GT prologue was out in december 2007, in 3 years what they exactly did? Some tracks more? Codemasters in a year made 19 tracks in 19 different locations with a really stunning wheater system.
The worked just on photomode, 2ww trucks (how is possible to make premium an USELESS 2ww truck from volkswagen and to make not a veyron premium is just not understandable) one of the worst wheater system ever seen.

I am VERY VERY disappointed. And I have posted in this thread twice already but the more I play this game the more things I discover I don't like about it.

For me the biggest thing is the career mode. It's not fun at all. I remember playing GT4 and that thing took half your life to complete and part of the fun was how much of a grind it was.

B-Spec is just.... No words can substitute my extreme frustration at how utterly stupid it is. Why on EARTH make it another whole part of the game? Are you serious? The exact same events again, and not being able to speed it up? Where is the fun in that? And I have to sit through that boring **** to complete the game? You have got to be kidding.

Career mode again. It is SO easy. The AI in this game is horrible, slow, and braindead. I lost count how many times I have failed license tests and challenges because THEY RAM INTO ME and yet I get a fail. ********, utter ********.

Tell me again why I should try and get licenses? Because they are worthless and pointless and a simple watse of time with this arbitary and useless level system.
I remember before in the older games I used to do the same events again and again to get money to supe up my car more.
Nope, now I'm just grinding for nothing but "experience".

WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? I can't get over that.

I love the driving in this game and it's a great experience... When you're trying to set a lap record by yourself. And you don't have silly AI ramming you, getting in your way or driving like an old lady.

I am literally considering getting a refund.

Well you don't understand the point, do you?

Yes, the problems exist, at this point I'm almost sure PD know about them, but my point is than the people still complaining on circles using the same arguments/images, thats the problem, deal with it, if you feel than PD stole ypur life then just sell your copy and never buy another GT game but please stop trolling that hard, it just seems like Kaz had taken your virginity :sly:

No, it seems that you feel like the people complaining have taken your virgin.

People like to talk through things and sometimes it takes a long time. Who are you to decide when it is enough for them. People who paid for the game have a right to complain even if it is just so people on the fence can get all the facts.

I wonder if the fanboys realize they act like little communists telling people how they should feel, lol.

Honestly I really Dont see a GT6 in the future. KY has expressed that he wants to take a break and look into creating other games other than racing and with the general let down (not just here) on the internet, I dont think they have the time nore the cash to invest in a GT6. I just dont see it. I will tell you this though. It will need to be in the next 2 years or they will have to start from scratch with the next gen Playstation. In any case I see that if they do make a 6 they will have to hit it out of the park or they run a high risk of going under as a developer.

They have already started work on GT6.

the problem is not the complain, the problem is the same people complaining using the same berlinette pic for example, that is even more than a Fair complain, you know if I didn't like a movie I just said "I didn't like" but I'm not using a screenshot from that movie over and over again

I wonder if the fanboys realize they act like little communists telling people how they should feel, lol.

No, but I can tell you than happen the same situation when someone says "I like the game" and the complainers begin to repost that Berlinette Pic or crying because the Veyron is a Standard model

Some of these posts are just funny. People complining that it isn't finished because WE rushed them...hardly think so. The game isn't finished because they knew it could be fixed later through "updates". Face it, we know what patches are.
I guess Japanese have trouble making up their minds also. Why else would they make the menus so when you push the back button the cursor goes to the home icon, instead of actually going back. And installing parts, yes, buy it, yes use it, OH you went ahead and used it like I asked and now it is installed? OK, thanks. Way too much button pushing.
Your version of HDR sucks. Driving out of a tunnel is not the same as opening a door, we can see the light from a long way off and our eyes adjust.
3,2,1,START. We get it. I dont need the word START blocking my view while the car is moving.
How am I supposed to race in the beginner races when the cars that quailfy are nowhere to be found? Stupid.
Why can an AI car that is the same as mine completely smoke me down a straightaway? Stupid.
Night racing, HA! Might as well use a flashlight. In the real world I saw the racing version of the Accord has 6 headlights. Lame.
Prices are completely f'd up. In the game I paid 60k for a used Mazdaspeed6 and 44k for a racing Atenza. WTF? I got my real Mazdaspeed6 for 22,300 after discount and rebate.
Maybe you need some help from an AMERICAN

Well, perhpas they could've skipped the massive and useless Skyline line-up for once so they would have been able to add more Premium cars or improving other things. I, just as anyone else, can't grasp why the Veyron is a standard model regarding to it's ''exclusivity''. It really should have made into the Premium cars section, without a doubt.

Dinofly,

So you're disappointed. Name me a better game available on a console.

I haven't posted here for quite a few years but thought I'd come to see if anyone was disappointed with GT5 like me. :( And it looks like I'm not the only one. :banghead:

I can't believe after all that time that the game is so flawed. I don't think it unreasonable to expect better after so long. Graphics wise I don't think that this is an improvement graphically on GT Prologue, and indeed in some areas has gone backwards.

Yes, we weren't forced to buy it, but it is such a let down. Will I keep playing it? Yes. After spending money on the game, and the machine to play the game, then I'm going to try and get my money's worth, but whereas the previous games have kept me stuck to the machine for many many months, I don't think that this will get a fraction of my time. Will I enjoy it as much as the previous games? I don't think so, unless something amazing appears the more I play. :(

I wasn't expecting to be blown away (despite the hype), but I did want the features from all the previous games at least, and maybe an improvement on them. Just doing that may have made it the best racing game ever, as it is, I don't think it is, and after so long, I think it should have been. 👎

The Veyron one is a real head scratcher. They talked about how they some what future proofed the cars for future titles, but the Veyron was a new car for GTPSP, why didn't they future proof it for GT5? Makes no sense.

