I can tell you before hand. It does not end :)

Haha, yeah thats right you get the heads up on it.

Man im itching to do a GT race but i need more practice to make sure i dont wreck anyone. Im getting 41s with the vette right now, but i know it can do better once i get more familiar with it and find a good tune. The GT series seems full of people right now, maybe it has some to do with the Mclaren? lol

Team Falcon, best setups arround!

I just watched a GT Challenge race, and man I'm glad I wasn't in it. New car bring the elite of wreckers to the track..

And all those angry, insulting and childish comments.. I love the car, but what's up with the people, joining a race and can't even control the easiest car to control on the service..

I'm giving that car some weeks before I dare race it :p

Thats what im afraid of, i saw a few bonehead guys in the Mclaren during practice who didnt know what throttle control was. Even though im stable in practice, i havent run in a pack yet so i wouldnt dare jump into race and possibly ruin someone else's.

Finished mine and my friends paint jobs for next season. I'll probably look into sharpening it up a bit. What do you guys think?

I know, I was kidding, at the december solstice the mayans just welcome a new calendar, it was all because some "psychic" said it would end because she failed in 2003, and many mayans are supposedly really confused at westerners right now

Anyway, nice paints:tup:

I placed 3rd in a legends race (started 2nd but I was the slowest qualifying time)

I've been in two races this afternoon, and both have been perfectly excellent. Polite, sensible driving from all classes, slower cars making way, no silly business into turn one. It's the best driving I've seen in some time, to be honest.

I don't think this series is any more likely to be a crashfest than any other. Probably less likely, because 90+% of the people will at least have spent some time driving during the week just to try the car out.

They'll disappear eventually. But this is why I said it should have been a Class B car.

I also saw the race at it was unbelievable with the amount of crashes and stuff so I will probably think about giving it a few weeks before I hop into a race.

Ah well, Grand Am and IndyCar while I wait :)

*EDIT* For anybody that missed this years PROC on iRacing it is now available to watch in iRacing Live although they have named it wrong as it is says it is the race from 2011 but it isn't.

Just finished my first race in the McLaren. Decided to start from the pits just to make sure I finished. So I was starting in last or 15th in class. Was running extremely quick lap times and was able to move from 15th to finish 5th. 5th was about as good as it was going to get though. Everyone in front of me was a tenth or two quicker. I guess my race pace is much better than quali pace.

nice run! I hope to run in the GT Challenge this weekend and will also start in the pit. I am such a slow pilot that the only way I will likely get into the top 10 at the finish is if the pilots in front of me crash out!

Well, I would say now is the time to get into racing the McLaren because of the "new car smell." Participation is ridiculous, races are splitting 3 or 4 times each with ~25 McLarens in them. So pretty much with this much participation, if you can keep out of the lap one and two wrecks and settle in, you are almost guaranteed to find someone to race with. I'm one of the slow guys too, and I had some great battles in the race I just ran, ended up going from 19th (in-class) to 6th.

Just keep a nice steady pace and don't try to push yourself too hard and you will find yourself gaining positions and in some great battles.

I gave the McLaren a run yesterday in a practice session at Daytona. I really like it. Love the sound of it. I need some more time with the car to give it a fair judgement. I was just running iRacing's generic setups.

One thing I did notice about the McLaren is how well it brakes. Wow. With high friction pads on I was over braking with this car at the same threshold point as some other cars. I have the Nixim mod on my G25 pedals and may have to adjust my brake curve setting for this car.

And BMW going to be added to the roster? This is awesome! Wonder what we'll get? Regardless, this is great news.

I'm hoping we get multiple manufacturers running in the same class in the future. I love the spec racing and all and realize the issues with multiple manufacturers in the same class, but it would make for a very fun series. I'm sure theres leagues running like this right now, but I can't really make a set time every week with my schedule.

Steve Myers says we are getting multiple BMW's and we get to decide which is first. There is a poll up now. A GT3 BMW is winning by a large margin and will probably win by a lot. I'd say GT3 first, something to race with the Civic second, and a GT2 third.

Any links to said Pole? It would only make sense to go for the Z4 GT3 as it'll also be next year's GT-E/2 car!

Probably out of the equation but would anybody like to see a BMW to replace the Mustang in the Grand Am Series, possibly an M3 like Turner Motorsports?

Ouch, i ran my first GT race and just absolutely laid a turd on myself. I was doing ok the first 5 laps or so, but i get loose coming out of 2 and ice skated almost into the other portion of the track and got way behind. Then the mistakes came lol... lost a lot of SR and IR, felt like i had no business on the track. Jav whats the website to those vette tunes, i think i could use one.

Just lost a ton of iRating thanks to what I assume is a glitch. Decided to start the race in the pits. Upon exiting the pits I get a black flag for speeding in the pits. I was a bit confused because I used the pit speed limiter. Serve the penalty, come out of the pits and again, using the limiter and got a black flag for speeding in the pits. Must be some sort of glitch. I was well below the pit speed entering and exiting the pits as well.

Maybe one season after release, maybe, but for now it's kinda nice having 2 track options for the mustang each week:)

Not officially started by iRacing, but I'm sure they'll pay attention. It was started after Steve made his "pick between these three" comment.

Yeah I saw it, there's actually 2 polls now. Both strongly favoring the Z3 wich is a great thing, iRacing might be forced to finally drop the Spec racing mentality and give us options! I just hope they update the C6.R or at least give us the C7.R on 2013!

I downloaded the falcon c6r setups, and it made a huge difference, I actually made it out of mclaren territory!
But the first corner after pits is still a tricky one, once I start spinning, there is no stopping it there, in any setup, what's the trick? 3rd gear?

I was in a practice the other day and heard a guy say "slamming both pedals won't bring you out of a spin in this car, it must have ABS". I had never heard about just slamming the brake and throttle to pull you out of a spin, so I tried it in the skippy and it pulled me straight out of it and sent me right back down the track. It will just whip your car back to the direction you have the wheels facing when you slam on the brakes and throttle. it won't work with just doing the brakes alone.

Why in the world would slamming both pedals down keep you from spinning on around? Am I the last one to hear about this trick? I haven't lost complete control of a car since I started trying to do this, unless it was by over shooting a turn and hitting the wall. It even corrects the spin in the grass most of the time.

We had a talk about that months ago about brake gas deal and it is weird thing but has saved me from taken half field out after a mistake even if it caused me issues. I normally don't use it though as it isnt like trying to become a better driver with learning to correct mistakes.

Which track did this happen at ? Thanks for the heads up , one to look out for. :)
