Cadillac + Motegi East = absolute blast!!
There should be more races arround small tracks like this one!! 20 laps with 1/2/3/4 .3 of a second from each other!!

Got it:

:)

There was this French guy in second giving me a really hard time during the weekend though.

I was a few points ahead of him on Friday night, then on Saturday night I checked the scores and he'd passed me by one point. I called a friend to race with me so I could get a higher SOF, got second place I think and passed the French dude by 9 points.

On Sunday when I go check the scores again he did two more races and managed to get ahead of me by 6 points! So I decide to have one last race to try to get ahead of him one more time. Luckly I got a pretty strong SOF, above 3k, and managed to get 3rd place. Scored 175 points and passed the guy again. Then I think he gave up.

It was pretty fun though, I want to send him a message to congratulate him and tell him the trouble put me through. :)

Well done. There are plenty of fast guys in division 3. 👍

Week 13 oval survival guide:
Start from the pit and make sure you remember to uncheck the fuel and tires boxes - you will be pitting at some point (19th place)
Let all drivers lap you before heading out so laps 1 and 2 are completely out of the way by the time you catch the pack - dodging skills are essential (13th place)
Do not engage anyone until at least lap 9-10 or so (8th place)
Let pushy buggers by and pass them back when they push on someone else and takes them both out (6th place)
Be careful, and coast home over the last few laps and you'll be in the top 5 with a + SR. Sometimes on the lead lap ;)

I had to devise a plan - I ran 2 races at South Boston and lost 11 SR points. One nimrod even hit me 3 times before the pace car left the track. I ran 4 more and finished top 5 twice with only 3 incident points total - two Zeros! I really want to get out of rookie so I'm stuck trying to get any SR points I can this week :nervous:
I never thought I'd even run 1 oval race, but they are pretty cool once you get into it.
Charlotte will come in handy to get some easier points 👍

My week 13:

-Buy all Jetta tracks
-Learn all Jetta tracks
-Make video of replays of me learning all tracks (and failing)
-spin my dad's car, (in real life)

Thanks. There sure are, it was a very fun season.

By the way, I think I should go up to Division 2 now. This battle with the French guy during the weekend made my iRating go above 3k for the first time. Not sure how the divisions thing works though.

Edit: And on week 13 I'm only planning on doing some oval races with the IndyCar at Motegi, hope it gets a good participation.

Congratulations.

On a different note, I just bought the Riley DP to test ready for next years Premier Grand Am Series. All that is left now is to buy the 8 remaining tracks.

Anybody got some DP lap times at Laguna Seca or Lime Rock, let me know.

My qualify time this season at Laguna was 1:18.9 but I can promise a better time next time around. Had all my laps compromised in that qualify session ;) I seen people post low 1:16 times.

I wont even bother to try go that low, because that much practice and I see my girl friend walk out the door. But I wish you good luck ;)

I haven't really tried it on Lime Rock, but I think you need to go under 45s ;)

My PB for Limerock is a 45.7xx, World record is a 44.423. World record for Laguna is a 1:15.705

But you have to be able to run that pace for almost an hour though, just because someone qualifies good doesn't mean they'll dominate the race right? In other news, a certain person with a Steve McQueen avatar just got word of his early Christmas present, and it has Skip and Barber in it ;)

Considering geography, does Mosport have something to do with it? ;)

Oh those Aliens can definitely hold that pace all race long! In fact, my optimum lap time is their race pace! Lol!

Ditto, although their race, and quali pace is often considerably quicker than my optimum lap :(

The used G25 an iRacing friend of mine gave me just arrived yesterday! :D

Just tried a few laps with the SM at Watkins last night, it's working pretty well. He sent it to me with the nixim mod already installed, man that thing makes the brake pedal really stiff.

I'm used to do right-foot braking and I just couldn't press the pedal with my heel resting on the base, I had to lift it off. This makes it a hassle to use the right foot both for gas and brake so I'm trying to learn left-foot braking now (it was about time), but even with my left foot I have to lift my heel off the base to be able to press it correctly.