Been playing Gran Turismo since the PSONE. My GT5 gripes (in no particular order):

* Menus slow to navigate through, why-o-why does PD make us sit through endless loading screens to navigate back to our garage / change into the car to fit a certain race. I swear that half the playtime is spent forward and backtracking though menus. Gets very tedious and annoying.

* Tune shop music is bad and repetitive, buying and installing parts has always been a chore (even going back to GT1). There has to be a better solution.

* Still no way to effectively know if your car is over-prepped for a race. Why doesn't the AI scale up the competition to match the way that a car's performance is outfitted?

* Car exteriors barely customizable, AI cars should at least have some race accessories to make the game look / appear more authentic.

* Accumulate level points way too easily, should have to finish all beginner races before moving up / etc.

* License system - this makes no sense?

* NASCAR, why all of a sudden do we need Jeff Gordon's voice-over in the game? Plus, the character rending in that cutscene is awful.

* Graphics issues (some popup on screen, shadowing looks horrid)

Overall I am really disappointed. Yes it is a good game, but not 6 years good. PD should really be pushing the limit here for gameplay / re-playability. It seems to me that all they have spent their time doing is modeling the interior of a bunch of cars that nobody is going to look at anyway. :\

Not much makes sense if you look at the production of GT5, and this is gonna have an aftermath, even though the fanboys dont wanna know it.

There's a lot of turmoil around GT5, in any sense, it's 5 year production is an issue, but more that the game is gigantically flawed, it's outdated, not even as good as it's predecessor in terms of freedom and hugely overshadowed by it's current competition, let alone it's future competition.

They can say they started on GT6, to keep the fans hanging, I sincerely doubt if there will be one and if there will be one, expect it to be very different (and I mean different in it;s foundation) than what GT5 is.

Oh and stp the whole "GT5 got good reviews" Yes, ofcourse it did on all those Sony sites and magazines, the others were being generous not to cause a mass attack of fan boys! Don't you see by not being critical you're really killing the series? If you really really loved GT, than you should say this one is not what we wanted and for PD to make it right! Kaz never listened to it's fanbase and this proves it! There won't be any patches that will do a major overhaul on GT, the sales already plummeted and the investment is not worth it, face it.

Its the best driving to be had on a console. But as a videogame, I have to say that Forza 3 is a much better choice. From a game design standpoint for sure. How the hell do you put a 3 race series in the Extreme class for around 80,000 credits a race and put a bunch of $50,000 cars to race against?! It's ridiculous. There's so many bad game design choices in this game. Am I supposed to race the same damn race over and over again so that I can save up the ridiculous amount of money to buy a GT1 or an F1 car to complete their particular races? It will seriously take DAYS of racing the same highest paying race I can find to do so. Don't get wrong, I absolutely LOVE racing my decked out Scuderia around Monza, but they need to update this damn game in a major way and they need to do it FAST. This game has the potential to be the greatest racing sim ever, but as it stands, Forza 3 makes a fool of this game and you'd have to be a rabid PS fanboy and have never played Forza to disagree. Which I'm sure a Gran Turismo fansite is full of but whatever.

I have Forza 3 right here and the MS wheel and I disagree. Forza's tuning and customization is far better. Forza's menu's is far slicker. But the driving is much better in GT5. No weird sticky grass. No hidden traction control that makes spin out almost impossible.

Also I prefer the GT5 challenges. In Forza the race series were dull because you had that stupid replay button. If it's there it's impossible not to use it. In GT5 you curse and scream but you start again from the beginning and pray you get it right. It's so much more fun and rewarding.

I do not know why people keep saying GT5 was in development 5 years. After GT4 They did Tourist Trophy, GT5P, and GTPSP. How much time did they actually worked in GT5? 2 years? 3 years at most?

GT5 development started in late 2004, TT wasn't a big game at all, they only had to design the bikes, the physics were horrible. GT5P is GT5, GTPSP was developed in less than a year and it was a side project next to GT5.

I started out with Forza 2 as it came free with my Xbox and I was immediately hooked. I was like...damn Americans can make a good racing game when they get their act together. And there came Forza 3 - a gift from the racing gods. It did everything right that was in Forza 2 and just added more deliciousness to it. Honestly if the Xbox finally did support the G25 - I'd be all over that like white on rice.

Don't want to troll here, but I've opened my eyes and the only real gripe I have with Forza 3 is the artistic deviation with the Nurburgring (the track is altered substantially but still a fun track no less) and the weird super green grass that is a magnet to your car and traps you from cheating.

The disappointments with GT5? A grocery list good enough for Costco.

Don't get me wrong, GT5 is a good game, but not a great game in the same league as Forza, honestly.

o man prepare for a flaming from the Forza haters

Ah the truth is never very colorful in the eye of an ignorant.

The original poster is right, it's a very good game and does pretty much everything right.

I never said Forza sucked. I enjoyed it a lot and I still pop it in from time to time. It did a lot of things right, and some not so right, but it's still a great deal of FUN.

Fun is what I'm starting to miss in GT5

You never played Forza 2 or 3 have you?

We're not just being fanboys. I have the game, and played it a lot but it has driving aids that can't be turned off. It's made for gamepads.

Take a look at this post

Again, you may complain all you want about this and that with GT5 but it's still the best simulation on any console.

Mmm some miss communication here I guess.:nervous:
