Awesome battle

Anybody seen the RUF pic on Facebook? Is it just me or does it look a little squished? Like a shortened wheelbase?

Tony Gardner just verified that we are getting 3 variations of the Ruf for $11.95

AWD (assuming full power)
RWD (also assuming full power)
Cup (assuming a little less weight and reduction in power and RWD)

This is great news! But I'm looking forward most to the AWD, so I'm hoping for an official series with the AWD.

When is this coming out? I know "soon" but when's soon?

Also, some look like they are dumped on their nuts while others look like they are at regular height.

There are three different versions of the car, I'm sure ride height varies between the versions.

As to when.....I'm hoping for season 4, but as usual they aren't saying. They said they are "finalizing the physics" but who knows how long that takes.

But one thing I personally think is awesome is that iRacing has finally committed to a "fictional" car with the RUF RT12R Cup.

I know some of the iRacing purists don't want any "fictional" cars but that would allow us to do so many cool multi-car single class races. Being able to adjust the power, weight, and aero properties of cars as well as many other things is something I would love to see.

The pictures are of the Cup car, the slammed car was just the result of a crazy setup, all was clarified by the staff in the forums...

Any news on the Bimmers or HSV? I'm patiently, but not patiently, waiting for those cars to come out.

I haven't seen any news about it, but the Honda HSV 010 and the BTCC honda was the first thing to get anounced after the RUF so hopefully we see them soon. Can't wait ;)

I hope so too, but I fear those cars will be pushed back for the Bimmers, which I'm fine with as long as every car we get goes into an existing class!

Chances are the HSV will come out just as it is being withdrawn from real life GT500 and being replaced by the new NSX and then the forums will be full of people whining about it being 'outdated'...

Seems like this fake-ish track RUF is causing some mixed thoughts; what do you guys think?

I think it's a pretty good idea, since the car would probably last about a week before everyone was over it, if they raced the car on street tires.

I think that the people that think the car will be equal to the McLaren are nuts though. The pictures shown have been of the track version, and the aero on the car hasn't been messed with. Now, maybe it's just me, but I don't think that a RUF streetcar, however crazy it may be, would be able to keep up with a McLaren GT3 car. The RUF track is just a lower HP, maybe lighter version on slicks. If they poped a big 'ol wing on it and some fins on the front we may have ourselves a GT3 RUF on our hands, but I don't think that's what is happening.

The track version made me interested in the car though!!!

I really don't care, I'm happy actually! There would really not be much difference betwen a GT3 Cup car and a Ruf Cup car if it was built in reality to the same Specs.
Problem is coming from ignorance and narrow minded people over at iRacing.

The people that have a problem with the modified Ruf are the same ones that will argue with you that we aren't playing a video game. Ignore them.

I love it.

Starting to race the Skippy was one of the best decisions I've ever made! That is all.

I'm not sure that I want to race anything that doesn't have NTMv5 anymore. The skippy feels great (I didn't have it before v5) and the Street stock performs as I think it should (not that that means anything).

I haven't raced the skippy yet. I think that I'm going to give Suzuka a shot next week in the skippy. That strikes me to be a track that people will be driving themselves off. I'm not very fast but I do tend to be consistent.

Finally I am getting the hang of the NW at Waktins Glen, it's easy to overdrive into 1 or the bus stop if you are following a car. I picked up almost 2 seconds between races just driving it in a little deeper and finding my braking point for turn 1.

Now try the cup car.....

I will pass, I'm not really a fan of that car at all. I also know the power is way too much for me to handle and for some reason I prefer the lower cars anyway (I think they look better and drive better).

yes... the NW car is faster around the track (from what I've driven) than the Cup car because it has too much power and less grip.

Man its been a while since ive been here. Havent had much time for iracing because of work and now more schooling. Im currently 5 months away from being a level 1 technician for BMW so i gotta stay focused! Also i moved to Orlando, anyone down this way?

Anyway i do have a question about the Mustang, it doesnt seem all that different from before but ive noticed my lap times at Watkins are a half second slower now. Anyone else experiencing slower times with the stang or is it just me? Maybe i need more practice to get back to how i was? Not sure because they feel like solid laps.

Lake Mary here. Jav is down here as well. If you ever go to Sebring 12 hours or Daytona 24 hour be sure to post it.

Planning on working at fields?