Because of this the pedal base can't be loose on the floor, it has to be fixed or it slides when I press the brake. Also, the G25 is much more complicated to assemble compared to the MOMO wheel, more cables and the connectors are located below the wheel as opposed to behind the wheel like the MOMO, so I can see it will be a pain in the ass to assemble it every time I'll play.

For these reasons I'm buying this thing:

I know, it's ugly. But it's very sturdy and easy to fold. Some iRacing friends use it, including the one who gave me the wheel, and they say it's pretty good.

But overall I'm pretty happy with it, I could already notice how much "smoother" the input of the G25 wheel and pedals are compared with the MOMO's.

This will also improve your laptimes. Have fun with it 👍

Hey guys, just wondering.

A couple of days ago, i checked my MPR and it says that I needed one more official race/time trial to be eligible for a promotion (Road). I just did a race last night with the SRF (Won the race :)) and i checked the MPR a day later and it still says the same. What gives?

By the way, I'm only at Class D going on C.

You need to complete 1 more D license level race, unfourtunately all official races on Week 13 are Rookie licensed so you won't be promoted to C this season.

Ahh... thanks Jav. I was made to believe it was all-class. Oh well, i guess ill just for fast tracking :)

Having just read about Live's new pedal set with the Nixim mod, and my G27 brake pedal starting to stick last night.... I thought I'd ask the GTP iRacing community if anyone uses one of the load cell brake mods out there ? If so what brand, how long have you been using them, or any other issues ?
Maybe for the Nixim (or similar) users do you find the pots last longer now ?
Not sure what road to go down, all your advice would be appreciated.

One of our drivers in my league (Continental Endurance Sports Car Series) is saying that he's going to start a sister series in 2013. It will be a Rolex style series, ran the same way as our Continental series. I know there has been interest here in joining CESCS, but it is full. Whenever this gets off the ground and registration opens I will let you guys know.

Thank you sir! I'll be looking forward to that!

I'm sure it will NOT be for the faint of heart. Anyone who wants to do it needs to bring their A-game and nothing less. Sounds like it'll be the DP and the Caddy, Ford GT, or McLaren. I think the Caddy is really the only one that's close to the right specs. I've always heard that the McLaren will be faster than the Ford.

Unless we do DP/McLaren, I'll probably be in a DP.

Darn, Masi. Tough luck. I am about to get into Class C, because I did four quick Jetta TTs in week 12, the very second I got my Class D.

Also, that sounds interesting, Eric. I'll keep my eyes and ears (as a figure of speech) open.

Eric that sounds like a great league. Depending on timing I would be very interested in driving the DP or the McLaren. You have any more info on it yet? Or perhaps a link? Thanks!

Can't give you an opinion on the Nixim yet, and I don't know much about load cells either, but if your potmeters stopped working properly there's an interesting mod that seems to solve that issue.

I've been looking into it because my friend who gave me the G25 said both the brake and clutch pedals were oscillating a bit when holding them at mid-course, and cleaning and spraying the pots only corrects that issue for a few months. But I haven't decided if I'm going to try that mod or not, from what I've tested the oscillation isn't hurting my times. And the problem is mostly on the clutch pedal anyway, the brake oscillation is very minor.

I'm interested on a GT ride!

There's quite honestly no more information to give except that there will be a Rolex sister series next year, with whichever GT car seems to be the best fit. For an idea of rules and how everything SHOULD work, check out the rules and stuff at: http://contienduranceseries.wix.com/cescs .

Russell is the one running it, and said he wants to start sign ups in November. I'm expecting the start to coincide with the Continental Series Season 3, which will be the week before or the week after the Daytona 24hr race. Our Rolex series will be on saturdays, every other week, alternating weeks with the Continental series race, at the same track.

I'd also expect us to lose some Continental series drivers who may only run the Rolex full-time, so it wouldn't hurt to get on the Season 3 waiting list for that in case you want to run the Mustang or MX5.

We (49 Motorsports) might also be looking for drivers in the Rolex series. Currently we have three in the Mustang and two in the MX5.

Hey guys, just a simple question; when you are trying to see your own paints (.tga files,) do you simply add the file to the iRacing folder on your desktop (with the start race buttons, etc?)
