It's funny how people want a proper endurance series then don't race it :p. Unless they're waiting until the weekend.. Which makes sense. I ran a Fixed in the Ford GT yesterday..

I just noticed I was seeing the February 1st races, being GMT and all. The Jan 31st races looked a lot better, 7 GTs in two of the races. Probably a series that will really need a hot split.

I bet Sunday will have a lot more cars, iRacing should've given the Open Proto/GT the time slot GT Challenge had last season. Races every day and every hour isn't always a good thing for participation, in fact is bad.

Finished 2nd in GT Challenge today. Really frustrating as I should have won but, slow Vette's kept holding me up in turns and not letting me catch the leader.

I got the same last night! Finished second but waaayyyy behind the leader, like 25 seconds, partly because of slow Vettes but i did have a nice fight for second for half of the race!

Yes, this. Has completely messed up my scheduling of races. I didn't mind the restriction of races to 2 or 3 days a week. I knew I could find an official race. Now, I'll have to try and change the times I race to find an official race.

My employer doesn't care about my iRacing career. In fact, they don't care that I have a life at all with only having 3 days off so far this year. Trying to fit iRacing in and around working almost everyday isn't easy. I'm determined to find a way though.

I still finished 1.9 seconds behind the leader but, I should've been able to fight against him.

Good to see more GTP'ers racing the GT Challenge series this season. I won't be racing it this week anymore because Spa is a 1x fest but I hope to see you guys on track during the season. 👍

I race the Grand AM series and the incidents are low for the most part. I could see the GT Challenge series with 3 different cars is it?, well getting tangled up somewhat? What size fields would you see at Spa? I'm thinking it is a large track and after the first 2 or 3 laps wouldn't it thin out and more so a clean race?

Yep, it thins out till about 10 minutes to go. Then you get into lapped traffic. I am slow off the C6R pace cars but still manage to finish well. Lots of fun in my opinion.

Sorry guys if this has been asked before but with new tradiing paint is it not possible to download and use paint schemes?

Yes you can still use custom paints like always that's what trading paints is for it's just now they download when you get in the race room. You no longer need to have all the schemes downloaded for each car just keep the new trading paints program running in the back ground and it will download the schemes when you get in the race room.

Just curious, is your name a mix for Micheal rutter and rossi? :)

So with the new TP will I get prompted to install new version when I open my existing one?
Will it delete all the old .tga files? Or will this require some effort on my end? Any help?

Yes if you try and open the old desktop program it will instruct you to download the new one. I think it sends you to the trading paints website directly to download the new program.

No it doesn't delete the paint files you have now, you would have to go in and do that on your own. You can setup the new program to delete paint files when the session is over though.

No what I mean is can I not use paint schemes that others have created? You know the way with old software you downloaded it and changed the id number to yours.

Yes mix of both! I'm motorcycle man and these two guys are my favourites! Knowing Michael Rutter must mean your fan too?

I still might not be understanding you right, but yes you can still use paints that other people created. You just have to upload them to the website like you normally would. I always changed the .tga file to my number then uploaded them but from what I understand it does it for you automatically. The new program just downloads them once you get in the race session, but you still have to upload them on the website.

Yes I'm a big bike guy. Watched every single MotoGP, WSBK, and real road races like IOM and NW200 since 2005. I did trackdays for 2 years then was going to make the transition to racing but broke my hip badly at the last track day of the year and it took waaaay longer to heal than expected so put me out of work for quite a while so had to sell my bikes. I hope to be able to get back into trackdays and racing at some point.

I just had the best race in my iRacing career. Started P4 in class (McLaren) and used patience to gradually move up the order. By the 1st pit-stop I was in 3rd 2nd pitted and had to stop again for some reason. Passed him and pitted with 3 laps of fuel. A 44 second separated me from the lead. The leader pits and re-joins 0.3 seconds in front sit behind him for a few laps as he gradually pulls away. He hits the wall exciting the bus-stop avoiding a McLaren who was lapped, and I pass him, manage my fuel and win the class.

