Funny we all watched and still can't figure the issue that Darin seemed to have. You know maybe he was fast on certain parts of the track but where as the guy to move when he was being passed? Darin should have either waited for a mistake or just followed to pressure into one.

I might have said blocking in turn one if Darin didn't slow up so much way before.

Anyone here in the 3rd split?

Jav
Shinya was on that race.
I guess his issue is a bruised ego, simple as that.

LOL. It's crazy that from all that I watched of Darin and the few times I raced with him, I have never seen him that mad. He completely lost it in that race.

I look at the "rage quit" from a slightly different perspective, In the heat of the moment he was 🤬 and had he continued, the rest of the race would have been crap for him. It was probably a good thing he had the courtesy to stop and give it a break before he wrecked an innocent bystander on a "dumb" spin as he put it.

Wait, what do you mean? Lol. Funny thing is, Darin never complained over intercom the entire event. I think that I ended up finishing 4th in class or something. Can't even remember lol.

I am sitting on the plain to Hong Kong on my journey to India right now. Hopefully I'll have good enough internet to get on GTP while I am there but, good luck to all of you next week! Bring some good finishes home for GTP!

The ISR video is just the result of letting emotions get the better of you.
Must admit I'm not really impressed with his reactions, he should have taken his issues up with him via Pm or something, not via a very public youtube video.

I'm surprised it got all the way to putting that on the internet. Surely you'd think that someone else at ISR would tell him to calm down before he made a fool out of himself publically.

Still, I suppose everyone's human. We've all had one of those moments.

You assume there are more than basically those 2 guys running the show. I don't know behind the scenes but I'd say there might be a couple more technical guys I'd that.

Yup Darin was totally wrong here. He wanted to pass but couldn't on the straights. Didn't he even try on the bus stop? Pitiful really.

Well he made himself look like a 🤬.

You can't complain about someone holding a defensive line every single lap, hell I was doing that in the McLaren in GT Challenge last season and the guy behind me got frustrated but never started swearing at me, I don't think, either way he said it was a good race.

He really needs to watch some real life races, nobody seems to care then, it's part of racing. Also the need to rage quit after he spun twice, now come on, how old is he, 3?

Just had another really good race which makes me appreciate the mentality of most people in iRacing.

A driver, obviously someone who had just bought a subscription, kept being lapped and never held people up or never weaved to annoy people. He acted maturely and pulled to the side each time. He was really courteous.

Not a good race in terms of wrecks though. The MX-5 races can get really dangerous for your SR when there's a mixture of skill levels. Luckily I was only involved in one incident where the racer I talked about above spun out on the last turn and took out 2 drivers, causing me to swerve to avoid which made someone rear-end me. He unfortunately damaged his car beyond repair and left the race.

What a baby. Like Erik said, the guy blocked him MAYBE once (if so it was very minor). The looked like good defensive driving. If Darren was actually the faster of the two he would have been on his bumper at the beginning of the oval section and would have been able to get by him.

That's always my favourite. "I'm faster than you let me by!" No, if you were faster than me you would already be past me ;)

So I can get a road promotion now! Should I buy any tracks or cars to make the most of it? Bearing in mind it's from rookie to D I think.

Last season at a Suzuka Grand AM race I held onto 4th position for a good portion of the race, this guy was acting just like Darin was. I gave him room each lap to pass but he wasn't faster then me.

After about lap 8 or 9 he took me out on the slow hairpin, nailed my rear quarter panel and spun me out. It took me about 5 laps to catch up to him, right at the hairpin. What's the old saying? Oh ya, "turnabout is fair play" :D

So you turned him back around yourself ? Retaliation is not the answer !
Overtake him clean then send him a PM at the end of the race.

^^ 👍 x100
Or protest if you wish, just don't turn a race into a smashup event.

For the record some people deserve it.. I'm not a huge fan of retaliation though.

Its always possible to position yourself in such a way that it happens "on accident"....

Darin's response to this whole thing blowing up in his face:

Response from Darin on the InsideSim forums
"Thanks for all the comments guys.. Has me realizing that next time. I just spin him and go on my way.. No more gentleman racing from me.."

.... So I guess an apology to the #15 is looking unlikely!!
What a complete douche! Any respect I had left for this guy is now completely gone! Already unsubscribed from the show.

Wow, what an 🤬
So his angle is that if someone is in front of him, but just might happen to be slower in certain places he's all good with pulling a PITT manouvre to complete the pass?
Nice to see he's now becoming part of the problem 👎

No way... He must be off his nut... There is no way any normal person thinks the 15 car's actions were very bad.

And here I was thinking Darin was nicer than Shaun (or however he spells it) I'm quite embarrassed for him.

Darin has always whined a lot.. I've never raced him but I've raced Shaun a few times, Shaun is very nice and always races me clean.

He really needs to get out of sim racing right now and go straight to playing MW3! He'll be right at home with some of the characters in that game!

I was thinking I do that myself, but I wont miss the next thing he does. What a comedy show.
