So i was gonna run the C-Spec in the World Sports Car Series this season but i decided to pick up the Riley and man that car is amazing, very manageable and fun car to drive and i might as well help the DP numbers.

I miss the old Riley, the one you could drive with confidence and just manhandle around the track. I really hope they squeeze the V5 tires on to it tomorrow.
Next season I'll be doing a bit of GT3 racing with the McLaren and hopefully get my iRating back up to where it used to be a year ago.
What's everyone else plan for S1?

Still racing what I want depending on the week and car/track combo. I'll be doing some GT3 and "Porsche Cup" stuff, some good old Grand Touring Cup and Mustang Challenge because of its awesome schedule.

I've been racing the Caddy for the last 3 or 4 seasons so I'm looking forward to the addition of the new tyre and hopefully a boost in participation there. I'll also jump in the ruf C or track at the drop of a hat !
Road Warrior round 2 will be fun too. :D

I think NASCAR Class B and RUF Cup will be my S1 focus series'.

I am not a fan of that car, it has no feel. It need the new tire model in my opinion

Im fairly new to iRacing and i dont see that much of a difference between the cars that do have it and dont although i will say there is a huge difference with the caddy.

Depends which cars really. There are cars with V 4.0, V 4.5, and V 5.0. Cars with V 4.0 feel much different to V 4.5 and V 5.0. There are slight differences between V 4.5 and V 5.0 as many of V 5.0 features were tested in V 4.5.

This is the way I understand it based on what I've read on the iRacing forums.

The RUF Track has way better road feel and grip threshold. You can feel the tires gripping and you can feel them reach break away. The McLaren sorta feels numb and lack bite. The transition from traction to breakaway is far to smooth. Tires will fight till they break. Then it's gone.

That make sense?

Nothing huge in the build but, a lot of small upgrades that will take a huge part in the Sim getting better.

Extremely happy that the Track RUF got a proper Auto Blip transmission like most GT3 machines.

Can't wait for the awesome photos with the dirt build up on the cars. I assume that it does not only include dirt. And will include dirt, oil, and rubber. One can only hope though.

I was expecting more on the new build. Nice assortment of little things though.

Finally decided to buy the Ruf to be my auxiliary racing this season (will probably be my last season for a while.)

Have a choice of 3 series to run the RUF in.

Now just gotta find a good trading paints skin to use for it.

I'm thinking Brumos, or Rum Bum.

Was I in this race with you?

Friday night. I had a guy racing in the room that was on his last point and your post describes exactly what was going on.

When you/he made mention of it during the race, I was like man now that's some serious pressure.

I didn't mention it during the race for fear someone would give me a love tap to gain a spot. I'm Chad Clark. Was in split 8 I think.

I'm extremely happy with the McLaren! Such a great car to drive now! Not as easy as the Ruf but definitely as fast, so much you can now do with that car, you really need to drive it to get the time out of it! Immediately dropped 2 seconds off of my best lap at Road Atlanta on the new tires and I can consistently get a lot closer to my optimum Deltas!

we just did our Monday night road race with Ruf track at Mid-Ohio with the chicane and a lot of people were complaining about slower downshifts and occasionally entering neutral

Yep, that has been happening. Alternatively the McLaren now handles like trash. Touch a curb? Instant spin.

I just got my hands on the D licence yesterday, and I'm very excited to race in the upcoming season. I'll be participating in the Ford Race Spec series, some of the Solstice/MX-5/Jetta TDI and Legends races, just need to buy 6 tracks every month to be able to participate in all events... :boggled: I bet I won't see any of you guys there, since I'm at the very beginning of iRacing journey and you're way up at the top. ;)

One question - when qualifying, what does the "Opt time" mean? I'm usually pretty close to it (between 0.5 and 1 second slower), so just wondering... Is it an average time of all participants or something else?

You probably will actually, I know a few people on here race the Spec Racer and I still like to race in Grand Touring Cup. :) I tried out the GT3 series last night, it's so much fun and really challenging, I narrowly missed out on the top split win.

I think that's more setup than anything else, I've been using the curbs around RA with no problem, was having a great race picking up the Rufs last night til my loadcell decided to go kaput!

iRacing website is still down for me for some reason... It keeps saying we need a pit stop. The page you are looking for is currently unavailable.