Gained .85 sr and 114 IR :D

Okay thanks, Think I'm understanding it now!

I'm from Northern Ireland and real road racing is massive over here. We have the NW200 and UGP along with smaller events. You've probably heard of the Dunlops from here? Josh Brooke's from AUS is doing the TT this year. You've probably heard of him. He big name in BSB series with a team from Northern Ireland. You need to come to IOM it's something else!

Well Mac, after seeing the second one and how he reacted I'd say he's just an idiot that can't take loosing. First one you did nothing wrong, you got by before the braking zone took and protected your line. Judging by what he did on the second I'd say go back to the first tap and he was trying to spin you arround as soon as you got by, he tries again and backfires on him, one car gets by and he rage quits!
He's a moron, nothing else to look for or blame. Plain and simple he is wreckless and a hazard out there, so please do us all a favor and report him! Maybe he'll get away with it, but maybe he already has a history on the system and will at least get reprimended.

His response.

hello sir. Im so sorry about that. I take all the blame. I was being a pussy when i got all frustrated cause i pushed so hard and then people just keep gaining on me. So my stupid brain just told me to crash into people(you) and quit.

Again, I am really sorry. It was very immature of me.

Submit it to iRacing protest. We don't need that behavior and he clearly admits to being a childish douche. He will do it again when he gets the whim and needs to learn its unacceptable! Video and message plain and simple.

What's up with the V8 participation? Been only 2 or 3 official races this week. Was hoping to get a big grid at 10:15 race as I seen 20 guys in a practice lobby and so far only 3 have registered for the race.

He owned up to his mistake, but like you said, we don't need behavior like that.. I was just in a race in the Grand Touring Cup at Daytona in the Solstice. The Solstice is much faster than the MX-5 so we fly by them on the straights. I just passed the lead Solstice and the next lap around before the start/finish, I'm approching an MX-5, I go to the right and the MX-5 stays on the left, using the slower MX-5 to my advantage I keep the other Solstice behind me. Next lap around, in the same place, same situation again, but this time he tries to go between us, so I move over to the left slightly to prevent an accident and he backs off and claims I blocked him.. there was no space at all for him to go "3 wide" so I figured I'd move over and prevent him from ruining all 3 of our races. Thoughts? I can post a video if need be. I also ordered the iRacing Paddock book the other day and it came in today, good read 👍

How do I make the camera move freely around in replay mode? I'm trying to look if the scheme lines up.

Hit CTRL+F12 to bring up the camera menu while watching the playback. Then you can use the x/y/z offsets and zoom to move the camera around. Pick the chase cam and move around it that way.

Good to see more GTP'ers racing the GT Challenge series this season. I won't be racing it this week anymore because Spa is a 1x fest but I hope to see you guys on track during the season. 👍

I didn't get too many 1x's. I got 1 until 3 laps to go when I was trying to catch the leader and manged to keep myself to a total of 4 1x's to the finish loo. Spa is a serious problem that has never even been addressed. The normal line through a few corners cannot be taken because of the 1x penalties they have in place there.

I race the Grand AM series and the incidents are low for the most part. I could see the GT Challenge series with 3 different cars is it?, well getting tangled up somewhat? I've noticed that the incidents are pretty low in both series. GT challenge seems to have incidents with slow McLaren drivers mixing it with the fast Fords though.

This is my 3rd season in the Riley DP and I really like it, I don't think I can handle doing 2 different series at the same time. It's my old bones you see. :D One day though I want to race the Vette, I have had it since I joined iRacing and I hotlap it quite a bit.

I know that's not like racing. I also have the Ford GT and the new build is really good. If I get tired of the Grand AM I will move to the GT challenge.

I've had a few bumps with other McLarens. One turned into me when I was on the inside line of Rivage on lap 1. He spun sideways in front of me and slowed down the whole field. I got around him, no noticeable damage. In my most recent race I found myself giving the car I was trying to get past some 0x bumps as he'd get really slow in the middle of a turn. It seems like the car handles contact very well.
