When you choose Race Now on the members page, select the radio button next to Qualifying (it's abbreviated to Qual I believe) to see and register for the qualifying sessions.

How did your race go?

I finished 2nd in the top split. Stayed nice and calm throughout the entire race. Let a few feisty drivers by quite easily and ended up finishing in front of them after they became too aggressive. Similarly I kept the leader within 1.5 seconds so I knew I could catch up. Decided the win wasn't worth throwing away a solid 2nd place finish at the end of the race.

8pm was running for 3rd and guy kept pressing the pass on long straight. He was slower then me and didn't grasp how to work together and catch leaders. I kept pulling .7 on him from the 180 to the long straight only to be drafted by. Running up his rear to straight again. Pull time and get passed. Was like come on fella. Let me by on the straight after the sweeping 180. In the end right before white flag he forced a pass two turn before start finish and then came out into me causing him to spin.

10pm got out from the pack running fourth. Didn't have enough for 1-3rd as they was already grouped when I broke free. 5th place eventually caught me. Got by and I got a 5th. Was pleased with this race as I was after a zero incident clean race. Got it and a top 5.

Give them a spin for a couple hours in practice and see if you prefer one of them or the Mazda. :sly:

As long as work permits I'm in!!
We should probably choose a not so popular but still fun series to make sure we will all be on the same split.

I'd be down, W.S.C.S. or Proto/GT would be my suggestions. I may know a couple other GTPers that would be interested.

Proto gt may be more popular.

World sports car or whatever its called now almost Grantees us all to be same split.

Yes, but on the other hand it's not guaranteed that we'll be enough folks to make an official race. With participation in the Proto GT series being a bit higher, we're more certain of having an official race. Also the field rarely splits, only a couple of times a week.

I'd love to race with you guys but I ain't got any tracks or cars yet and I only been racing a few weeks still need more track time in this game

Just gave the ol Prototype a test drive around COTA since i dont own Silverstone and my god the baseline setup for the car is undriveable its stupid, back end immediately kicks out the moment you turn in. Quickly just grabbed a setup from the forums from road atlanta and wow this things feels soo much better than last season, no snap over/understeer and the rear half of the car doesnt feel like a trailer anymore. Definitely gonna drive this series full time alongside the GT3 series.

Try the SRF, usually very clean racing, and you already own the car. They try to set the schedule so that you can do 8 weeks, only buying 3 tracks.

Another point, you complained earlier about backmarkers spinning in front of you, and then you would collect them. After the race re-watch the incident, from different angles, and see if you could have done something different, this is the quickest way to learn accident avoidance.

Agreed, being able to see the accidents coming is the key to Iracing. Don't focus on the car in front of you, but instead the whole pack of cars in front of you. If you see a guy dive bombing on lap one or making crazy moves, avoid him. Let him pass, give em plenty of room, back off of them and don't try to pass them, youll pass them again while their in the fence somewhere.

I really like driving both the DP and whichever GT car it has been paired with over the years (C-Spec currently) but I can't find any races for it lately, everybody is doing GT3 when I want to race and the Sportscar and Proto/GT races are empty.

Proto participation isn't that bad for the moment. Had a 30 entrants race yesterday at 9pm GMT, while usually you only get decent grids during the weekend...

Man stupid Netcode hit took me out while fighting for 2nd on GT3 with the leader just ahead! Wasn't even close to touching the other car and it sent me flying!

Just did a GT3 race. I was slow, but not getting in anyone's way and whenever someone would come to pass who was faster I didn't put up a fight.

Then last lap in turn (6) the really first really tight right hander, the guy following me is pretty far behind. I take my normal turn in point then BAM. Got some quality wheel damage (What's a GT3 race without it?) and lost two spots. Thank goodness I kept my 2400 IR (2401 :P ) It is probably inflated too high, but I think I am done with GT3 for a bit. I have had 0 luck on my side in these races.

I was on that race, had a blast hanging on to the leaders and fighting to stay ahead. Held 4th for 12 laps till I got trigger happy with the throttle coming out of 5 and spun around, tried to come back up from 11th but the pace was much more quicker on this one and I couldn't do anything to catch back up...
All in all it was a great race for quite a bit and I'm happy because even though I don't have the result to show for it I had a blast and after the race we staid on the server and laughed it off, good times!

Yeah I saw you in there too! I'm just frustrated as heck because I'm usually pretty solid at Mosport, but just can not get it like I usually can. Came into that race off a 3rd in proto GT, and wasn't even planning on doing the race until the 9 p/GT race didn't go official.

Just kinda ticked me off that I knew he was going to do it in that turn (he had tried it for a few laps before) and I took a line that made it obvious as heck I was defending, but he just shot it in there. I was on the mic "thanks, knew I needed some wheel damage this race" then he came back with some angry remark and I went and said it was half my fault. To please him, but mostly because I knew it was coming and I broke the golden rule from rookies: let morons go.

But it's happened. Hopefully we make some progress on a GTP split time in a series here soon. Really looking forward to it!
