Honestly, I don't have a clue. Just gonna run it and pit when I need to pit. If I even make it that long. Driving near other protos is sketchy sometimes, at least in practice.

This +1 :)

Frankly, I'll be happy if I manage to get the Corvette home in one piece!

Does anyone know if the HPDs usually run full fuel loads? I ran the Belgian GP a few months back and the F1 is so much faster per lap on a lighter load that it makes up for it in the long term.

A few seasons ago the car was only about 1 second slower with a full fuel load. How it is now... haven't got a clue. The car has evolved so much from the initial build.

Does anyone know what a decent qualifying lap is? I'm down to a 1:09.890. With consistent 1:10.0's every time I head out on qualifying fuel loads.

Currently pole is a 1:07.7, so your laptime would put you in the 2nd or 3rd split. To reach the top split you`ll need a 1:08.9 or so atm. You can see this from the stats tab under the series info to the left on the member page. Uh, a bit hard to explain. When you hit race, you`ll see Petit Le Mans info window to the left, under that there is "stats". There choose qualifying results.

Yaay, Just got promoted to Class D. I also got my 3rd Road Win today (4th Overall)

I also just looked at my new MPR for Class D and it says I have already completed it all (?) so does this mean on promotion day I get promoted yet again or if I get over 4.0 SR or is it just a fault?

Thanks for the information. I still can't get used to the light steering when driving at speed and straight. This is all pretty confusing to me and might go back to my old settings.

I do know my old profiler was 100% on everything, 200 degrees of rotation and first box checked. It was a very tight steering feel which made me actually feel like the car was into the track not on top of it at times. I tried 100/0/100 like iracing thread about FFB was saying, limited to 360 degrees, same issue. Something is missing and I really don't know where it seems.

Now I know I asked this but that first question in the iracing wheel setup doesn't explain things well at all. It says turn one full to one side then to ther other and back to center, before I could only turn about 90 degrees either way before FFB really limited me (assuming because of rotation). I really never had issues it seemed with being able to control the car in any race so far but I think it kept me from overcorrecting because of being so "stiff" or limited.

Try resetting the logitech profiler to see if that will open up your wheel to the full 900° then manually set the iracing slider to 900° before you do the left/right/center setup.

If the wheel doesn't feel soild enough for you use the iracing sliders to increase the damper setting and maybe FFB as well.

I had the same thing happen yesterday. I started the day in class D, but after a few races I was promoted to C with a 3.45 (started my final D class race at 3.98) and the MPR for C was apparently fulfilled. Give it a few minutes and refresh the page and you will find that you still need to get the MPR in :(
The upside is that I can just wait until the next promotion (29th) and I'm in B (still need to run the C class MPR though). I don't have anything that can run a C class race right now and I'm waiting for the next line up to see what I will buy.
It's down to the Ford GT, Star Mazda or the Indy car (road tracks). The F1 will have to wait a little ;)

I wanted to run this so bad. But of course I get called into work at midnight, five hours before the race starts. I love endurance LeMans racing. :(

Yeah your right, I just did a race and it changed the MPR... I should easily pass it by the 29th though.

Anybody got opinions on the Grand Am Series?

I think it looks interesting especially the Premier Grand Am Series. I did notice however that in the premier series it says GMT time but it doesn't say whether it is GMT -5 or whatever, can anyone help me out with the times?

People are mental in qualifying... I think next time all 3 classes should run separate qualifying splits..

Did I understand correctly, that during week 13 all classes from Rookie to B can fulfill MPR to get promoted for Season 4?

I was in a petit le mans practice last night and holy cow it was a huge bash fest, it was my first time running with the HPD guys, I wasn't ever hit by them because I always went off roading when I saw one

If I had to guess I'm probably 5-7 seconds off pace, I'm not running the race anyway, good luck to those who are, and the most common wrecks I saw were at the top of hills or just as you came around blindspots.

Yes, most races affect your SR. I think the Fun series don't though.

A lot of guys out there driving like crazies on the HPD, we need to watch out for them, some will try the stupidest moves on the GT cars! Passing on the esses, dive bombing from 1.5 seconds behind and passing on the outside of T1! Hopefully they'll have all wrecked by the time the leaders start to lap the GT traffic!
Survival mode guys! See you on track!

A problem I ran across when slowing down to stay behind a GT for a couple turns, was that the HPD behind me would slam me instead.

Yeah Im still up in the air about joining this race. Havent had a good practice session yet. I really want to run in it, but I feel its gonna end in a disaster. Alot of people who shouldnt be driving the hpd. I can pretty much deal with everything but the passing in the esses. There just isnt any where to go to get out of the hpd way. You cant slow down to make 2 lanes because theyll run you over, so the only option is to go off track which is a pretty 🤬 option.

This is why I want the Jetta.. Never any HPDs, front-wheel-drive (I'm pretty talented in FF) and lots of nice tracks. Oh, and did I mention; never any HPDs?

Yeah...I got a 4x out of that. One of those moments where the sim has slipped past its ability to judge contact correctly, I received no damage.

I've never been run into in qualifying, ever. That changed today.. people were nuts. I even moved over on the back stretch on my out lap only to be slammed by another Corvette while an HPD flew by me on the grass at 180 mph.. Crazy. My goal is just to finish the race today (Running the Vette, not going to be able to handle the finicky Ford GT for 2.5 hours) and not get run over by anyone, but really thats out of my control.

Yeah, that's why I stopped racing the HPD a long time ago. Too many idiots out there that will take you, the GT car and themselves out with stupid untalented desperate moves like that!

One thing to have in mind for the GT drivers here, we might need a splash of fuel to finish the race. So keep in mind that the time it takes to change tires is the same time it takes to put 10 gallons in, so do the math if it comes down to that, always good to have fresh tires!

Yeah, that's something I hate from the Proto/GT series. Some morons just can't figure out a suitable gap between them and a GT car to get a clean lap in, they can't even figure out that as soon as they catch a GT car in a corner their lap is ruined and there's no point in ruining someone else's lap!
That's why I qualied on Thursday! It was just me a Ford GT and an HPD, we never saw each other the whole session!

I really like the way the Vette drives, much more stable than the Ford GT. The brakes can be scary at times, but I think I have them figured out. Good luck today everyone.

For my class D MPR, must the time trials be in the class D oval series? AKA- do I have to buy a car to complete it?

Time Trials must be completed at your license level, yes. It says so in the sporting code. (Yes, I read it. Once I realized how much I like iRacing, yeah, I knew I had to learn the rules.)

So, I guess I'm qualified 82nd currently just before the final qualifying session. So, I bet I will lose a few more positions. I'm just looking to finish the race. Going to be tons of attrition, and I think if you miss all the crashes, you will finish in the top 10 easily.

I bet no GT's finish with the way some of these HPD guys are driving. Absolutely crazy stuff. I've run the Ford GT for a whole season so, I know what they are going through and often give them some breathing room lol.

I'm not confident enough in the HPD to be a total asshole with those kinds of passes. :)

Though I did sneak by a Corvette in the esses in that video above, there was enough room.

Qualified like 101st. Registration is now open!
