Welcome to the home of IRS. We are a group of racers who like close competition and having fun racing. We will run multiple series from this group, including touring car racing, gt racing, endurance racing and open-wheel racing. We have previously raced on GT5 and GT6 as ARS, and have run many different series including IROC, NASCAR, Indy Lights, Super GT, and GT3 series. You can find more information about the ARS here. We like all motorsports from NASCAR to F1 and all stops in between. We are a laid back group, you can find us online most nights racing, practicing, talking about racing, and telling jokes. We try to run a fair and tight ship. We pride ourselves in helping each other with setup and driving tips. Everyone is welcome to join the group, veterans or beginners. We currently have events running Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm eastern, Monday night at 9 pm eastern, Friday night at 9 pm eastern, and Saturday night at 9 pm eastern.

    Common Rules and Regulations
    • Every driver is expected to adhere to the gtplanet forums code of conduct.
    • Public verbal attacks against any IRS member, whether thru the forums, in-game lobbies, or voice chats is strictly prohibited.
    • During races, use of the in-game chat for any reason besides communicating with race officials is strictly prohibited.
    • IRS reserves the right to punish any of its members should they exhibit disruptive, offensive behavior that ruins the experience of others.
    • Clean, fair racing is always expected from all drivers.
    • Contact between cars is permitted so long as contact does not result in another car going off track, damage to another car, or any outcome where contact is deemed excessive.
    • When defending track position, drivers are only allowed to make one move in defense. Excessive defending constitutes to illegal blocking.
    • Overtakes are expected to be done fairly and cleanly. Overtaking drivers are expected to use their better judgment to ascertain whether they have gained control of the racing line.
    • If contact is made that results in another car going off-track, the offending car is expected to surrender track position to the other car involved in the incident as soon as possible.
    • A car rejoining the track after going off-track must rejoin the track in a safe manner. Approaching cars will have the right of way over cars that are rejoining.
    • Heavily damaged cars are expected to stay off the racing line until they get back to the pits for repairs (for Heavy damage settings), or until the auto-repair completes (for Light damage settings). Cars coming around heavily damaged cars are expected to safely get around these cars.
    • Lapped cars are expected to give way to faster cars at the soonest possible opportunity and are not allowed to interfere with any on-track battles between faster cars. It is the responsibility of lapped cars to be aware of faster traffic coming through. Lapped cars deemed to have impeded faster traffic will be penalized.
    • Driving backwards on track is always strictly prohibited and results in an immediate disqualification and possible suspension from the series and/or the organization.
    • All cars are expected to be moving forward on track unless recovering from an incident.
    • Bump drafting is permitted on all tracks within reasonable circumstances.
    • Intentional or payback actions will be harshly penalized.
    • At least two tires must always be kept within track limits.
    • Generally, track limits are represented by either the white lines or the kerbs wherever present on track. However, these rules may be adjusted depending on the track and in doing so will be properly specified by the series organizer.
    • A car with two tires on the defined track limits is already considered having two tires off-track.
    • If a car gains an advantage by going over track limits, drivers are expected to reduce speed just enough to negate any potential advantage gained. Repeated instances of gaining an advantage by exceeding track limits results in a penalty.
    • Any overtake done by exceeding track limits is considered an illegal overtake and any offending are cars expected to immediately return the position(s) gained. The only exception to this rule is when the overtake is performed in avoidance of an accident that occurred ahead.
    • Crossing the white lines at pit entry and/or pit exit results in a penalty.
    • Causing a collision: 30s penalty
    • Illegal blocking: 10s penalty
    • Illegal overtake: 20s penalty
    • Unsafe rejoin on track: 15s penalty
    • Impeding faster traffic: 20s penalty
    • Gaining advantage by exceeding track limits: 15s penalty
    • Crossing Pit Entry line: 20s penalty
    • Crossing Pit Exit line: 20s penalty
    • Poor Driving Standards*
    • Unsportsmanlike Behavior*
Penalties for Poor Driving Standards and Unsportsmanlike Behavior will be at the discretion of IRS officials, and can range between a number of race suspensions or outright ban from the series and/or the organization.

