Got all my parts in for the computer, loading windows 7 as we speak! Once i get everything situated i should be able to hop on to iracing later on. For now its just a waiting game, im just happy everything cut on and no issues so far. Will post specs and performance tests later and hopefully get some videos up comparing the difference from this laptop and my new pc. I know this isnt racing related, but im freakin excited.

This thing looks virtually complete, really hoping for a S4 release date.

Can't wait to see your post. Got mine only a month ago, never looked back.

That Mclaren is  What series do you guys think it'll run in? GT Challenge? Or will it be on its own?

I'm interested to know where they will slot it in as well.

Could it possibly be the savior of the Proto/GT series? Or will the few boneheaded HPD drivers that are making some of us (me included) not want to race scare away the new McLaren drivers too?

What it SHOULD do is replace the Mustang in the Grand Am races. I know it's not that way in the real life series but it doesn't matter because the Mustang we have now is nothing like the one in the real life series either.

All I do know is it will be by far the best looking car in iRacing.

Nothing like getting excited then having to download 123 Windows Updates! haha, but the windows performance marks give my cpu/mobo/gpu all in the 7.2-7.4 range out of 7.9 so im excited to see what this thing will do once i get done updating everything.

Where do you find that performance thing, will check mine soon.

Control Panel, under where it says System and Security click on Review your computers status. Then on the left click on view performance information. Run the test and it will grade your hardware from a 1 to 7.9

That's what I've been waiting for for the last 3 seasons!! Apparently the turbo physics are way more complex than what I thought...

I think it'll run with the DP, running it on the Proto/GT will cause a lot of trouble with the Ford GT as the cars will have very very similar lap times and any equlization for them is pretty much out of the question on the official series.
Now, on the hosted side you can expect us to run it on our own LM league balanced with the Ford!

I know the feeling..

Good luck with it and hope you have just as much fun with it as I do with mine ;)

After all the drama surrounding that finish at Homestead, I'm considering retiring from the league.

Eric.

What happened? I probably should know.. But I don't :indiff:

Here's our rule regarding the ovals.

Racing on the Apron / Below Yellow Line
1. You cannot put more than 2 wheels and half your car below the yellow line while
racing on the oval. I say not more than half your car because it could be easy to
put both wheels over the line for a second when running the low line....but don't
go further than that and DEFINITELY don't put your entire car down onto the flat
portion of the apron.
2. If you notice a driver racing on the apron, you should file a post race protest in the
same manner as an incident protest so the IRT can determine if a penalty is
warranted.

The rulings on this will be, if you are protested and found in violation: first offense =

free, second offense = 10 point penalty (same as missing the first mandatory pit
stop), third or subsequent offense = DQ. DON'T DO IT AND WE WON'T HAVE
TO WORRY ABOUT SORTING THIS ALL OUT!

Ayrton's pass was ruled to be illegal because he gained on Russell when he went on the apron. The penalty was to switch their finishing spots. At the same time we're ignoring Russell's obvious shunt to Ayrton, which Russell claims to be "netcode" and that his replay "which he can't get to upload" shows that he was actually turning to the right to keep under control...

Oh and then Russell just up and quit our team immediately following that race, saying that he expected more respect out of his teammate.

Best racing I've ever had, but I'm sure I won't be missed.

That sucks Erik! Both the ruling and the attitude by your teamates. But that's racing and we all need to follow a code of conduct and stick by it, we may not agree on some decissions or points of view but at the end we need to stick by it and support it.
Your league is a very good one, the best I've seen in a while! Give it a chance!

??? Man what a weird turn of events for you guys. That was some exciting racing, i was hoping to see more from your league.

 Kevin, I had 7000+ updates on my Windows 7 one time. 123 is NOT that bad. Also, good luck, Eric! (As in, I hope everything works out.) With respect, I'd like to remind everyone, that the last lap is always a bit pushy, especially on ovals.

Considering the three of us were teammates, I thought it would all be taken in fun having a fight like that across the line. The broadcasters obviously loved it. It would have been boring as hell if Ayrton would've tried the high line and not been able to catch him at all.

I mean, when I say "Good luck," all hope is likely not lost, is it? I mean, on GTP, ghskilla & I had a drag race to the finish line, & we respect each other *more* now. <== He's a good guy. Certainly, then, you & your teammates might be able to smooth it over, perhaps?

Oh I remember seeing that video, Grojeans crash reminds me of it and vice versa.

Anyway hope it all works out for the better.

It really has little to do with the teammates and how the decision end solution was not what our rules provide for. Russell rage-quit the team immediately with that finish.

I wish Ayrton and I had practiced driving in tandem. I don't know if the cars could handle being together through the turn, but if they could we would have sailed right on by Russell.

ah, yeah, i also saw the vid and comments at the iRacing forum. I hope everythign gets worked out and ends up with a big group hug at the end.

So all of that passing below the line stuff was legal, yes? I was a bit confused by the discussion at the iRacing forum. IIUC, it is illegal to pass below the white line in real-life but not in this virtual series?
