I guess I can't formulate an opinion without being told I'm wrong and should do it just like this... My god.

Of course you can't. You no race clean, go play Mariokart with your little friends! You are not as much sim racer as me hence why you have so little knowledge. The exact inverse of me, in fact. So many people like you ruin the iRacing experience... They should reserve it for TRULY TRUE die hard sim racers. (Like me)

You know me enough to deduce the intention behind this message, right Mac?

If you watched those videos I obviously didn't talk to you, did I ?

Really? Because your post certainly reads as you're addressing everybody who expressed an opinion on 'corner rights'. Everybody else is wrong; you're right. Correct?

Can we all just get along? I always have to wonder why people get mad at each other over a game. It is just a game after all. There are people who will understand what to do correctly. There are people who will somewhat get the picture. And there are others that don't understand at all. There are many different types of people in the world, and we have to accept that. Even in real life racing, these disputes happen. Trust me, I know. It's part of life, learn from the mistake that either of you made, and move on.

I haven't said whats right.. the video 7C is telling you whats right. So no, your not correct.

Mac K
I hope that was intended as a joke..

This is the mentality to many people follow, people see an inch of space, think they're Aryton Senna and go for it, and you can imagine what happens next. Aryton went for gaps when he raced, but only ones he knew he could get through, and people need to realize this. I've had people try to pass me in the worst of spots, and their excuse is "there was a gap". I for one could never concentrate with a bunch of people talking in my ear constantly, and like I said, there is no cross driver communication in real racing and the only form of communication during a race is usually from a spotter. This is just my opinion, but I have no plans any time soon to use a mic any time soon. As for being lapped, if a faster class comes up on me, I hold my line. If I'm being lapped by cars in the same class as me, I move over on the straights and let them go, most races aren't long enough to gain my lap back and I've got nothing to gain.

Yeah this is what I agree with, thats why I said 'calculated risks' I agree people shouldn't overtake when theres a gap in a area of a track that makes no sense. I only overtake when I'm nearly 100% sure that no contact will be made in the safest part of a track, driving smarter and not like a maniac. If my post came off sounding like i'm wreckless its completely untrue, I have a low IPR, and I'm proud of it.

Wow. Well, thanks for clearing that up. Back to the God-tier for you then...

Show's over; I'm done.

When you are lapped you dont race the leader, you lift when its a limited time loss for you, and he will deal with your next competitor next. Do this cleverly and you gain time on the next car. Racing him like that when you are a lap down because "its your right" is just stupid, and no gain for anybody.

great 1st post, you must be an iRacing superstar? lmfao

I only move out of the way if I'm really slow but usually let guys know I'm going to be high or low. In the lower classes when I was still learning the car and racing in traffic I really didn't block or get in the way but as ive become faster even if I'm lap down I will race hard for any spot. I could have made a mistake or got caught up in a mess but I see no reason to not push hard to either try to gain spots or just become better overall (possible learn to drive damaged car fast incase something happen).

Everyone has a different opinion on this but I do agree I don't really like people telling me how to race just because they are behind me or I'm racing them. If it was easy to race, we would all be champions!

Can someone tell me what track this week and next week are late model, Indycar fixed oval, and trucks at? I haven't renewed this month yet, but planning to either this weekend or next.

The way I see it, drivers can't communicate with each other during a real race, so why should I use a mic? If you can't properly overtake and make a few good judgement calls, you shouldn't be racing in my opinion.
I agree 100%
"If you no longer go for the gap, you are no longer a racing driver"

I agree 100%

I dont think you laughed your ass off.

Maybe not a superstar, but I do have 5 times your iRating. I have been reading this forum from time to time, and you usually dont have a clue, so maybe its time you started to take some advice.

It was a great post, no need to have 1000+ messages on a forum to have some common sense. Racing someone will always be slower than go alone or work together with the one you race. And whats the point of not letting him have the pass for free if someone lap you. I would hate to work for a overtake I already did 3 times.. And a overtake that doesn't give me position.

The blue flag rules are obviously dated back to when there was enough splits to have lower ranked driver, middle ranked driver and high ranked drivers in each separate split. The rules clearly say, a faster car. If your in a Riley and driving the Grand Am, no one on track will have a faster car. They are faster drivers.

If your in a Mustang in Grand Am you are within the right to hold your line as the Riley is clearly a faster car and they can go around easy.

I see why the rules are how they are as if a very fast driver get hits and have to do repairs to his car he would have to gain on a slower driver pretty fast when his back on track and I just don't see why he wouldn't be able to un-lap himself.
And iRacing had to make the rules work for the sim, and not always the drivers and they hope the drivers have enough common sense to do the right thing. If you follow any kind of real racing you know blue flag means move over your not racing the guys coming up behind you and they are a lap or more faster than you.. again move over or you get the black flag.

I dont think you laughed your ass off.

If you read the forum more frequently you would know that Left is a Left arm driver because he had his right arm amputated, so comparing your iRating to his would be like to try out run me.. Because I had my Left leg amputated. And I would belong in the paralympics man.

EDIT:
I would hobbled my way past you in the braking zone!!

Well perhaps you might remember a few races I was in with you? maybe not, I really don't care. I have never held anyone up that was lapping me, EVER. If a car wants by and he is faster he should have no problem doing so.

Perhaps if it is some whiny prim-a-donna that thinks everyone should get off the track and announces he wants to over take someone and he thinks he deserves to do so. Then I will take the liberty in making him earn it. Like I said, there are way to many drivers in this service that have no idea how to pass and you don't need to be the fastest driver to see that.

No, you are right. You are not a superstar. Two whole post and you try to stir up <S*it>, makes you nothing but your garden variety Troll!

I know my good man, but we aren't on track now, but on a forum and I read forum post and answer them. You never held me up when I lapped you on track so i was a bit surprised by the way you ride the blue flag rules in here.

And I totally agree with the "whiny prim-a-donna" part, I lost interest in Grand Am because it seems to have quite a few of them. Some in there think they are gods giving gift to the Grand Am series. And all they do is whine when they are out raced. I just wouldn't risk my SR or IR on learning them anything..

In reality cou can communicate with your opponent. In GT-series it is common to use the winker or headlight flasher, in open-wheel racing it is hand signals.

Just as a side note...

Why would I joke about that? You can play iRacing however you like. It is all good to me.
:)

edit...GFY means Good For You!
see you on the track!
:)

Funneh, I read Go F#¤k Yourself! SMS language isn't allowed on this forum, and I guess you see the reason here quite obvious. Not all of us are into make every word shorter and even easier to misunderstand.

Forums are so much fun, misunderstandings all the way through lots of threads and people are so sensitive sometimes and arguments are made out of thin air.

What's the story with weekly participation, I never raced the Skippy at Laguna and only have 3 weeks left until the end of season but needing 4 weeks of participation for the bonus, so do I get nothing or does it carry on till S4, and will I get it as soon as filled or at end of S4?

You gotta have at least 8 weeks of participation to get credits, or 4 weeks in the series that run for 6 weeks like the Indycar fixed.

It doesn't carry to the next season.

Damn, wasted my chance at 8 credits so.. :(

Yeah, I'm cheap so I always try to get 10 dollars every season.

Already got 8 weeks in the Star Mazda series, which I'm leading Div 3 for now BTW, and I need two more weeks in the HPD series.

I will be the same way, I only have 8 weeks in the Skippy, and I need to preserve my SR as I'm at 2.94 ATM, tried a few TT's and failed miserably.. :dopey:

Still have 3 weeks to try anyway so maybe a few qualifying sessions at Okayama in the MX-5 and I'll be safe to drive again

haha no worries! I was too lazy at that time to say, "your methodology of deciding to not use voicecomms in iRacing is interestng. I do not agree with your decision not to use voicecomms, but if that helps with your iRacing immersion then please continue to do so! This is a game and I will support you if you find your enjoyment increases with your choice."
GFI! Go For It!
