Anyone doing ISR's 120 Minutes of Thunder @ Watkins Glen this year? It's on August 31st using the Mclaren, Cadillac, and DP.

Yup. In the Caddy. Objective : Survive for 120 minutes , podium would be a bonus !

Yeah, I'll be in the DP. I just wanna see if I can last two hours straight in the Oculus Rift. I like the McLaren better, but I don't want to be in the slower class with the Rift yet, too much chance for me making a mistake not seeing a car coming from behind.

I will be in a DP, I just like that car so much more regardless of speed.

On a good note, the truck setup at Michigan is perfect. I love it!

Wish I could make it, I led my split from lap 2 till 15 minutes to go when a Caddy tried a stupid move on the outside of another Caddy and spun into my DP on the penultimate corner...

Yikes, i think we all have a horror story to tell from last year. I got ran over about half way through the race and i was top 5 at the time. It was still a lot of fun though, i love endurance racing. If i have the time im definitely doing it, although im not sure if it will be caddy or mclaren.

Will the Caddy be able to keep up with the Mclaren? I was practicing with it the other day in a hosted room and was faster than a few Mclarens.

I believe that in real life endurance races, they go in their seats. If you are going for realism...

Drivers release all such fluids through perspiration. So much so that bottles of water are necessary in car to keep them adequately hydrated.

I was wondering about that too. I think it may end up like 2 classes instead of 3. Fast Caddy guys will be up with the mid pack McLarens. Should be cool :)

It will always happen on random servers, but won't happen on your split if you quali.

True , didn't think of that. Although its not uncommon for all the Aussies to be put on the one server for big events. Thats good for minimising netcode issues but it's a tough gig for the low irating guys sometimes.

Grand am iracing at Montreal here tomorrow. 75 minutes with a pit stop necessary. It's going to be good

I'm gonna be doing the race with the Oculus Rift. Should be a good test to see how well I can do. I'm gonna be using the DP, even though I prefer the McLaren. But until I can get a audible blue flag warning (even something as simple as a quick beep) it's too difficult to use the slower cars since I can't see the blue flag on the screen.

Whew! Just got done with a Grand Am race and while Montreal is a tough track in this cars I have to say I have found love again for the DP, it felt awesome trough the whole race. Did not feel the nervous twitchy car I was used to on the DP, whatever they did on this build has brought out the fun, all out brute, tough bastard the DP was 2 years ago, of course a more refined better mannered than what it was back then but really really enjoyable in this track! I will definitely be driving it more this season.

I see you had 18 incidents in that race Javier. Were you having trouble with 1x's? Or interclass contact? Or a little of both?

Not really trouble with 1x's I had a spin on my own, got turned around by some guy in a McLaren laps down on his own class trying to race me in the DP, inherited a x4 + a 2x at the start thank's to a light tap going into 3 and a couple of x1 in turn 1. What really killed me was the other guy tapping me and spinning out at the start and my own spin.

Ok, thanks. It seems like in the practice I've done so far in the DP at Montreal (about 20 laps) that 1x's *shouldn't* be a big problem, but when I saw your incident count it got me a little concerned. Just sounds like typical multiclass stuff.

I figured Montreal might just be another Spa where even looking at a corner the wrong way gives you a 1x.

Not really, you can get away with a lot of curbing on the chicanes, the only spot I'd say is a bit sensitive is T1 the rest is extremely forgiving.

Jumped on the sim the other day to warm myself up for real life a bit. The changes in the new build felt quite good. Really should get back into iRacing and do at least a race or two a week. Sometimes I forget how good of a way it is to keep sharp.

Just did grand am at Montreal. Got DC before start.....again....

Was a lap down, then had to pit on my first lap because I messed up my fuel.

Somehow I managed 4th of 9.

Anyone else have this problem when they DC when griding? That's the only time it happens to me.

I've never had that issue. The only time I've been dropped was when I forgot to pause my media server and it started downloading a tv show during a race.
