Thanks guys, but what I meant by stuck in 4th, is that I never got past the 97 mile I think, it was strange, it felt the car was struggling, but then that all went away when I tested it, I don't know..

Gotcha. You likely tested the car using the "Test" tab once, with whatever happens to be the baseline setup on that car, with a rear end gear set for a short track. When you tested the next time, you did it from the "Race" tab, where it says "Test Car on Track". When you do that for a fixed setup series, it forces the fixed setup for that session.

Yeah that's probably what happened. I wasn't sure about the speeds should be since I haven't ran the street stock at Charlotte in probably 6 months or so.

Just protested someone for abusing me in the chat, intentionally wrecking me after I accidentally hit him. Reading up on the Sporting Code, he could be revoked permanently of his membership.

So the sporting code says, very rarely happens. You did include a print screen of the chat with your protest right? If so he'll be getting a vacation from iRacing, they have no patience for this kind of personal attacks via text chat.

Yes I have, including replays of the incidents.

Exactly what happened :D dude thank you very much 👍

If you wanted to use the fixed setup in a regular test session (using the Test tab specifically), you'd go to Garage>Iracing Setups and find "Charlotte_Fixed" or something like that. Be sure not to use the Charlotte Legends setup.

I swear my last 5 or 6 races around Charlotte have been a disaster. Literally every race i either get spun by an idiot or someone wrecks in front of me and i cant avoid it. This is getting ridiculous, i cant even finish a race without spinning somewhere and its never my fault. I need to rant, im just fed up with this. :yuck:

Try racing the B-car at New Hampshire!

I've entered a race there and spectated a couple top split races and it's ridiculous, we're talking 10 cautions in a 50 lap race! My race had 7 cautions and after the 3rd restart I just moved over to the inside across the start/finish and let everyone by and just sat about 2 seconds behind the pack so I didn't get caught up in any of the carnage.

Even the trucks at Bristol was better than these races. It's funny but annoying to drive half the race under yellow and finish under yellow.

I've focused most my racing on Late Models at Bristol this week. It's fun. :D In almost every one I've finished about 3 seconds back from the leaders, but had been gaining time on them. If I could get a stronger start and not be held up by a slower car I'd have a shot at a top 3 finish. Finishing 4th or 5th so far, all in top splits.

Man I'm so pissed right now:mad::mad:! I just lost close to 200 irating in 2 races in an hour time span. I haven't lost that much in such a short time ever. Worst part was it was on the same track, the same corner, around the same lap number. It was unbelievable. First was a truck race at iowa. Micheal Conti was in there racing and he is currently in 2nd place behind Ray Afalla in the oval dwc so it was a decent field. Around lap 10 I was running around 8th I think and a guy drives in a bit to hard into turn 1 and catches my LR quarter. Worst part was in sent my rear end towards the wall and my truck got stuck in the wall of all things so I needed a tow. Got done towing and 5 mins required and 9 mins optional repairs so I just call it quits.

About when I get out a national race at iowa is getting ready to start. Figured I'd run it and just chill so I could finish so my irating drop wouldn't be as bad from the last terrible race. I qualified early on in the week and was 6th overall at one point so I knew I would start near the front. Started 2nd and was driving my race around 5th or so and same thing again going into turn 1 about lap 10 guy just completely runs me over before I even turn into the corner and then says "Oh you were stopping". What? I was stopping. I mean it's a race so of course I just wasn't stopping in the middle of the track. Like I told him I let out the gas and braked the same spot as I had done the other laps, but of course he said the same thing. I go back and look at the replay and like I thought he went in too hot and just ran me over. Just hard to believe the same thing happened twice in a row at the same corner. Going into the truck race i was almost at 2700 irating, but now I'm barley over 2500 thanks to the 2 idiots. Just seems to be my luck. I have a bunch of incident free races where I gain some irating and sr then all of a sudden I get crashed out of multiple races in a row and it all gets knocked down.

I understand where you are coming from. Same thing was happening to me in the oval rookie series awhile ago. But I know once you get up their in irating that's what it's all about. Seriously though 2700 irating is quite good congrats on just getting their. I still have never seen anyone with a black license.

edit: at Jav, i voted on your poll its such a hard questions to answer. i went with no. I LOVE THE HPD and i love the other cars with it, but participation is so small id rather it just be 1 make per race.

My irating is about 1060. Last couple of races were bad for me, maybe I don't practice enough I don't know. I was pretty slow with the Skip Barber in Ohio. That makes me feel down and want to quit the game but then I refresh myself with some oval which I don't care about my rating there, but with less stress it's more fun and I finish at better positions lol. Any tips?

