Stopped using fuelly, but my last fill up came to 36mpg.

The little fuel mileage meter in my car currently reads ~38.8mpg.

My best yet has been 28.8 US MPG. Oddly, my mileage per month has gotten steadily better ever since November 2011. It hit a wall that month and dropped drastically but since then has done nothing but improve. Evolving driving technique? Odometer spinning faster than normal? Diameter of my tires changing? The only thing that really changed was the weather but it got colder at first, through January and February, then got warmer through July but has leveled off since. I can understand winter causing worse mileage, especially with the extra idle time to make heat, but that should have been in January or February, not November.

I haven't been impressed with my average on the Mazda2, but I've only been going by the trip computer. I really need to start using fuelly and see what I get. I calculated it manually on a long drive once and it came out to around 37MPG, which is right in the range of what I want to see, even though the TC said something more like 33.

Slight case of leadpoisoning on your left foot, eh?

hehe yea you could say that.. when i rarely take trips i get like 22-23 so thats great i can live with that but for the last few months its been a garage queen then bringing it out for autoX /drag strip only so its skewed a bit low

Rather impressed with the new Escape. Filled up this morning and averaged 23.3mpg (US) last tank. That was my regular commuting, all stop and go, no highway.

Impressive because the car is rated 23mpg (US) on the highway.

On a good day I could probably squeeze 50mpg from my '04 Civic Sport.
I think the worst I've got out of it though is 18mpg :ouch: How the hell I managed that in a 1.6L hatchback is beyond me.

18? How did you manage that? The worst I ever got on my RX8 was 19mpg.

--------

Well, what d'you know? Changing from an RX8 to a 3 2.0 Sport has improved my fuel efficiency from 22 to 36. Who'd a thought it?

Then.

Now.

I'm not entirely sure, it was only a 90 minute journey, the car wasn't particularly heavily loaded, the drive was over fairly flat ground, tires at a decent PSI, driving on typical B and A roads etc I was thoroughly dumbfounded.

But when on the motorway I always get pretty low MPG, cruising speed in top gear (5 speed gear box) is around 4000rpm with the redline at just over 6000rpm I think.

03 Mustang Cobra ~500hp - 17MPG
Ariel Atom Road Trip - 30MPG
Turbo MINI Cooper S - Daily 33MPG, Road Trip 38MPG
Saturn Sky Turbo - Daily 24MPG
Benz ML320 AWD SUV - Daily 26MPG

My 01 Chrysler sebring only gets 20.5 at best. :(
although its better than the trans am which i can see the gauge go down at full tilt. Must be around 4-5 mpg. On the highway it'll see 15-17 not bad for what it is.

'02 Lexus LS430: Around 19 miles per gallon overall, but with 80% city driving. Quite good for what it is and what it's being driven in.

'06 Mini Cooper S: Barely 30, with around 90% highway driving.

'91 Dodge Ram 350, dual rear wheels, 5.9 Cummins Turbo Diesel engine, averaged 24mpg mixed city/highway last fill up.

2002 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport averaged 32mpg last fill, all highway miles.

I've talking with a guy right now about buying an '82 VW Rabbit diesel, 4 speed manual. Says he has averaged over 50mpg just about every fill up he's had except for winter. My truck won't be my daily driver anymore if I get this.
