3 or more cars must make contact in a crash resulting from contact; or adverse racing (weather) conditions in general, with or without an accident.

If all cars are still facing the correct direction and moving forward, this does not necessitate calling a caution. This would be considered incidental contact or a racing incident. But if it seems warranted based on the amount of contact that took place, call a caution. Calling a caution is the responsibility of the drivers involved. All cautions will be reviewed by the stewards. Calling an unwarranted or incorrect caution could result in either a penalty or a post-race disqualification.
To call a caution, you must type the letter "C" into the chat box.

Once the caution is thrown the overall race leader will gently slow down and all cars will group up behind. Any cars behind the incident may pass through. Cars rejoining the track must do so cautiously and blend back in with the field appropriately. After grouping up, all cars trapped between their class leader and the overall race leader (between them in the queue) are to take a wave-by at a specified time (called by actual IRS officials in chat and mic) and catch the back of the line without passing amongst themselves. Drivers that were "punted" on a road course will receive their position back under caution. After this is completed, the pits can be opened for everyone and the race can be restarted after any additional non-pit wave-bys are completed, with the classes separated at the restart by speed.

Upon exiting the pits, drivers will line up single file and prepare for the restart. The leader will initiate the restart in the restart zone. Do Not jump the start. Please respect the position in front of you. You cannot pass before you get to the start finish line. There will be no more cautions with 5 laps to go.
  • Caution speed: 80 Mph/129 Kph
  • Please signify whether you are pitting or not by moving to the white line on the inside of the racing surface.
  • No last-minute fake outs.
  • Pitting is not required.
  • All cars pit on the same lap, including lapped cars.
  • You do not have to have a teammate to participate in this race.
  • Just fill out the form and I will update.
  • No more than 3 drivers per team.

Is there any restrictions on what car number can be chosen by class?
That was more of an issue on Project Cars 2 than GT Sport, so I don't think it will be necessary. If we wanted to keep it like the real world race I would say yes, but I don't think I am going to make that mandatory.

Finally! Somebody makes the event I mentioned in the update forum (plus you added LMP2, nice job!). Now you just need to do some BoP, make the number plates for the different classes (can probably just link them from Discover in GTS), and apart from that you look all set :) !

Any plans to stream this?

I think I'll sign up! Need to test a couple cars first because I can't really decide. I am curious though, why no visible damage?
We usually leave visible damage off, because it keeps the car looking prestine and it is less load on the lobby.

I believe the appropriate number plates and class identifiers are already on the game, I will try and find them and link them to the OP. I will plan to stream the race from my POV, but I don't think there will be a dedicated commentator.

Cool, any streaming at all will be very nice (it could so interesting that it doesn't even need commentary. ;))

I've signed up in the Audi R18 in the LMP1 class driving for DW SimSports.

Question: The date in the thread title says the race is June 15th, while the OP states it is in July. Which is it?

It is June 15th, my bad. Copy/paste is a good thing as long as you check before you post it.

I signed up for LMP1 driving the Toyota.

It looks like you have enough entries for two lobbies. Is there any thought to running a second lobby? If so, will you balance the skill levels(in terms of lap times)?

It seems you are getting a lot of interest in this event. That's a good thing.👍

If we need a 2nd lobby, which right now looks like a pretty good possibilty, then I will likely move the class with the most entries to one lobby and keep the other 2 in the other lobby.

I will plan on sending out friend requests this evening, so keep an eye out.

Updated my entry for LMP1 with car selection.

@aceboy127 Will the bop update for all 3 classes as we approach closer to the race or is that BoP final?

There's a note placed under the specs which says the current BoP is a placeholder until the final BoP is complete.

I almost hate to suggest this but should there be an informal practice event. I can host one (or more than one). Just say the word.

I have no problem with others hosting practice lobbies. Just let everyone know when you open it.

So excited and I cant wait for this to happen!

Went ahead and signed up with the Corvette. I have no idea how it will do. Figured I would just represent the home team on this one.

Any livery rules? More specifically, paint chips.

So if I wanted to register for myself, fielding my own car, would I need to fill out both driver and team forms or would I just fill out one?

Livery rules are now in the OP.

If you want to run as Independent you can specify when you fill out the Driver Registration Form, then you will not need to fill out a Team Registration Form. If you want to run under your own team you can select the option on the Driver Registration Form, then you would need to fill out the Team Registration Form.