Yeah it can kind of be expected in a rookie race and even in the national race to an extent, but a top split truck race with pro guys in it should be much cleaner racing than that. It just sucks because even if I try I can only gain about 100 irating in a weeks time so it will take about 2 weeks for me to gain back what I lost last night in one hour. That's what I hate about the irating system. I understand you should lose some points when you finish badly, but it shouldn't be as harsh as it is. I finish in say 5th or so in a race I'll gain 25 points or so depending on the sof. Yet if you finish near the back because of a crash your going to lose 70+ points. Just gets frustrating after a while when your trying to build you irating up and 2 idiots just run you over from behind after you have had to slam the brake to keep from doing the same to someone else. Most people don't race with any respect at all in official races that's why I still like doing league stuff more.

Thanks for the compliments on the irating. I didn't do all that many official races when I started iracing just mainly league races so just getting into building my irating up starting a season or two ago. I thought I was going to be hitting 2800 last night but instead it's the exact opposite and I'm barely 2500 now. Once I got around 2400 it started taking me longer to get any higher that's one reason I'm so mad about last night. Everything I've done in the past couple weeks in completely shot now. As far as racing with pros in can be fun sometimes. In the league I'm in we had nick ottinger race with us for a while and he is 3rd currently in the oval dwc with a couple race wins and he got pole and won his first ever dwc race. Along with real nascar truck series driver cale gale but some of my friends that race oval in real life knew him anyway. We've had a couple of pros race with us this season as well. In a fixed setup race like the trucks it's not too bad but don't really want to race against them in the A car since that's what they mainly race. Those guys spend 10's of hours working on their setups with their teams so they are nearly impossible to beat in the A car.

You just need to finish in the top half of the field to gain iRating. In the lower splits that you'll be in, You really just need to avoid any crashes or spins and half of the idio, err, drivers will take themselves out.

So basically in the lower splits, drive for SR to gain iR and in the higher splits, drive for iR to gain SR

You know, in the higher splits you need to just forget about both iR and SR. You are gonna drop wheels off at some point to stay competitive and what's going to save you from not losing ammounts of iR and SR is just to not worry about it, I've lost more SR trying not to loose it than I have by just leting the car be happy and riding it out. When you try to not go off and get an SR hit thinghs get ugly and you end up wrecking or loosing more than you would initially, same goes for iR, try too hard and you'll lose a lot! Go with it and more than likely you'll end up winning some!

I find for some odd reason. In the higher splits the pilots act more douche bagish. I have lost more IR and SR in the top splits than in the lower ones. It is almost like, since I'm C class they tend to get offended if I make a move or god forbid pass someone. It's just really frustrating at times. This is of course referring to the Street Stock races. Which I know is a rookie class but, in those splits there ain't no rookies. Just my 2 cents.

People just refuse to stop wrecking me the past few days, lap 1 of a race its just about getting in line and warming up the tires so you can get after it. Im just following traffic in front of me and people keep putting their nose where it doesnt belong and spinning me out. My SR has taken a -.30 hit since i got my D license. I cant finish one race without someone getting into me. This is beyond frustrating for me right now. I feel like Kyle Busch every time someone hits me.

What series are you running?

Jav
What series are you running?

Mazda Cup, its the only one people are running tonight. I dont have money to add other courses and cars. I just did get a good race in, started 3rd and finished 2nd in the top split. Managed to get a 59.8 during the race which is my best time so far.

Gotcha! My advice would be to take advantage of the GTC since they are running Okayama this week. Get your MPR requirements by doing 4 TTs(all you need is a 5 lap run with no incidents to make it official) or 4 races between tomorrow and 6:30pm EST Saturday and focus on having your SR above 3.0 so you can be elegible for promotion in 2 weeks.

Yeah my SR is above 3, and id like to do the GTC races but i didnt see any listed for the evening. I really wanna get in on the cadillac and mustang races but i dont have the money to add new cars/tracks just yet.

The racing on the GTC is great! I love it, but for some reason it only gets 3 days a week, it runs M-T/W-Th/F-S...

Edit: Thought you might be interested in this, I'll be running the Vette:

Pretty sweet, do you ever upload replays of your races? Whenever i get good enough on this game id like to take part in more endurance races myself.

I Was in the exact same place you are at this point last season and I ran the GTC at okayama 3 times, got my MPR, and made it to class C, once you do that, and you buy some cars, it gets a lot more fun

Not really, I don't hav a program to make videos, just the free trial Fraps wich only gives me 30 seconds...

Exactly! Once you get to C you'll be able to run so many great series!

Been following this for awhile and it's gotten me keen. I took Caddy up on their 6 month free offer so someone bounce me a PM for referral.

EDIT: It's been taken.

I think the Trucks and the Star Mazda are possibly the two most "beginner friendly advanced" vehicles in the game. They aren't terribly difficult to drive or setup and the community is very friendly on both sides, and best of all, they are fun and the races go official every day of the week.

I always mention those two series to anyone stepping into C-class or just getting into iRacing.
