not going 3 screens atm. Id have to replace my 560ti or add on a 2nd card. Not feeling like doing all that atm. I promised myself i was done upgrading my computer for a few months. I know too many guys killing it with just 1 screen so dont feel like its a must have
 
Like I mentioned earlier, going with 3 screens will improve your racecraft immediately. It's just amazing what you don't see with only one screen.

Yeah, plenty of fast guys out there running a single screen. Three screens (or more) does wonders though for increasing immersion, sense of speed, and situational awareness. The biggest benefit for me though is it allows me to run the correct FOV and still see what I need to see.

In the mean time, move your single screen as close as possible to your face. Do whatever you have to do to get it closer. If you are running a 24" or so screen, and it's any more than 2.5 feet from your face, you are selling yourself short. The closer you can get it the better correct FOV you'll get.

Or there's always TrackIR, which takes time to get used to, but some people swear by it once they have become accustomed to it.
 
Hey Swift thanks for your advice again. Road Atlanta is a tricky course but I'm getting the hang of it. Just gotta practice this track a bit more and I'll be rdy to run it

Just wish this course did not twist so much with all these elevation changes

Solved my issue. Had an old iphone case, used velcro to stick it to the bottom of my TV, put my iphone there now.

After a few laps at my WORST track, Laguna in the SKip and..

1.39's :) 3 seconds off WR and its my worst track. Pretty happy about this. I thought this week I would lose my time trail no.1 position but looks like I will be set to keep it. Should place top 20 overall in ALL Skips. Current best time is 1.37's.

I still got a few more days to iron things out but I rather go for consistency now instead of getting a better time.

We understand all the requests for mixed class racing and not falling on deaf ears. Creating a new MC license class is not happening before next build and let’s put that aside for now. We would have to evaluate that as a project against other projects, but again it is noted.

Having flexibility to grid certain cars together in certain splits (grouping cars versus spreading them out) also noted but again a significant project. Having minimums for a license class also a project and frankly part of the same project. Moving up the minimum field size in a certain car class for MC racing in essence does very little. Again we need to build flexibility into series architecture allowing us to have greater control but the engineer who needs to be part of that change to the architecture is knee deep in another project. It is noted, again good projects because more cars will be coming to iRacing that are mixed car candidates down the road.

Additionally, I have scheduled a meeting with the protest committee to specifically review how we handle mixed class, along with discussing other improvements to protests.

Right now Steve Myers is making the schedule for next season. That is something we can impact right now if we focus.

It still sounds like a GT only series is desired so moving forward with that. How about we put that at the C level? We then have the existing series with those two cars and the LMP car at the B level? Or should we put both series at the B level? We could have the series at the same track each week or two weeks in a row as a couple members suggested or rotate the series back and forth every other week.
 
Giving us a GT only series will make many people happy, as driving with many of the HPD drivers just takes all the fun out of racing due to their utter disrespect for proper passing locations and the racing line. Not saying all HPD drivers are that way, but a good number of them are giving the others a terrible reputation.

But the HPD drivers still won't be happy because there will likely be even smaller fields of GT cars to navigate through.
 
Mixed class racing with hpd,vette's and ford gt's kinda does need to be fixed.

Even though I never competed in the series, I heard very little people use the ford gt since it's the slowest and there are always hpd's trying to pass who end up crashing into the ford gt.
 
I entered four or five races in the Ford GT because I liked the car. I wasn't really competing just wanted to see how it was. It wasn't good, lets say that.

Oh yeah, I think it is called sumfink like Glove Pie? Supposedly, it always cockpit adjustment in the iracing 3D environment and not just the POV from the iracing shift+[] control?
