Is there really such thing as a PERFECT lap anyways? I mean, there is always room for improvement..

I would say any lap that sets a world record could be considered a perfect lap. Until someone beats it that is then that's the new perfect lap. :)

Perfect lap, heck I just want to become quicker or learn better lines as I suck at reading corners.

I'm so 🤬 off that iRacing put that 🤬 idiotic reference car in! I'm never turning that 🤬 POS on again.

:ouch:

Even GT5 can implement a better ghost car? You know, one that actually goes invisible when you're near it? I'm so tired of seeing rollcages in my line of sight...

Ghost cars are bad for you anyway I reckon...Maybe I'm old fashioned but I like learning by figuring it out myself.

Also setting your timing box to your optimal lap gives you the same info as a ghost car anyway.

And it doesn't fill your entire sight lines. 👍

And, once you realize that it's on, what're you supposed to do? Run across the room, grab the mouse, and turn it off, all while still running a time trial? :dunce: :yuck: :grumpy:  :nervous: :ouch: :indiff:

I'm rather angry right now, that iRacing did that.

I turned that reference car on when I was letting a friend have a go, it did help him considering he was coming from a controller on GT5 to iRacing on a rig and wheel for the first time in his life.
My problem was when I went for my go I couldn't find where to turn it back off again  :dunce:

Unfortunately this season I'm out of free time to race official series so the only iRacing I'm doing is a league championship on Sunday nights with the McLaren. First race was last Sunday and it was pretty fun. The races are 50 minutes long and fuel is limited at 30% of the tank's capacity so we have to make at least 2 pit stops.

There are over 35 drivers participating including some of the best drivers from Club Brasil, like WCS's Hugo Luis, Mogar Filho and Fabio do Carmo. My goal amongst those aliens is to try top 10 results, but mainly to have fun. Got a 7th place at the first round, having started in 9th.

I'll post the video of the race here in case anyone's interested in watching. Commentaries are in Portuguese, so you won't understand much I'm afraid, but it's good racing nonetheless.

The flying Jav. I have no idea how you run a 1:12.1 in the Gen 6 at Watkins Glen but I congratulate you sir. I want to run 4 different series this weekend. National Series @ Las Vegas, NASCAR iRacing Series @ Watkins, Grand-Am @ Road America, and Global Challenge @ Summit Point. I'm going to need some help.

Anybody have any basic setup guides for a G27? My friend just got one and was really not enjoying how his steering wheel was feeling on iRacing.

http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/2023748.page It looks more difficult than it really is. It really improved the feel of the g27 when I was still using one.

I didn't do the procedure to see what to set ffb at though. That is a bit more involved.

 I only just recently started messing with the profiler because 200 degree steering in the lotus was really twitchy :P

Thanks mate! My friend said thanks as well.

After looking at this myself. I'm so happy that I purchased Fanatec and have stuck with them. Looks like a major Pain getting the G27 setup correctly.

It really does look more confusing than it is. You just download the wheel check, run it, the # needed is on the bottom of the page and then turn on linear mode in iracing and move the slider to the correct #. That's it to set the wheel up. Its the ffb procedure that gets involved and I haven't tried the atlas software.

Hopefully we'll have some grip now :)

Tell me about it... The FW31 was a pain in the ass and frankly unsafe to race at Indy and now on pretty much one of the easiest road tracks on the calender, Watkins Glen, it is sliding constantly through the eases on pretty much the most understeery setup I have created but still nothing.

Hopefully I'll be back to top split madness next week with hopefully a bit more grip...

Great battle and I win by 0.009

Whoa!! Some awesome action there! He seemed a little unaware of the situation in a couple of occations, almost inviting you to dive in for the kill very well driven!