Hey everyone. I would like to announce that the Superbug Championship run by @Antares26 will be run under the IRS banner. This will be the first of at least 3 series announcements coming before the end of 2017. Please all stay tuned to the thread for further updates. I cannot wait to see you all on track for 2018.

    Developement Series Announcement

Starting this year the IRS is going to be running a new program of sorts. We will be running developement series, which will be in a similar vein to our main series. We are planning to limit entries to new drivers to the IRS or GTP in general and plan to also allow inexperienced drivers into these series to gain more experience for the main series. We are also planning on adopting a driver ranking system, which will allow drivers to improve their ranking to be put into the main series or have drivers sent back to improve their ranking to be moved back up to the main series. I will likely go into more details later, but this is the just of it.

Lastly, we are planning some series announcements this week. I cannot wait to share with you all what we have in store for you this year and I hope to see you all on track soon.

    Thanks,
    Ace

Thread for the Superbug Championship will be relaunched in the coming week. Right now the series name itself is tentative now that it's officially running under IRS but the only thing I can confirm for the series right now is that it will still involve the Beetle Gr.3, the timeslot will be on Friday nights GMT, and that instead of the 90 minute races of the original concept, it will now be a multirace series consisting of two 30 minute races for each race weekend.

    International Racing Series Announcement
International Racing Series (IRS) has just announced they will be adopting the TCR regulations for two upcoming series in 2018. League owner Ace had this to say. “The IRS is very excited to be adopting the TCR regulations for two brand new series in 2018. I am very excited about the developments taking place within the group right now and cannot wait to see what will happen moving forward.” Those looking to find more information on the TCR class can look here.

Ace also confirmed that BoP for TCR would soon commence, “The plan for the TCR class and other classes moving forward will be to have a universal BoP, in which any IRS series that chooses to use a certain class like TCR can do so with little to no BoP testing needed.” This information should come as a relief for series organizers, who in the past had to do their own BoP testing.

In addition to having a universal BoP for the TCR class, Ace also confirmed base liveries are on the way. “We have decided to make it a bit easier for the teams competing in a certain class to acquire the needed logos and decals for series, by making a base livery. Base liveries will not be restricted on what you can add, but they will be a template of sorts for every team to start out with.” Ace stated base liveries will contain appropriate number plates for the class, appropriate decals for the series, manufacturer logos, and other potential important items.

Finally, when asked about the status of the development series, Ace had this to say. “I know the first series was not a success, but there are many factors to running a successful series. I know the day the development series was scheduled to take place was not ideal, but I know that can be adjusted depending on feedback from other drivers and teams. Other factors may have contributed here as well, but I can confirm we have a plan going forward on how to avoid that again.”

Now we couldn’t let Ace go without getting some further details on upcoming series. “I know a lot of the drivers and teams were wondering what could possibly be coming next, but I can confirm that they will have to wait a bit longer as an official reveal will be coming in the next couple weeks. I will however announce that we do have a new development series in the works and that will be the IRS Kart Series Season 1, further details on that will be released within a week or so.” There you have it everyone.

That will wrap things up here. With announcements about the TCR class, base liveries, development series, and Karting Series. This has been a big news day for the IRS. Thank you all for reading and have a wonderful day.

Curious as to why I'm grouped in crystal when I have over 40 starts in the former ARS League.

Or is crystal just counting the races that are run under the IRS banner and the other three tiers are counting all starts between the ARS League?

I'm also curious about the criteria for each rank.

I share the same questions. I believe that previous starts should carry over and drivers be ranked as such, especially since the ‘past series’ are in the OP. How can all of those people have wins and championships and all of a sudden are a rookie all over again?
