This is from my latest race in the Prototype and GT Series, I thought it was a good example of why you should just brake the car after spinning:

To be honest, I think he was doing his best to try get out the way and off the racing line. If he was to break and stop then it could cause more trouble for the cars behind, to me this was an unfortunate accident. A split second slower and the car infront of you would've been able to miss the spinning car altogether.

Yes, he was trying to avoid us. That was my point.

If he had just hit the brakes both the driver in front and myself would be able to avoid him. Notice how he was on the right side of the track so we went to the left, but he saw us coming on the right side of the track so he went to the left too. I had time to go to the right again but there was nothing the driver in front of me could've done.

I believe the best way to behave in these situations is to brake the car and let the other drivers try to avoid you.
 
IT would have been better if he just braked. The normal line through that corner exit is along the outer edge so everyone would have been able to react if anything at all...


By keeping you car rolling you force the other people to try to pick which side is best and it usually always fails with crash.

If anything as the person behind do not try to slow down. Yesterday in my Daytona race i slowed to avoid a big wreck on the entry to the banking and I got plowed from behind and thrown on my roof on lap 5! of the 2.4 hour....

it is not a video. if you have every played any style of fps shooter you will understand the concept more. but what iracing offers you is the ability to rewatch a race. rewind, fast forward, SUPER SLOW MO. just like when you in the game.. you have to actually record it using a program most use fraps.
 
Always love your vids Marcus, great video editing. I didn't quite like the start though with the flashes, makes you in a feel like your having some fit or something.

Nice race, I hate lap 1 accidents, I had 2 on my first ever Skip week and I almost quit in rage.
 
Ok guys this is my first video ever, only 30 seconds long because I'm using the free trial version of Fraps. Battle for first at Suzuka on the fixed Proto/GT series, this battle went for 4 laps and it was this close the whole time till one HPD moron hit my right front passing on the wrong place:

cheers buddy. yeah the flashes were meant for other songs , quite match but didn't wanna create a stir coz it's from a game as well lol. so changed the song but kept the flashes:tup:

sniff!!! I really miss Infineon!!! I could hit a nice time there too and had good races there last season. To bad iRacing screwed us and didnt put it on schedule even though it was voted for :banghead:

That is one of the few tracks I've aced almost!!!!

Nice seeing ya again lapierre! I tried to match your time but failed epically! Maybe one of these nights you will slow down like 4s and let me follow you to catch a draft!!! :dopey:

I use a recording program called fraps to capture it. Then I import the video files into Sony Vegas Pro 10 to compress and render the video to upload it. đź‘Ť

Oh come on man, everyone knows you will not MATCH but BEAT my times hehe:sly: But thanks anyway, now I need to keep that pace all race long tomorrow!

Or you import the videos in Windows Live Movie Maker, which is free, easy, works well and even converts the video into a much much smaller file. FRAPS file go up to 1.5-2GB but then when compressed with Movie Maker, they go from 150-200MB depending on the lenght.

I have been running a little bit on the service again. I will have to come find you one of these days. I only have the basic content right now, but I am enjoying the Spec Racer Ford.
 
Set a 1'41.695 practicing at Barber earlier for the CESCS league race tomorrow.

 
My most recent Suzuka race in the Acura. Got off to a slow start but still finished 4th. Looking forward to running Mid Ohio đź‘Ť

 
Good race. That was a nice little side by side with you and the orange HPd. I jsut remmber that in GT5 it was very difficult to get side by side there. Its like the track was too narrow in GT5. Cool to see how good Suzuka is modeled here.
