Anyone else running the DP at COTA full course? I'm down in the 2.04s so far. I think I can hit 2.02

I just bought Motegi for the oval league I race but I found that the road course is really fun in the C6R too!

Too bad it's not used that often in the official schedules. I really like the road course as well since its reappearence in GT5.
 
I Placed 8th in the NW Club league road series in the radical - fixed set (which is a really fun car btw, light on damage but fast and predictable) and next season sounds fun we are waiting on a full schedule but it's slowly growing and I've gotten a lot better. We decided on a fixed set because we have a few aliens in our league and it keeps the racing a little more competitive.
Since I ran most races, I was eligible to pick a track and motegi was one of my top 3 since I couldn't decide on 1 track, I left my top 3 up to the organizer to pick but there's a few tracks that very rarely get run and motegi is one so that's why I put in there.

New Daytona Prototype NOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

Also did my first gt3 race of this week and i still dont know just how competitive the fuel saving strategy is. I tried it and ran consistent 2.07s and only had .4 gal at the finish, although the split was super tough at 3200 SOF which im definitely not used to since im always in 2700 SOF races. I probably try the pit stop strategy for the next race and see how that ends up working out for me.

You know... It's cool and all that we are getting a new car, but DAMN that's an ugly car!! Sucks that Dallara never actually made the body kit they said they would this year...

I like it better than the older car, but it could look better lol
 
I'm hosting a fun race with the Mx-5 Cup @ Phillip Island, if anyone is interested. I'm just in the process of setting it up now.

Maybe I'm weird but, I think it is probably the third best looking Formula car being used right now. Behind the WS by Renault and Dallara F312. 2009-Present F1 cars look ghastly in my opinion. The road DW12 looks much better than the oval.

I think the DW12 looks better than all the F1 cars this season, but that's not saying much. They also sound better now too imo

Reminds me of when i did club races in Game Stock Car and some guys didnt know how powerful the P2P was and they would spin immediately on corner exit, it was pretty funny.

That is funny stuff. If it were a group of racers like us, we could use P2P and be fine, but half the idiots on there would use it halfway down the straight and bin themselves and the person they divebomb plus anyone else unlucky enough to be caught up in it.

With the DW12 coming out, I may need to make another LOOK OUT list with the help of the community here

It's going to be epic. I believe touring cars is the last discipline iRacing really needs. Fingers crossed for it being C class with a decent schedule. Something like:

Brands Hatch Indy
Suzuka East
Oran Park
Lime Rock
Zolder
Oulton Park International
Summit Point
Montreal
New Hampshire Road
Silverstone International
Donington National
Brands Hatch GP
 
If there is a touring car series I hope it doesn't go to Bloody COTA!
 
Anybody here enjoy COTA? The Grand Prix layout is my preferred one but I still hate all of them. It's dull to drive and look at.

I've not done a race on it but I doubt the racing is any good on it either.
 
It's hard to get it consistently right. pair that with a 10 deg rear wing I didnt know i was running and you've a pretty "fun race"!

It's not too bad to race on actually. You have to be quite patient, some of the corners are kind of, one line only. Overall it has grown on me since first trying it. Did a GT3 challenge race last night, was pretty fun but not as fun as a lot of other tracks.
 
I just love all the old style tracks to race on, from my experience the old tracks produce good racing, Watkins Glen is a favourite of mine.

I love COTA. Awesome challenge of a track. I do like the older style of tracks too though. DP at the Glen is my favorite car/track combo
 
My favorite car/track combo is the Mustang at Summit Point. Im not exactly sure what I like about it so much, but when its on the schedule I TRY to get in every race that runs.

I hate COTA but this week in GT3 im pretty fast, qualified in the top 15 in Div 2.

Mustang is a lot of fun. It's really underrated, and the D class usually means half the field can't keep it on the road, but at SoF times, it's so much fun
