Yeah i just protested him, it turns out he just signed up to iracing yesterday. So maybe he doesnt have a clue what the community is all about just yet. I didnt have any incident points until that happened either, sigh.

Matthew Miller - this is another name to avoid! I know it's frowned upon on the iRacing site to name and shame, but on here it is different, right?

Anyways, just check out the videos I posted in the video thread to see his intention hits. I just wish I reported him for that.

Start from the pits and race your own race.

Don't get caught up in fights with other cars on the track, I wouldn't really bother what position you finish either. Just try to have a race with 0 incidents.

Just did two races in iRacing, but I started them both from the grid. Not sure how I start from pit. Can anyone explain please?

When that green button at the top of the screen is counting down from 60 seconds to grid, instead of pressing that, just let it run down. When it reaches 0, it will say you've missed the start, then you click the button and voilà, you're sat in the pits 👍

What’s the difference between the vet and the GT? Just curious but I hope to run this class when I’m a high enough licence.

Well the Vette is a GT1 car, while the GT is a GT2 car. The Vette is slightly faster, etc.

Both cars are awesome, but they are very different from one another.

-The Vette can be a bit more difficult to drive because of the carbon barkes wich will lock up in a hurry! The hardest part with this car is the brakes, once you've mastered the brakes everything else is second nature, good throttle control will help you turn the car and smooth inputs rewards you big in this car.

-The Ford GT, my experience is limited on this car but I can give you the basics. Initially it's an easier car to drive, everything you've learned so far applies to this car. You can pretty much jump in and safely drive it arround the track. Now when it comes time to extract the speed out of this car you really need to be real smooth, a very easy and long turn in and track out rewards you with speed! It doesn't like to turn with the right foot, you can doit but it'll cost you speed and time. In this car is all about being smooth and using all of the track.

Fortunately there's a big list of strong setups for the cars on the forums so you can pretty much just focus on practicing instead of tunning the car to the track wich takes up a lot of time.

It doesnt look to me like the first hit was intentional just bad driving on his part, but the hit after was deliberate.

I disagree. It looks completely intentional to me. Protest the d-bag.

PS, Jav, that guy in the HPD who ran you over drives like an idiot. Based on his record I would not say he is a good driver. He's been on iRacing for about 3 years, has hundreds of starts but only about 1.5% win percentage; he rarely finishes with a good result, probably because he crashes out a lot. He needs to go back to the MX-5 or Skippy for a few months and (re)learn the basics.

I too would say the first was due to him loosing traction after the corner, put the power down too early and the back steps out making him spin. The second however, that was 100% intentional.

Do you reckon we could start a 'black list' of people we should be wary about?

What? The Corvette is extremely easy to drive and keep under control. Can't say the same about the GT, at all. It hates turns, it hates any hint of slipping at the rear end, it hates bumps.

Yeah that guys is just a joke! Thank's to idiots like that we have such low numbers on the GT classes...

Eric.

Wich tells me you have the braking part down! ;-)
That's why I said once you get the braking down it all becomes second nature. Most people new to that car give up too quick because of the barkes.

Dumb question of the day, is there anyway in iracing basic paint system to make a custom color. It seems like they would offer that, but maybe I haven't figured out how.

I've never played with it, but I think you can. Its got a paint mixer so I would say just play arround with it!

I guess I'm just slow because I haven't found the paint mixer but maybe I missed it!

I've never seen a way, just the palette of colours that they give you. Which are fairly encompassing, but not the sharpest tool ever. I guess if you really want the perfect colour, you need to edit your skin yourself. Which isn't as hard as it sounds, really.

I never felt like the brakes were particularly difficult. I don't even have any fancy brake mods.

Has anyone seen or heard anything about Season 3 yet?

I think someone said that the McLaren wouldn't be ready for S3, that sucks, but oh well.

So I'm hoping for the Lotus 49 and the NTM for the Lotus 79.

Top wishes for everyone else?

I'm pretty certain the Mclaren is next on the list and you are correct it'll be out for S4 not S3, so I doubt the Lotus 49 will be out by then. Another thing that's happening is Legends are back in rookie and SS are now class D according to the survey, probably advanced rookie though

So for S4 we would be getting the McLaren and the Lotus?

Hummm, hopefully not, maybe we can get a mid-season release so we can at least run it in hosted practice sessions and testing.

Going by the mid-season video released from iRacing.TV they're trying to release animated flag men (albeit start line only for now) and afew more tracks are penciled in for new shader updates. From memory I know there's Spa and Indy plus a couple extra.

The lotus I don't know about it's release but the Mclaren will not make S3

What about the Ruf? I thought it was coming out for S3, haven't seen anything about it so I'm assuming it won't be ready...

I thought they said before that the release order was going to be Caddy, McLaren, RUF, Lotus. But I haven't heard anything about it in a while.
